Night and Pride stared at each other while Stripe was checking on Spot.
I just sat calmly by Pride licking a paw, which was oddly satisfying.
For some reason they seemed content to stare at each other for the moment making the rest of us nervous.
Night probably had the disadvantage since there was nowhere to fly, but those wings were sharp!
And I have no idea on Pride's power yet, I doubt it is just to glow like a flashlight.
"Snow what should we name our kittens?" Jagged asked.
I took a deep breath trying to think calm thoughts, but it failed and I found myself slamming a paw over his head with a crunch. Oh did I fracture his skull? Good maybe it will realign his brain cells.
"Oh I always heard couples argue but your my first mate! Our first fight, don't worry you can name them."
Two seconds later there was an ice cube next to me.
(Sorry Snow, we might get in trouble.)
Pride glanced over. "That brainless tuft of fur really is hindering us. I see why you tied him up." He rose to his paws, "teams are only as strong as their weakest links." Now he was standing by the ice cube looking at it.
Then his paw shot out and dug into the ice shattering it. Jagged landed back on his paws.
"Sorry Pride, it won't happen again I will keep our private life separate." He stuttered.
Pride sighed, "we really can't keep someone this dumb and expect issues not to rise."
His paw moved so fast I barely followed it. A second later the jaguar's head left its shoulders and fell to the ground in a pool of blood.
I froze for a second before forcing myself to breathe again. Wow he really just killed his teammate and I could barely follow the attack. I forced my fur to stay flat. Scary kitty. Light magic?
"Won't being down a cat put us at a disadvantage?" I tried to calmly ask.
I really would rather keep my head on my shoulders please.
(Snow, you sure we have to kill that specific cat?)
(Yep.)
(Okay, this is going to take some planning.)
"It won't" Pride seemed confident.
He didn't say more and I kept my mouth shut.
A few moments later he looked back at the other cats who were watching us with mixed expressions.
"Right, I still need to kill all of you as well." Pride stated.
Night's fur bristled as he shielded his comrades with his wings.
I frowned from the side, this won't do, I have two of them to keep alive. I need some entertainment after this is all over.
Night and Pride launched into a fight while the rest of us clung to the walls to stay out of their way. Then I saw something that made me shiver. Night's claws tore up Pride's side but a moment later Pride was completely healed.
(Uh Snow, he has regeneration as a power?)
Night also paused, "that is really just unfair, no way you just bonded a human and already unlocked your unique skill."
Pride laughed, "Spoken like your jealous."
"Is that why you aren't worried about killing your own team." Night hissed. "I can still kill you."
"I would love to see you try. I'm immortal you fool! Bow down beg forgiveness and I'll let your clan live as my slaves!"
(Immortal! That's a thing!)
(Only one other cat has ever had it, but yes, near immortal.)
(Near? Okay how do we kill a near immortal cat?)
(Fast)
(Not helpful)
Pride and Night circled each other. Surely Pride's healing had some kind of limit right? Amount of time he could keep it up?
Then there is Night with his sharp wings. What kind of unique skill would a winged cat have.
(Dumb cat, I thought you said no cat would unlock their unique skill fast enough to use in the game.)
(I said it was unlikely, not impossible)
I need to break this fight up and come back one at a time. I glanced over at the chemicals in my bag which had been strewn across the floor.
Picking them up wouldn't be fast enough. I frowned, the only two close enough to mix. My lip twitched then turned into a smile, yes those two should work, but I need a way to mix and not be near them.
I glanced at Pride, the hard part is making sure he does not notice or my head will be on the ground next.
I looked at Stripe, sorry pal this might hurt you a bit, or a lot.
I launched myself at him and ranked my claws across him. He rounded on me and hissed. Before he could retaliate I shoved into his side and sent us both rolling out the doorway.
His goody goody attitude is exactly what I need at the moment.
He leapt up and glared at me as I stopped attacking him for a moment. I just need a second be a good kitty and stay.
I made myself look menacing so he'd pause to calculate my moves. I'm glad he is a reactive fighter, but it is a bad habit, you should always strike first.
Then I focused on the split liquid around one of the other small bottles.
Property damage is really becoming an issue, maybe I should vote for a change in the CIA employee handbook?
A small ice shard formed from the liquid and pierced through the bottle.
Don't play with chemicals kids, or do, it is actually a very fun and expensive hobby. Your parents might try to buy you five horses to make you stop.
An earsplitting noise assaulted my ears as the shock wave completely buried the basement in rubble.
I seriously doubt it will do any long term damage to these kitties, but, it can stun them. Beside me Stripe yelped and dove into the rubble to find his teammates. I casually walked to the center of the explosion and dug up a lion.
The roof no longer existed and sunlight filled the room.
A black panther rose from the mess and shook dust from his fur. His eyes followed me as I finished pulling out the lion.
Darn! Even at the center of the explosion the lion was fine. He sneezed as he eyed the other cats. I watched him stumble slightly and quickly hid a grin. Test1 complete, okay lion you get to live for now.
"Don't think this is over." I hissed as I wrapped my tail around the lion and guided his away from the building.
The panther's eyes continued to follow me with a weird expression.
Had he seen the ice? Did it matter if he did? I shook my head slightly and walked through the last doorway.
Or at least, what was left of it. The roof was sideways on the part that still stood.
I'm not stupid enough to try to kill the lion right now, as great as that would be. He is recovering far too fast.
"Why are we leaving Snow!" He hissed at me.
I kept my voice casual, " Why fight a battle you might win, when tomorrow you can fight a battle you know you will win."
Of course it was a dumb bluff, if anything that was only possibly true for me.
Pride halted his ears back slightly and I turned to face him.
"I don't know how they did that explosion. So why play on their turf when you are mostly immortal and can pick a future turf."
Of course I didn't mention the turf was picked by Jagged and I caused the explosion. Snow contemplated my answer while his eyes remained narrow.
"You are talkative today, I like that better. For once your answers make sense." He stalked off back toward the stadium. "Remember I make the plans though, you are to follow."
