As Alex got ready for his first full day in his new body, he finally noticed that this body's appearance was different as well. In contrast to his original black hair and brown eyes, he now had very blonde hair almost bordering on white. This was complimented by high cheekbones, and nice, straight nose; as well as a pair of piercing dark blue eyes that almost looked black. According to the new worlds standards he should be attractive, if not very handsome. Sifting through the memories he realised that the previous Alex did have some admirers during his elementary school days, but he always ghosted them in favour of maximising his computer time.
Putting on the black suit embroidered with a pair of crossed swords and an azure blue tie that constituted the school uniform; Alex grabbed some breakfast and headed out. Alex had always been a very curious person and the transmigration had really brought this characteristic to the forefront of his personality – with the endless repository of knowledge that was the modern world, and the wonderful phone that could connect to the internet he had endless knowledge at his fingertips.
However, even after only a cursory glance, Alex realised that the amount of knowledge available to the humans of this planet was practically endless and could not be absorbed by one person alone. He would have to think about what direction he would decide to pursue alongside his system dictated lifestyle.
Having spent the walk towards the school grounds scrolling through the endless information, Alex was quietly overwhelmed. Walking in through the turnstiles he made his way to his classroom, sitting in his usual seat by the window. Having arrived quite early, the classroom slowly filled, and the volume slowly increased.
"Oh look, if it isn't our favourite nerd!"
"Get lost Adrian, I don't care about your antics."
While Alex could not be bothered to deal with this rich kid, he understood that there was also very little he could do to fight back. With his current standing as a scholarship orphan, sizing up against this Adrian Biles, son of the chairman of the Biles Group, a hegemon of the Britannia telecommunications industry, was just wishful thinking. Not that it couldn't be done, but for the transmigrator still getting used to the new environment it was a challenge that would require planning and thought. But you would be wrong to think that Alex would just let it slide. Oh no, our Alex is a very vindictive person. But his revenge requires planning and foresight.
As he was lost in his ideas of revenge, and mentally relishing the picture of Adrian drowning in his own blood, Alex was suddenly startled by the system speaking up.
"Host should note that one of the quest targets is within 500m of them."
Alex sat up, having completely forgot about the translucent arrow that was floating mysteriously in his peripheral vision. The number had changed down to 482m. However, since the system said two of the targets that means that two of my past brothers and sisters attend this school with me. Or at least, the bodies they have taken over attend this school with me.
Alex forcefully stared at the arrow as the numbers kept changing until they started plummeting.
400m … 372 m … 314m … 263m … 179m … 81m … 50 m … 32 m …
18m … 7 m … 5m …
Until the arrow flew away and settled above the head of a girl walking through the door. A gorgeous, tall redhead had walked through the door, with emerald eyes and unbelievably long legs. She was wearing the girl's uniform, a short black skirt and the same black blazer, however the boys tie was replaced by a crimson ribbon tied under the collar of her shirt. The system arrow floated above her head pointing aggressively at her.
Alex was taken aback; this was one of his fellow disciples? This gorgeous ginger beauty was one of the four scrawny kids in the endless bamboo forest?
After walking into the room, the redhead, took in the classroom and felt a scary gaze on her. Tracing the gaze, she made eye contact with Alex, the quiet kid by the window.
Alex looked into the redhead's emerald eyes, immediately realising who it was. Getting up he walked towards the confused girl, and as he brushed past her, he asked, "Could I have a minute of your time, please?"
Surprised that this quiet kid was talking to her, "Of course" she replied absentmindedly.
Stepping into the wide corridor, Alex looked into her eyes and after making sure it was who he thought it was he broke apart her world.
"Amazing to see you again sister Five, I cannot believe we are together once again!"
"B – b – brother one?" She asked shakily.
"Yes Five, we have all made it through to this world! Two, Three and Four are also somewhere around!"
Sister Five had transmigrated into this gorgeous ginger beauty. The original body's owner Eleanor Wright was the only granddaughter to the current Prime Minister of Britannia, Stephen Wright. As the daughter of a much-loved politician, she had a much better social standing than Alex, she was rich and popular, as well as the most beautiful girl in the year group.
"How did you get here One?!"
"When we were in the glade, I beseeched Nyx to provide you four with another chance as you did not deserve the ending you got using my soul as a sacrifice. Nyx took pity on us all and sent us to this world."
"No way. I thought I had gotten lucky and had been reborn in another world as a random occurrence, or as they say, due to the karmic circle of rebirth."
"We were all reborn here together, albeit with a mission given to us by Nyx. I will tell you all together. My current plan is to round up Two, Three and Four after school, and tell you all about the mission Nyx has asked of us in exchange for our second chance."
"Let's get back to class, they will be wondering where we are so long."
Walking back in, Eleanor walked up to the desk adjoining mine and looked at the new occupant, a lower-level member of the social circles, and asked him with a smile,
"I would really like to have this seat. Please could we swap places Michael? I would really appreciate it."
She topped off her request with a soul stealing smile that the boy would remember for the rest of his life.
"O – o – of course Miss Wright!"
Quickly vacating his desk, he skittered away like a startled deer. Much to the class's surprise she settled down next to Alex's seat and smiled up at him innocently.
"Now, this will be much better Alex."
