Chapter 26 - Disoriented

June 5, 2024 [Day 8—Guilt]

The next morning, Damien woke up with a splitting headache. He remembered the night before, but couldn't remember where he had placed his locket.

 

His house was quiet, and the sound of the ocean waves soothed his ears. He forced himself up, moving towards the kitchen and making coffee. He needed some aspirin; he could feel the throbbing pain radiating throughout his skull.

 

As he opened the fridge, he found what he was looking for, grabbing the pills and heading back to his room. After taking three, he felt somewhat better.

 

Slipping on his shoes, he went downstairs to grab a glass of orange juice. He wasn't sure if he should eat anything or not. He sat down on the couch, waiting for the caffeine to kick in.

 

After an hour, the sun began to rise. The birds started chirping, waking him up.
