The first one having put him in a certain department, the second one would see his skill to match him with the corresponding level of skill required, basically the more the rank the better it may depending on if you can handle it, did NOT work here. It was mostly that you get past a certain level and the system will recommend and give you better areas to increase your levels, get more equipment, explore and so on.
The evaluation was already ongoing since the start of his in-game time. Whatever rank he got, he could not make sense of it. The AI tried to explain something, but he was not in the mood.
"Who else has already finished." was what he was thinking of now.
After some messaging, he gave all of them an invitation to join a virtual space. Quite a few of them had already finished. Not to mention that most of the new recruits were also among the already done people. "Are we stoppng here?" asked one of them. He was a young man just like Allen. Others were more or less older, with only one exception maybe. The draft itself was a word strong enough to make them tremble. If anyone in the military said that to some kids, all the families would end up doing something crazy preety soon.
"There is a feature to party from here. if they did not party now it would not be suitable as a good experience point for the military, the military operations wre supposed to be in teams, after all. They would not charge solo those monsters, in a game they could anytime, but definitely not in actual life situations" Allen explained, seeing that others were also listening right now. After some more words had exchanged, Allen started to count who was still missing from among them.
Seeing that Tim was the only late one from among their original team and two of the new recruits were also late, Allen decided it was not a good idea to proceed with only 66% of the team and also not a good idea to make them wait for others . The timer by the system also told them it had been over 10 hours since they started playing. 'No way all of them can continue playing the game. The small rests we took from game to eat or for recreation in real life, can't account for the fact that we need sleep too". Others were feeling this too, after discussing with the others, this time also with the new recruits, Allen let the team leave. Yushin did not want to involve himslef much in these matters. It was a plus for him that he did not have to manage so much again.
Within an hour, the two new recruits had arrived. Allen briefed them about the situation and advised them to return and take a rest for the long day ahead. He could get along with all of them, even though it was recently that they met. Probably because they were playing game and Allen was good to any game member, there was probably a second reason in that the military had set him as a team leader, it was better to not go against his order, even though it was in game currently. Tim was taking his time doing this. Allen thought he probably was trying to get as perfect a score as he could. He sent an in game message to him to ask how much time had left. He replied soon that he was almost out. Those were very peculiar words to say that he was out, but Allen waited for roughly a few minutes and then went back along with Tim, no questions asked. The military was collecting all the data already, with video footage among other things. So they would not be bothered for now. The experience this time was not very relevant to the situation. As for the report matter, his neighbour had made some case on their part and they had quite some leeway regarding that for now. He only sent voice message to his neighbour stating that" Uncle Sam, the first day went as planned, soon it is expected that they could have the thing on track.
I am not calling you as I think you may be outside the base and it might distract you."
'I do not want to disturb the military operations. A great official excuse to not have to call. Need to make some more when I have some spare time.'
To his surprise, before he could put his phone down and let sleep hit him, his phone started to ring with the emergency ringtone…the one he had set for his neighbour, Uncle Sam. 'I can't even say that I was sleeping so I couldn't respond, or can I?"
In this timeframe he got a message, he asked the mobile program to read it out aloud instead of grabbing his phone.
It played out"Quickly pick up the phone or else I am going to broadcast my voice in the whole base to call you"
Allen's heart more than a little jumped after hearing that, he quickly picked up the call
"So, what did you say in the ovoice message?"
"You didn't listen to it, did you?"
"I have the actual person on call, he can tell me just fine. So what is the situation, is the news good?"
'We are playing games though. What kind of good news can I give? We were able to down some bears and I have decided to take one of them as a pet in the game?'
"Well, some things I have in mind. But, there was nothing siginifant that could help the military for now. We just tested the game, it really could help a lot in the future." Allen said pacing about the room. He was more intimidated by him now, as he was in a boss and subordinate situation with him now.
There was a little bit of silence, then the military commander said" This is not general public information but you are part of a special team, you should know this. A total of 2 cars loaded with soldiers were attacked today, the cars had all the latest kind of detection technology and stealth equipment enabled. The creature that they faced had more better and upgraded versions of them, the cars were suddenly lifted after being baited, another two dispatchments have been sent to rescue the little team that was sent out"
Allen started to worry a lot, the military commander had told him in a secret way that the base security was very low right now. There were not many soldiers that were available in the base in the first place, because most of the teams were dispatched to various places, to protect the civilians that they received signals from and various other things, including going out to gether supplies for the civilians and the military soldiers, the staff and so on. The electric grid and other things were in the list of the military to protect too.
"And where do you think I am right now?"
Allan wanted to reply but he just couldn't begin to form words.
After a few moments the call was cut off.
' He probably did not do it out of anger' The situation must have changed for the call to be cut off abruptly.
Allen went to his bed and let the sleep knock him out.
It was still not very bright when he went to the same researchers, that had tried to simulate those monsters, so that the movements and patterns of those creatures could be studied in game.
His neighbour Sam had given a free pass to this area. He also had the contact info of some of them, including their head. So he was able to notify them before he came. They were also quite busy, and were taking minimum sleep to simulate and gather more data about those creatures for the game purpose, among some other things they were entrusted with as a duty.
The person in question did not have the time to meet him, but he had to, as his superior officer had instructed him to cater to Allen's team's needs as his main and top priority.
Allan wanted to discuss with him about how he was able to simulate those things. He had some basic idea.
'Probably from footage and other data gathered' There was a lot of video data that was being carefully looked at and made documents about here.
After listening to what Allan wanted, the head told him what Allah thought was the case. They were indeed able to gather data from here, and the programmers were able to plug that as a mode in the game. It was a collaborative effort between them.
The head quickly called the department head of the other team, not to get out his frustration, but maybe to find a fellow partner in his misery. The other head also came within a few minutes.
"
Allan asked
" How much time it would take to be able to simulate the bases of their creatures. The military should have already attacked some of their bases, right"
The both of them looked at each other, pretty sure that he should not have that information. Their guess was he was guessing.
They silently communicated with each other
'Well we have to cooperate with him, so...'
They quickly gave him a timeframe that it would only take around 4 hours for that to be done at fast speed.
"However, if more time is given they would be able to simulate more with more data used."
Alone thought about it but he really wanted to be able to dive in right now. He told them to focus on doing at the fastest speed, after talking a little bit more, leaving them at their busy schedule.
He wanted to let the others sleep for now considering that it was going to take some time for the setting up to be done.
When he came back and opened the door, he found out that almost all of them had gathered there, they were even less patient than he was regarding this.
Allen counted and only Tim was not there. He asked Yushin to go and wake him up. Yushin returned after a few minutes with a half drowsy Tim.
Allen asked "What were you doing, that you are that much sleepy?"
