"Li Jie, admit it already. You're dating someone, aren't you? "
Wiping tears off his eyes, Wang Li Jie sniffled before giving a big fat 'no' to his chatterbox friend besides.
"Of course not. What make you think that way? "
It's been a good hour his eyes wouldn't stop watering whatsoever. And the youth was starting to feel like running away already. But as an eager volunteer as he was, he couldn't simply give in. With a look of determination on his face, Wang Li Jie carried on what he's doing, sniffling and wiping his tears from time to time.
One might wonder what they were doing right now. Yeah.... it was mentioned they were volunteering. But what kind of volunteer work made Wang Li Jie ended up like this?
To tell the truth, they were wrestling with a pile of red onions right now, peeling and slicing them whilst shedding tears. In fact, it's safe to say Wang Li Jie was the only one here who was shedding tears. The other two bros of his were doing fine. Though their eyes also turned somewhat red, still, they were not that miserable compared to Wang Li Jie.
That's right. This morning, the three bros, Wang Li Jie, Huang Guiren and Li Qing, came down the mountain to volunteer villagers for their construction. But the fact was they somehow ended up in a little kitchen instead of a construction site.
The story was like this. When the trio went to help the construction, they found themselves not being able to understand any bit of how the process worked. The three were muddle headed like kids who couldn't understand adults' work whatsoever.
Yeah.... they might be clever and quick-witted when it came to cultivation. But faced with this sort of tough and tiring work, all the trio turned into absolute idiots with zero IQ. And that was when an aunt, who was in charge of cooking, happened to come and suggest to help her with some minor tasks.....which they later found out to peel hundreds of onions.
"Then, give me some believable excuses about your strange behaviors these days. "
"He's right. You look pretty off these days. "
Twirling a thin and light knife in one hand, Li Qing chimed in as well. Something was really off about Wang Li Jie for sure. These days, every time they met this buddy, he might be in a daze or a gloomy mood. If not, then he would get all worked up for every tiny little things.
Plus, his habits changed. Wang Li Jie didn't come to the dining hall in time....sometimes a bit late.....sometimes he might even skip the entire meal. The time they spent together also got less and less. This guy was undoubtedly hanging out with someone else behind their back. And that was how Huang Guiren came to a conclusion that his pal might be getting a new girlfriend.
Wang Li Jie coughed unnaturally, trying to conceal his guilt. The youth also knew his manners in the past few days might arouse suspicions of his two bros. As to why he was so gloomy or angered sometimes, that was obvious. The culprit would be no other than his little master.
Yep....their training didn't go well at all. As soon as the two got into bamboo forest and no one else was around to supervise them, the duo would start a shit, arguing and annoying each other like crazy when the training was yet to start.
Li Zian was such a nuisance. Now that, he found out about his weak physical condition, that bastard wouldn't stop making threats like " If you don't listen to me or dare to complain during training, I'm gonna spread rumors about your fragile body."
Did that brat not know a moral man shouldn't do things like threatening, using someone else's weak point? He was still a small brat who had been living in this world no more than 15 years or so. With what sort of guts did he dare to threaten an adult like him?!
And as to why he missed lunch meals half the time, it was also because of this very same reason. Due to conflicts between the two, their training was often hindered. Sometimes when they'd done annoying each other and got to the serious staff, they found themselves having wasted almost half of the training period.
And when that happened, Li Zian wouldn't let him leave even after lunch time. It was getting really frustrating. That guy even dared to touch his private leisure time. To make things worse, his father also was helping that brat from behind sneakily.
The youth made an effort to find a practical solution to this hurdle. But only useless shit came out of his head that Wang Li Jie turned all gloomy or even hot-tempered these days.
Wiping tears with the back of his hand, Wang Li Jie finally gave a response.
" That...About that...I accept what Li Qing said something was a bit off about me. But, Guiren, do I look so happy these days that you even think I have a girlfriend?"
The youth seemed so pathetic right now, his sleeves rolled up, his eyes all teary, with the addition of that messy hair and gloomy facade. Wang Li Jie was intentionally showing his friends as to how he was in an overwhelmingly pitiful state right now.
Huang Guiren sighed. Shaking his head, he started explaining in details, like a scholar, about how he came to this conclusion.
" No....in fact, it's the absolute opposite of what you said. I have this hunch my bro might be having a girlfriend because he looks so sad and cheerless every day. You know what? Being in a relationship is all about getting yourself into troubles.
At first, you won't notice it. But as time goes by and when you have someone to nag you day in day out, you'll end up getting sick of it or even rattled. That's why I tell you guys.... never, ever to get a girlfriend. Being single is just the best of the best options...."
Raising one brow, the baffled Wang Li Jie stared at his bro who was yet to finish his logic about love. This excuse of Huang Guiren was simply so reasonable that the youth didn't even know where his fake pathetic act had gone to. Twisting his head round, the youth asked Li Qing next to him in a whisper.
" What have happened to him?"
"Don't ask....
Just a few days ago that guy got rejected from his crush once again. "
Ahh.....so that's how is it...
Nodding his head, the youth turned to look at Huang Guiren whose speech didn't seem to come to an end soon. Shaking his head, Wang Li Jie muttered something under his breath.
My poor bro... when it comes to matter of the heart, how come his luck can be so damn crappy?...
