Grace was slightly hung over the next morning. Perhaps, she overdid the wine but a greasy breakfast made up for it perfectly. The groceries that Julie had called for her grandmother were still sitting in the fridge and they were for three people. That resulted in great having a hearty breakfast.
Greasy bacon, eggs, sausages that were crispy, and a New York bagel made the perfect breakfast for her. Somehow, she felt half of her headache, leaving as she consumed all the food. It was done while talking to her grandmother who was eating on the other side as well. Somehow, that made her life a little bit more normal, like her grandmother was still living in the same space until they had to hang up.
Staring ahead, she waited for the lift to reach her floor and just as the numbers turned to the one she was waiting for, the lift pinged lowly and the door opened.
To her surprise, Matthew was standing there and Penelope was nowhere to be seen.
