As Hades arrives at school, he walked past through the corridor and saw everyone practicing magic in their classroom around him. He couldn't help but feel envious of his classmates as they showcased powerful elements such as summoning fire and water spells with ease.
He reached the front door of his class and sees his classmates laughing and enjoying their last time together - performing spells and incantations, while the teacher was nowhere to be found.
This sight made him come to the realization that he was the only student in the class who was known to have no mana and no magical powers during that Wednesday afternoon where students began to feel mana surging through their body.
We were once average people, enjoying each others company and treated one another with kindness and respect, but once magic got into the picture - Their true colours started to show.
Feeling hopeless and frustrated, Hades decides to skip his last magic training class. As he walked away from the school, he couldn't help but wonder if he would ever find his place in this world of magic.
While everyone enjoys their last day of school together, he decided to spend his last day alone at the most secluded area in the school: the Library.
The school was once a average high school where students would learn the expected subjects such as maths, science, IT and etc.
But due to the sudden appearance of dungeons 5 years ago, the school was transformed into a magic school for students to learn and perfect their magic and learn other skills such as making potions, craft magical armour, engineering weapons to help against the monsters swarming out of dungeons.
Ever since then, The library would only be occupied by a handful of individuals that would only come by to take a quick nap, read some fiction novels and yes, the hot spot for secret couples to 'hang out'.
Hades looked around the library picking out every single book relating to crafting magical armour, engineering weapons, and various volumes on potions to help further his knowledge. He needs to be knowledgably 10 steps ahead everyone else if he wants to get a job as he is currently at a disadvantage with every single applicant towards ZIMAS.
At the corner of his right eye, he see's a dusty leather covered book ready to fall out of the bookcase at any moment.
"Don't you dare fall!" Hades says, as the books starts to tilt further out.
The book lodged out of the shelf, causing Hades to suddenly panic. He threw the collected books down, rushes towards it and catches it as he fall flat on his face on the floor - keeping the dusty book held high.
"Ouch! That freaking hurt!" as he tilt his chin up high, trying to stop his nosebleed.
He placed all the books that he collected on the table and decided to examine the dusty leather book.
"Wow… This book must've been rotting on the shelf for quite a long time. You must've felt neglected & forgotten by the other students just like me."
He blew the dust off the book and remove the leather cover and what he saw astonished his very eyes.
"Damn, Is this book really meant to be here?"
The Book was covered in beautiful patterns, with calligraphy text embraided by what looks to be gold.
"This book looks expensive! I don't think this book belongs here." Hades muttered to himself
As he slowly lifts the cover, ready to uncover it's mysterious; a shadowy figure slowly creeps up from his behind.
"AaaaaHHHH! Who goes there?" as he quickly turns his face back, seeing a short skinny guy wearing camouflage overalls.
"It's me buddy, Aden, your best bud."
"I nearly shat myself bro, you know I have a weak heart! What are you doing out of class?" Hades exclaimed.
"I could say the same thing to you!" Aden replies.
"Hey… since today is the last time we see each other before we graduate, how about we head downtown and have the most memorable time of our lives?" Aden replies with a smile.
Hades contemplates for a while and comes to quick conclusion, "Sure, what else is there for us to do."
Hades shoved the books that he collected, along with the leather book, down his bag and leaped out of the library window - catching the bus to downtown.
