Chapter 4 - Chapter II-B: Forbidden like Pandora's -Ilaria Prydwen

The magic they taught me was meant to be forgotten. Long. Ago.

Little did I know, it will cause chaos that will kill many people days later.

"Ilaria! My child, come here!" a ragged looking woman called me. She is a friend though I do not know where she lives or what is her identity before she became a beggar here in Elysian.

Elysian is where I lives. She is my mother place and I am her princess. She covers such nature that could attract anyone's eyes. She is full with blossoms glittering under the bright sun. She is proud that her trees stand tall and boastful of how they grew. She is my town.

"Ilaria! My lady, where will you go? Your mother might catch sick if she didn't find you again.

"Aravis, do not tamper with Elysian's beauty. She should be stared the whole day and that woman you say is NOT my mother. She will never be." Aravis is my personal lady, she takes care of me even though I don't really need it. She is an older woman who always catches up on me for she knew that quoted, -"I am up to no good."

"Ilaria, watch your mouth. My lady, please don't stray too far. The forest that is teasing you out there is full of monsters! You do not want that, right? A grown up princess should not be wandering there." She dusted off the dirt stuck on my dress.

She shushed me using a finger straight to my lips.

"But-"

"No, my princess. Let us go?" She extended a hand to me signaling we will go back to the castle.

I did not take it. I ran away from her.

Eos'

The bitter thorn of the flowers pricks my skin. I did not even noticed it was there before so I grabbed a piece of my clothing and tore it. I began to wrap the clothing to guide as my bandage. I can't walk with blood dripping on my legs.

I heard sounds that sounded like they were shouting my name. Urging me to venture farther into the woods. The sun has set, the sky is already laid, and the moon and stars can be seen above the expanse.

What does she mean by devotion? Do I need some God again to pray for? My head hurts at the very thought of it.

I got up to my knees and started walking away from the seas.

"Sixth Ocean"

"Sixth Mountain"

"Sixth Moon" I said to myself as I keep repeating what my mother had said. The memories starts to flood back and I can not help myself but cry. We did nothing wrong for the Heavens to get angry at us that much.

Inside my thoughts, the voice of the unknown woman kept ringing. I felt dizzy, like as if the waves of the ocean were trying to drown me despite the fact that I was on land.

As I progressed deeper into the woods, I heard leaves cracking as if someone were stepping into them.

I heard footsteps. Soft gentle leaves cracking. Soft footsteps.

Then it went fast.

The delicate sound transformed into a high speed where you could really hear the strides attempting to run. Quick. It looks like it was dashing to reach it's destination then it stopped. It stopped and everything went still. No more sound. No more running. I looked at the back, at my front and both of my sides. Nothing was there.

Just me.

Then I heard it again. I heard it again. Running. Dashing.

I ran. I got up to my knees and ran as quick as possible. I can't take this any longer, what's going on? Where am I?

Abruptly, I halted. I froze and I could feel each and every hair in my body ascended.

I froze and I felt like my heart dropped. The bitter chill breeze of the wind softly run it's whisper at me.

I could feel each and every bits of my body, skin and bones began to shake. I dreaded for my life. I expected that it may assault me and I don't have the strength and boldness to fight back.

This creature-

NOT A GOD'S CHOSEN BUT A GOD'S CURSED.

I felt like my entire world halted briefly when I saw his design.

Never have I at any point seen an animal so alarming.

Never have I seen an animal so horrible.

I was stuck onto where I dropped. I was stuck not until I saw his right hand.

There stood a man. A half monster sniffing around. It's head wears like a cover like tusks of a deer. Blood spouting out of it is sufficient to make any human lose mental state.

It streamed like a waterway. It streamed like there is an inventory within it.

You can at this point don't see a heart yet the construction of it's chest jumps out. Unadulterated. BONES. It have a body of a tall human with long paws enough to kill somebody with only one cut.

I dropped onto the ground and I could feel I could black out whenever.

I HAVE HEARD THIS LEGEND.

This is a Wendigo. A native American Lore.

How did it get here? In Greece? I have remembered what my grandmother told me about this creature. They are once humans but eventually became one of the cursed ones. They manipulate and mimic human forms then after they had cornered you, they will reveal their true and real form. They crave human flesh and eats nothing but their own kind only. They appear like human then  They usually have the odor of 'decay' and it hurts my nostrils.

I don't know that it is somehow real. It is sniffing it's surroundings and somehow wants to find my scent. I am hiding behind a tree while trying my best not to make a sound and scream.

It slowly came creeping. It is walking like a dog and I feel like screaming anytime but when I was about to scream-

A hand covered my mouth forbids me not to.

"Ssshhh, he might hear you."

a manly voice had whispered.
