Benjamin came back into the house and he saw Queenerra busy in the kitchen even though it was late. He walked over to Queenerra and the woman turned to him, she smiled gently, hiding all the pain in her heart to herself. "I cooked for you," She said.
Benjamin approached the dining table and pulled out a stool then sat down waiting for Queenerra to serve the food. "Gertrude likes your ginger cookies." Benjamin started the conversation.
Queenerra smiled slightly, "Actually I made that for you." She said as She served the corn soup, roast beef, and sauteed vegetables. He looked deeply at his wife, while Queenerra pulled out a stool and sat down, only then did she realize that she was being stared at by her husband deeply.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" She asked quietly.
Benjamin looked away briefly then looked at Queenerra again, "Why all of a sudden making ginger cookies? It's not Christmas." he said.
