Kaos's P.O.V
Was this the human Dahime spoke of, the one in my temple. He looks weak.
And it seems Dahime was right, I can feel the chaotic energy seeping through my being and as long as there was chaos, I live. Humans are still chaotic as ever, if I was going to stay on Earth, I just needed to prevent them from looking into my eyes.
I yawned, I was tuckered out by my descent. I coiled up and nuzzled my snout on my tail. I am not sure I was ready to leave this form yet.
They both started to argue about taking me with them and my ears twitched, I was itching to hear what he was going to say.
Apparently he wants to take me with him but his lady friend was not having any of it. She smells funny...like a decaying animal... like deceit.
I felt him pick me up and cradled me in his arms like you would a cat, marvelling at how beautiful I was. My heart skipped a beat and I could feel warmth spreading through my body and I'm sure he felt it too because I could feel him relax.
The rotten smell from the woman was getting stronger and I feared for this human's life. I opened my eyes and it met with hers and the smell intensified. I was not even surprised at all at her reaction to what she saw. She stood there frozen in fear, tears staining her face.
I turned my attention to the human holding me, he was clueless about what had transpired.
"Are you here to pray?" I spoke, surprising him. His eyes widened at the realization that I just spoke to him, I stifled a laugh. He stuttered but he was not hard to understand and it was amusing to watch him react to that development.
I calmed his fears of finally going mad and asked him who he was. Dhara, Dhara Smith. I wonder which one of his parents named him... I am sure he knew he was given a female name. This human...no Dhara set me down gently.
And when he finally realized something was wrong with his friend, he became hysterical but I had to tell him the truth. She is a deceitful one, if he did not take care, he would die.
There are limits to a god's power depending on the type of god but for some reason my powers were limitless, I could do anything without restraint. I told him how I could see through her mind and that seemed to do the trick. It seems he had suspicions of his own, she was just too good at convincing him. I released her at his behest and chaos broke out.
I would not lie that I was not surprised when he stood to defend me but he seemed to forget, I am a god and they were in my house.
it surprised me how much knowledge humans of this time can acquire about something that ceased to exist for a long time...like me. How did she know about me and more importantly, just how much does she know?
Yara's P.O.V
Shit! She caught me off guard. I had all this planned so meticulously, from awarding the expedition to actually finally meeting the goddess of chaos.
I was this close to achieving my goal, what went wrong? I can't even run if I got the chance, my leg is broken and all I can do is not make any noise and maybe if my luck doesn't run out she'd forget I'm here.
Everything went haywire the moment she opened her eyes...those damned eyes. I was completely rendered immobile by her eyes...it was excruciating to experience hell without actually dying...so much power for one god, I'm not surprised now that people fought themselves for her favor.
I stiffened when she glanced my direction. I squeezed my eyes shut, I'd be damned if I went through that hell again. She was by me in a flash.
"You still stink...you may try to cover up with your pretty face but you will still stink up a whole room." her features held disgust as she growled at me.
I took it as my cue to leave. I leaned against the wall for support as I got up and began my painful trek outside.
Dhara said nothing to me and I didn't expect him to. He was probably too shocked to take in my betrayal. I could feel his angry stare bore into the back of my head but I didn't care...that didn't matter now because once I'm out of the temple, my back up would attack. There's no way I would let him leave with Kaos.
She belongs to me...her power belongs to me...I smiled in triumph.
Kaos
I picked up multiple scents surrounding my temple. They were inching closer. I faced Dhara, he looked dazed.
"we need to get out of here" that seem to bring him out of his reverie. "we are surrounded by Yara's men and I cannot kill them because they would come looking as it is suspicious that a high number of people vanished at my temple and I do not want anyone desecrating my home" I have been in this situation before, that was the last time I saw anyone come into my temple.
"okay, but if we're surrounded, how do we get out then? there's no other way out of here except the entrance and as you said they would surely be waiting for us"
"if you stayed here, you will die of starvation...if we both stay here, we will be captured." I pondered on what to do.
"we could go out in disguises, because since you are stumped on finding a way out, it means you can't pull a disappearing act to get us out because I was wondering..." I cut him off with a small laugh.
" I am not a magician, Mr. Dhara but, I can make a storm, I travel by lightning"
"I might not survive that..." he mused "it's dark, can't you just cause them to knock eachother out like you did with the villagers" he pointed at the murals.
"Good idea...no one has prayed to me in eons for me to have that kind of power." I sighed coiling up again.
"I'll make a request..." he suggested eagerly and I perked up
"what do you have to offer..." I rolled my eyes. This human had nothing on him that had that much value "you would have to offer something very valuable. you only seem to be covered in dust and you carry maps" I pointed out.
He went on his knees and took off his necklace and placed it before me.
"I don't have incense but I have this. It's very dear to me..." he bowed, I could hear the crack in his voice. It must be dear to him indeed.
"what do you pray for?" I grinned as I felt power course through my veins.
"...protection from my enemies." he touched my forehead with his. He even learnt the old ways. This human was full of surprises.
I smiled at how selective he was with his words. I remembered how the first prayer request I received gave me such powerful surges but it was nowhere near the prayer I am receiving now after centuries of sleep.
"You have made a request and it shall be answered" I gave my usual reply whenever I received a request and stalked away from him towards the entrance. "you are welcomed to watch" I smiled to him.
