On the 5th day of staying in Batanes, Curt already trained to be there. And on that day, Rafael invited him to play basketball, there was a party because it was the patron saint's feast. Because it was Sunday, he invited his girlfriend to church. after attending mass they go to the basketball court.
"You going to join the team Love?" Nessah asks to Curt buy using his endearment to her.
"Yes Love!, why? Does it have something wrong? And wait! Did I hear right? Did you call me Love?" he felt so much glad when Nessah called him their endearment.
"Yes! You're right!" Nessah answers with care.
Curt can't control his emotions if it comes about it, he quickly turns the car into the side of the road and grabs Nessah's neck and kiss her on her lips without any hesitate.
"I love you so much, Nessah, you're the only one." he said while their noses were still touching. "I love you too CG, no one else." Nessah answered. "Let's go back to the church?" "CG we have a game, what are we going to do at church now that the mass is over!, did you leave something behind?"
"I have nothing left, but! shall we get married?" Curt said as he held Nessah's cheeks in both of his hands. Nessah laughed out loud, not at what her boyfriend said but at his look, as if it was a mixture of humor, seriousness and excitement based on the reaction on his face. "Why are you in such a hurry CG, don't worry and we will get there as you want, let us experience being a couple first before we get into a serious and quiet life." Nessah said at length. Curt was about to speak but his cell phone rang.
"My mom!" he said.
"Answer it, it's okay! we have thirty minutes left before the game start."
And Curt answer his phone.
"Yes! mom?"
"Son, where are you? Last week, when you left, your driver didn't even know where you went, I kept calling you but couldn't reach you, what's going on with you?" Curt's mother said on the other line.
"Mommy! don't worry my love who kidnapped me, I'm in a safe hands." He was still looking at her while smiling. She just smiled at his guidance.
"You are pure nonsense Curt Gilbert, you worried me and your daddy, even in your office you didn't say goodbye." mommy's moaning.
"Forgive me mommy! It was so sudden that is why I couldn't say goodbye."
"Alright then and I'll do something else, I know you don't want to tell me where you are, call Trexie and if she haven't eaten for a few days, she's looking for you." Nessah turned to Curt because of what his mother said. Curt took a deep breath before speaking again.
"Mommy try to convince her, if you can tell her to forget me, and I can't really love her like she wants, I love someone else mommy and you will meet her soon." he said to his mother then grabbed the hand of his girlfriend and squeezed it gently.
"Son! I've been telling Trexie so many times but she doesn't want to believe me, she's still angry with me, because she says I'm on your side."
"Alright mom! I'll just call her okay?.. don't worry about that, and I'll bring my heart with me when I get home."
"Okay, go ahead, son! Be careful there."
"Bye! mommy! I love you!" he said goodbye to his mother and hung up on her.
Nessah, who had been listening to the conversation between her mother and her boyfriend, was out of her mind, she didn't realize that she was locked in her boyfriend's arms.
"My love!, don't think about what mom says, since Trexie's son Trestan was born, I don't go home to my parents' house anymore, I have my own house and you're the only one I want to be with there." he explained to the bride because he felt that she was hurting even if she didn't say it yet.
"Where is the boy's father?" she asked nervously.
"We don't know, Trexie doesn't want to say, she says I'm the father."
Nessah let go of her boyfriend's embrace, her heart breaking with what she knew, even though she didn't understand much. But her boyfriend did not let her go.
"Come on CG!, let's get caught up in your game." she just said to avoid what they could talk about, about her former rival, who turned out to have a child with the man she loves the most.
"I don't care about the game, what I want now is to explain to you what has been happening to me for the past five years."
"Okay! I'll listen, but we'll talk later when we're home, is that okay?" she convinced her boyfriend.
"Promise me first that you won't leave me suddenly?"
"I promise! this time I will listen to you and understand." That was all Curt wanted to hear, so they continued to the gym, where they were going to play basketball.
It was the first time Nessah watched basketball with her boyfriend playing, she remembered that she should have watched his game when they were just friends, but she was hurt when she caught the young man and Trexie hugging, so instead she would watch, she just went home and packed clothes to stay away from the man.
And that was the biggest mistake she made because instead of forgetting the man, she remembered and missed him even more. Her eyes were only focused on her boyfriend, the young man was really good at playing basketball, she knew then that he was good because he was a varsity player and captain ball when they were in college, she proved it even more now, he even made three pointers, nothing at all spared even a single ball, everyone actually enters the ring. She suddenly screamed when she saw his boyfriend cum and she could see that the man was pushing on purpose, she didn't know much about basketball but she knew that it was a foul, and not just a foul, Harold, the man who spends most of the night, meant it -visiting her at night at her house and courting her.
Even in recent days, the man always comes to her house, she just doesn't face him because she doesn't want her boyfriend to get jealous and fight because she knows how's is Curt if get jealous, he doesn't hold back a fight.
"Are you okay CG?" she asked worriedly as she approached her boyfriend and helped him stand up.
"I'm fine Nessah!" her boyfriend answered and he put his arms around her and led her to the long seats of the players.
"That elbow of yours is bleeding, Laila, please ask for a wound cleanser and medicine." she shouted to the manager of that game who immediately came to them with a box of medicines.
And because she is a doctor, it is easy for her to treat these kinds of things.
"Honey! Didn't you take a nurse? Did you finish that in England?"
"No, I changed courses and until now I'm still studying and next week I'm going back and I'm not in England, I'm in the US to continue my doctorate." Nessah replied as she carefully bandaged his injured elbow.
"What? you leave me again?"
He asked his girlfriend with a frown. In the seven days they had been together, they hadn't talked about it, so now he didn't know how to react to what she answered.
"Shut your mouth, We talk about it later in the house not here!.. and I don't say that I leave you again." She answered and stood up, carrying the box of medicines and walked towards the table where the game committees were stationed.
"Laila, thanks for the medicine, and can I ask a question?"
"Okay Kate! what are you asking?"
"What time does the game end?" she knew that they could see that she was angry because of the drawings on the faces of those there. Laila didn't answer because someone answered behind her and it was Curt,.
"Calm down Nessah! I'm fine, it's just a scratch, let's go, I won't play again. The team will win, let's go home and I might get into a fight here." he whispered to her. Kate knew that something bad was happening inside the playground while her boyfriend was playing, so why did he say that it might lead to a fight. She turn her head of where Curt looking at, there! she found Harold looking at them too.
She know that Curt is sweet in public, He didn't embarrass her then. But his tenderness now she knew there was a reason. so before it got trouble in that place, she grabbed his hand and pulled him out of the gym. When they got to her car, she faced him and hugged him without saying a word. After in a few minutes, Curt lean on the hood of the car, while Nessah still stood where she stop earlier.
"I love you CG!.." she whispered.
"What? I can't hear you, come near me!." Curt said.
Nessah move forward, but she shocked, she's not even reach Curt, but Curt greeted her with a kiss on her lips so quickly. He hugged her tightly.
"I know you love me Nessah! and I can feel it, you're mine Nessah, only mine, that's a promise, I'll never let you go even if you try to let go, I won't even lend you to him."
"What happened inside the court CG?" she couldn't stop asking.
"Come on, let's go home first,." he just said and helped her to the inside of her car.
