°Madelaine's POV°
"Mads come down here!" My mom called from downstairs.
I checked my phone to see unread messages from my friend, Daisy. I grabbed my bag on the way
and close my bedroom door.
I sat on the kitchen stool and scrolled through the messages, they were basically about how nervous Daisy was for the concert tonight.
"The principal called just now, telling me you skipped school yesterday. I don't remember giving you permission to skip, did I?" Mom raised an eyebrow my way.
"What are you talking about mama? I was there. Ms. Keller was the one who decided it was fine to kick me out of her class because I answered her with full honesty." I replied. My mother looked at me, sighed, then nodded and went back to her phone.
Standing up and heading to the fridge, I grabbed a handful of blueberries and walked back upstairs to grab my earphone. "I'll see you later ma, love you." I walked to the front door just as Dallas's car came to view, I opened the car door and sit my ass down before slamming the car door shut. I huffed out and started eating my berry one at a time.
"Another argument with momma dearest? You look like shit." Dallas said with a grin.
Dallas and Daisy are siblings. He's 2 years older than us and I am somehow closer to Dallas than to Daisy.
We had made out a few times and we decided to put it as just that and nothing more. So we are officially best friends with benefits. Daisy doesn't know about it and we promise to keep it that way.
"Fuck off." I looked at the backseat. "Where's Dai?" I asked, throwing berries in my mouth.
"I don't know. Let's check the glove compartment." He suggested with a clueless look on his face and bit his lip to keep himself from laughing at his own lame joke. I rolled my eyes and he burst out laughing, it took a few minutes until he fully recovered from his stupid state before he continued, "Probably with his new boyfriend." He peeked at me for a second before focusing back on the road.
"Who is the willing victim this time?" It's not a surprise she got a new boyfriend again after the last one. She changes them like she changes her underwear. Literally every single day. It could be a bartender today and the gardener tomorrow.
She said and I quote 'live your life to the fullest they say, so I'm just trying to live mine'
"Basketball captain," Dallas replied and looked at me for the umpteenth time. "You coming to the concert tonight?" He asked, I looked at him and replied with a nod. He nodded back and then the car came to a halt.
Another day at Riverton High School. I can't wait for this day to end. "See ya later kid." He said getting out of the car.
I got out too and replied with a "See ya later grandpa." At that, he chuckled.
He looked around and then in a millisecond he strode towards me and pecked my lips, I smiled at him before pecking him back.
"Bye-bye" I said cutely before going toward my class. I saw Daisy making out with Ryan (the captain of the basketball team) in a secluded corner.
I went over and whistle a song, standing right in front of them. I don't care if they were having sex, as long as I'm here I will always annoy her. "Two teenagers in a corner, kissing each other."
"Damn you!" She muttered.
"Well, hello to you too." I said and the boy chuckled. "Captain, how are ya?" I refrained from rolling my eyes as I say those words. I hate this boy.
"Good." He licked his lips and didn't even try to hide the fact that he was eye-fucking me.
"I'll see you in class then, yeah?" I looked over at Daisy and she gave me a grateful smile. I almost gagged when I saw her hand's position. On his di-
"Mama!" From the corner of my eyes, I saw none other than the annoying person I always tried to avoid in the morning. I've got no idea how she was always so energetic every morning. It was like the coffee she consumed turned into an energy drink.
She ran towards me and jumped me, thankful that I reacted quickly and caught her before she could throw both of us on the floor.
"Get down before I drop you." She got down quickly almost falling as she does.
"Is that the basketball captain?" Nana asked.
"Ding, ding, ding, bitch." I started walking to the class I have now. Fucking chemistry.
"Wow! She's a horndog." Nana said walking backward next to me.
"Watch where you're going! Jesus!" Pink bitch says as they bumped into each other.
"You watch where you're going!" I barked back. Because anyone with eyes would've seen that she was the one who 'deliberately' bumped into her. "Puta" I mumbled.
"What did you say?" She strutted to me with large steps making her look like a weird zombie.
"You heard me puta!" I don't speak many languages, but I do know curse words from all around the world. I'm not even surprised I was able to memorize all those words but can't even get one page of chemistry lesson in my brain. It's amazeballs how the brain works.
She slapped me across the face. I'm not one to back down without a fight anymore, especially when I did nothing wrong. I hated being so weak. I remember the day I would let everyone step all over me and I will still go on with my day like none of it just happened.
Being abused was one thing but being sexually assault was another thing. I was weak, but now anymore.
I punched her right on the jaw causing her to fall flat ass-to-floor. Her shrieked was deafening.
I walked away with Nana applauding me from behind. I smiled at her and she returned one of her cute smiles back.
After class, I got called to the principal office. Damn this shit! I went to Dallas's car, opened the door, and got inside.
"Heard you got in trouble young lady." He raised an eyebrow at me and smirked.
"You heard right. Let's get out of here before the principal finds out I'm gone."
"Really? First date and you bail already?" He laughed amusingly. I made sure to roll my eyes hard causing him to laugh even harder.
He's an idiot.
Dallas drove me home and we bid each other goodbyes before I got inside and locked the door.
Just before I could reach the living room, the doorbell rang. I groaned and went back to the foyer. Opening the door, my heart stopped.
"Dad?" I'll be damned.
