Benjamin looked out of his bedroom. He wore a striped shirt with jeans. The young man trotted down the stairs and into the living room. He saw Emma cleaning the room, and stopped by then asked, "Where's my wife?" he asked, it made Emma smile briefly. There was no awkwardness on Benjamin Duncan's face when he said "my wife" in front of his maid.
"She is in the front yard," replied Emma.
"Thanks." Benjamin left, he headed for the front yard. And the sight he saw was Queenerra busy cutting the rose stems and arranging them in a basket.
Her smooth white skin glowed in the soft and warm morning sun. Benjamin allowed himself to be spoiled by the sight of that morning for a while.
Sensing someone watching her from a distance, Quenerra turned to and find her husband smiling at her. She placed the garden shears near the basket which was starting to fill with several flower stalks and then walked over to Benjamin. "Are you leaving now?" Queenra asked.
"Yes." Nodded Benjamin.
"May I come with you?" She asked hesitantly. "I want to see Aunt Clara," Queenera said.
"Of course," Benjamin replied. "Change your clothes and we'll go," Benjamin ordered Queenerra to change the dress she was currently wearing.
"Are these clothes inappropriate?" she asked.
"Too formal. You can wear jeans and a shirt" said Benjamin. "We're going to the plantation, not to a party," Benjamin replied.
Later, after becoming Benjamin Duncan's wife, Queenerra was more likely to wear dresses, because it was Benjamin's request. The man had even bought dozens of dresses to be worn alternately every day. Starting from party dresses, to nightgowns. Not without reason, Ben prefers the feminist side of his partner compared to women who have a tomboy style.
Benjamin was already in his car, while waiting for his wife to change clothes, he had first warmed up the car engine.
It wasn't long before Queenerra came in with jeans and a floral shirt with her hair in a ponytail. She looked so fresh and graceful. Her feminine side has not diminished at all. Plus she's wearing eye makeup and blush and lipstick. For the first time, Benjamin realized that the woman he married was so beautiful. No wonder that so many men want her.
Benjamin got out of his car, then turned and opened the door for his wife. Queenerra looked at Ben and froze for a moment, her eyes welling up with tears and Ben nodded to let his wife in. After Queenerra got in, Ben closed the door again and circled the car, then entered through the other side of the car.
Ben turned to Queenerra "Why are you teary-eyed?" Ask Ben.
Queenerra held her breath, she tried to smile and turned to Qbenjamin "You treat me like a respectable lady." The answer.
"You are indeed honored, you are Mrs. Duncan, wife of Benjamin Duncan," Benjamin replied. He bent down to fasten the seat belt for Queenerra.
"I can actually cry being treated like this." She muttered to herself and it made Benjamin smile. He started his car engine then backed the vehicle before turning and leaving the yard of Benjamin Duncan's mansion.
On the way to the plantation, Queenerra opened up the conversation. "What were you talking about with Aunt Angelique just now?" She asked hesitantly.
Benjamin turned his head but didn't answer that time, His jaws tightened for a second. Queenerra immediately corrected her question, "My bad, I shouldn't dare question those things to you." She said regretfully.
Benjamin smiled slightly, "If I explain it to you, you might find it difficult to accept. Or you might feel hurt," Benjamin replied.
Queenerra lowered her gaze, "Sorry . . . I really regret my curiosity." Once again she seemed to regret her question. She shouldn't be so quick to think of herself as Benjamin Duncan's wife who has the right to know all about her husband's affairs.
Sometimes to be a good wife, a woman doesn't need to know much about her husband. She can only serve and accompany her husband, that's all. After all, men always have their own secrets.
Benjamin nodded, "No problem. If you really want to know, I can tell you." The answer.
Queenerra chose to remain silent, until finally, Benjamin spoke up. "Shee wants to set me up with a daughter from her acquaintance," Benjamin said curtly, for a moment Queenerra looked out the car window.
"You can divorce me at any time and marry that woman," Queen said with a smile as she turned to Benjamin. "I don't want to be a burden for you, Sir." She added. "Slept on the same bed, had sex, didn't mean that you should take a further responsibility of me." Queenerra stared at Benjamin for a while, before she turn her gaze to the outside through the car's window.
The man did not immediately answer. His jaw hardened briefly, but from his sharp gaze toward the street. Queenerra could sense that the atmosphere inside the car cabin was changing. It's like Benjamin is carrying a heavy burden, but he's trying to bear it himself.
"I'll drop you off at your aunt's house, you can stay there all day. I'll pick you up in the evening." Benjamin said as soon as they were halfway through.
Queenerra nodded in response. In truth, she was curious about how Benjamin Duncan worked as a large plantation owner in the area. But yet she did not dare to be presumptuous again after the uncomfortable conversation at the beginning of the trip.
"I'll be very busy at the plantation today, so I can't take you for a walk. But maybe we can come back another day so you can go around and have a look." Benjamin glanced at Queenerra and made her heart touch.
Sometimes Benjamin really can't be too soft with women, but from his hard and firm personality, the slightest attention that Benjamin tries to give to a woman can immediately touch their hearts, including the one Queenerra had just felt.
