"Stop! Raise your arms and turn around now!"
Noah was about to leave behind the massacre he caused when a young, womanly voice called out to him in a serious tone. The owner of this determined voice was none other than a young detective called Nira Ashcroft. But, unfortunately, she was someone that Noah knew way too well.
Nira Ashcroft, the youngest detective of the BYPD (Black York Police Department). She graduated university at the feeble age of 14 and joined the BYPD as a detective at 15 when others usually live their middle school fantasies. Her first achievement was an old murder case a few months later. She was able to piece together the case that many famous detectives failed to do.
From that point onward, Nira Ashcroft solved one crime after another. Her amazing deductions and intuition earned her the title of Detective Goddess. The BYPD even claimed that Nira has the ability and the brains to solve even the hardest of cases. This declaration meant that there was no evildoer that the young Nira couldn't catch.
Of course, at the time, they didn't know about the existence of Noah Reiner as the only one who suspected him was Nira Ashcroft herself, and she didn't tell this to anyone. She had no concrete evidence. Hell, forget about evidence, until two years later, she wasn't even sure that Noah was an existing person and only half-believed her own intuition.
Only two years later, during a terrorist attack, when the terrorists themselves didn't know what happened. That was when Nira finally convinced herself to chase the ghost that won't leave her head. Thus, the world's most dangerous hide and seek finally started. They knew about each other and never told anyone.
Noah would always commit an unexpected crime, and the only one who would be able to follow his train of thoughts was Nira alone. So they wandered around the world like this, chasing each other and guessing their next moves for the following two years up until this moment. But, this time, Nira finally caught up to him, even if it was too late.
Noah already committed the crime, but at least the man himself didn't escape this time. He slowly turned around with a fiendish grin plastered on his face, and the two of them became shocked, almost simultaneously. Noah was not the old experienced assassin that Nira had in her mind, and Nira was not an older woman who was bestowed with great wisdom either.
She had waist-length black hair and a pair of light brown, almost golden eyes. She was tall and had an hourglass figure. Her black clothes made her look like a misfit rather than a serious detective. A single glance was enough to tell that Nira was an unusual person. The two of them locked eyes for a moment, but Noah couldn't hold it anymore.
"Pfft, I know what you are thinking. It's written on your face."
"Shu-Shut up. You think the same." Replied Nira with a stumbling voice as she pointed her antique Winchester 1892 at Noah. Her expression slowly turned emotionless as she readied her finger on the trigger. The Winchester was modified so that even the most modern bulletproof vest would get penetrated by its bullets.
"You will die now as a punishment for your crimes, but before that, I want to hear why did you do this?"
"You want a reason? Why do you go to the amusement park? Why do you visit a museum? It was simple curiosity or the thrill to do something that you didn't do before. You followed me for years and knew the answer as well. You just can't believe it."
Noah was right. Nira knew about him, about his personality, and his lifestyle as well. He always tried something new. To him, every day was a new day, but who would believe such a reason? He did it for fun? What about the millions of innocent lives? Nira looked at Noah with a disgusted expression on her face.
"I don't know if that is your real reason but whatever. Such a failure of a human being doesn't deserve even an extra minute. So farewell, Noah Reiner" Nira pulled the trigger for the first and last time in her life. The bullet penetrated his head, but in the next second, Noah's body exploded.
The huge explosion caught Nira off-guard and completely eradicated her existence along with Noah's dead body.
