Kate rushed to where her friend Daisy's wedding reception was, when she got there the program started, she gave her gift for the newlyweds to the person who greeted her who was one of the colleagues of the wedding organizer, she searched for where she was going to sit, she saw one of their friends when they were still in high school, Ellise, she was alone in the table so she moved and sit beside her.
"I'm glad you came Bai, Daisy already said that you met last month at the bookstore and she gave you an invitation to her wedding." she said as she sat next to her chair.
"Aren't the others here yet?" she asked because she noticed that there were a lot of chairs just empty there.
"They're here, you're the last one to come, they're in the comfort room making out, because there's a lot of men there." Ellise said as she snorted at the group of men. She turned to the side behind her, where her friend's muzzle was headed, and she thought her friend was right, there were handsome people there, and she felt like she wanted to see the man sitting with his back to their place.
"And did you know that Daisy told us that the prince of one of the most famous universities here in the Philippines is with them?" she said more. Her heart beat even stronger at what her friend said.
"But come on Bai!, didn't you come back here when your parents were gone? I'm sorry if I remind you, which university did you attend then?" this is an apologetic question.
"That's okay, I've moved on from the death of my parents, but why did you ask?"
"Because I forgot what Daisy mentioned about the school, where exactly is that?"
"I studied at Ateneo de Manila University before." she answered her question.
"It's like that's the name of the school Daisy mentioned, haaayst!!.. later we'll find out, there are our dear friends,." she pointed to the coming friends. Their meeting as friends is like a reunion of their high school batch. When the emcee called the men for the groom's garter toss, she turned to the group of men, maybe her hunch was right,.. but the man who was sitting with his back to them did not stand up, she was even more disappointed when he was called by groom by another name. She stood up and went to the women's comfort room.
Curt lazily stood up and walked to the front, he would join new friends to compete for the only garter of the groom would throw, he couldn't believe himself to compete to get the garter, he had no interest in such game, but it was his friend who called him, when he was close to where the friends were, it was as if someone pulled him to turn him away from the group of women.
"Is that Nessah?" he mentioned in his call to the girl that he had waited a long time to see again. He grabbed his head as if something had fallen from the ceiling, he was even surprised that it was the garter. His questioning eyes looked at the groom friend who was smiling at him. "Ellise, please go get Bainessah there, I won't start until she's not here." The bride shouted to her friend Ellise's name,, the woman must have no the same name in this world, because when the bride mentioned her name, he confirmed that he saw correctly, it was Nessah. His thoughts were interrupted by a tap on his shoulder from behind him.
"Curt, the groom calls you!" said his new friend.
He stood up and went to where the groom was. What was his friend's plan and he was the one who discussed the foolishness of it. "Whatever you plan Dave Smith, I hope it goes with what I want." he said as he got closer to him.
"My wife has a trick so give it to her, you know you can trick her!,.. so you can have a girlfriends, right?".. his friend the groom said calmly.
"Just make sure!" he said with a threat, because what if another woman is purposely given as a bride? maybe he can give the garter to someone else and just walk out and pull Nessah to take her home so she won't get lost again.He smiled at his thought.
"Yes, you will definitely be happy, you won't regret it, stand there.." he patted him on the shoulder and left him standing there. While the emcee was counting down for the bride to throw her bouquet, he didn't take his eyes off her, because when he gave the bouquet to another woman, he would give the garter to someone else. He will continue what he thought earlier.
He caught his breath when the bride approached Nessah, and made her walk backwards towards where he was standing, and when she was opposite him, the bride turned the woman around and what joy he truly felt he saw.
Shocked!, surprise, nervousness, confusion, and whatever you call Kate's reaction when she faced the person who caught the garter was none other than the person she had longed to see. She just stood there for five minutes in shock, that's how long she was stunned just looking at the man's handsome face.
"Nessah!" Curt said softly to her.
"Guys! It looks like these two lovebirds know each other, so let's start the dance that our women and men have been waiting for.." said the emcee, because they both seemed to be staring for a long time, the five minutes that Kate had counted earlier has increased by five, what is happening to her why can't she speak and move? if Curt hadn't hugged her tightly, she would have been staring at him for twenty minutes, maybe even an hour.
Since Nessah couldn't move, she must have been shocked to see him, so he embraced her and hugged her tightly!..
"I miss you so much Nessah!.. I don't care if you has a husband and children, they will forgive me but I waited a long time to see you again.." he directly whispered her..
"CG!.." Nessah whispered back. "Is it really you? Didn't I just miss it?" the girl whispered back.
"Yes, it's me! It's true, we've met again Nessah.." he cupped the girl's face with his two hands to make her feel that what's happening now is real. "We'll talk later, for now let's give the newlyweds a game of theirs." he added to what he said with smiles on his lips, because of happiness,.. whatever her answer was earlier to what he whispered that if she had a husband and children, he would think about it later.
