Falling in love over coke lines in a bathroom stall
"I think I just heard somebody snorting at the bathroom."
"Come again?"
"I think I might just have heard someone snorting at the bathroom."
"What are you saying right now?"
"Well, I am just saying that we are in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. So... yeah! I mean..."
"Yeah, I know. It means we can legally snort coke lines here actually."
"Yeah, and prostitution is legal too here. Isn't it amazing?"
"Honey, when you said that you wanted to go to the Netherlands for your trip for a vacation, I didn't think that you wanted to go for snorting coke lines and experiencing prostitution here. Even though it is all legal here, I didn't think about actually performing those things myself. I just thought about tulips and artistic florists."
"Huh? Then why the hell are we here to experience lots of things? We could choose to go to other cities! Why did you say that you must need to see Amsterdam then?"
"Honey! Cut it out now! This is not about snorting coke lines and having a prostitution moment! Amsterdam is the capital city of the Netherlands! Everybody wants to visit the biggest city in a country if you are traveling abroad!"
"Well, I mean... but it's Amsterdam. Not only can we enjoy drinking and sightseeing, but also we can do some unique legal actions which are only possible in this city in the world."
"That's not what I was going for when I decided to come here."
"Forget it. I am going to go to the hotel now."
"Oh, now what? are you pouting now?"
"Yes! I am going home."
"Honey!"
"Forget it. Enjoy your innocent legal night here. I will see you in the morning!"
"Holy shit! Honey! No way!"
"I am leaving here!"
John walked away from her without any hesitating.
Sarah looked at John walking away from her and decided to stay at the bar without him.
She didn't want to argue about things with him. She loved him.
She was disappointed about this night which was going to be a wonderful one if he didn't talk about inappropriate things.
She didn't have anybody to talk to, so she started to observe all her stuff on the table.
A cell phone. A tiny notebook with the itinerary in. A passport. A lipstick. And some Dutch coins. Plus the key of the hotel.
"Wait! John!"
Sarah picked up the key of the hotel, and looked around the bar to find John.
"There he is!"
John was heading to the bathroom of the bar.
Sarah paused.
"He is going to the bathroom... again?"
Sarah packed everything on the table in her purse, and quietly followed him.
But it is the man's bathroom.
When John disappeared into the man's bathroom, Sarah decided to wait outside.
"He is taking so long. Wait! Oh, I see now! He went back to that bathroom stall to snort coke lines, I think!!!"
Sarah opened up the door of the man's bathroom aggressively!
"John, you can't do this to me! If you try to...!"
John was sobbing at the corner beside the sink, alone.
"Honey? John?"
"I just, I just didn't want to be seen by other people because I feel so miserable now."
"What's wrong, honey? Why are you upset? Is that because of me?"
"No, it's just, I feel so disappointed about myself. I tried to quit, then I came here, and I thought I could be snorting coke lines again when I arrived here. And I feel so disappointed about myself. I can't quit. I can't quit!"
"Yes, you can, honey. You are strong and considerate. Aren't you strong, don't you think?"
"I am just, I am just so disappointed about myself. I tried to quit a month ago, and when we decided to come to the Netherlands, I started to think that you might have wanted to give me a chance to snort coke lines here legally. I thought you were being really considerate for me because I was having a hard time quitting snorting coke lines. But I was wrong. You just thought about tulips and nice florists here in the Netherlands. I am so disappointed about myself. I am such a fool."
How can Sarah not love John when he speaks like this?
Sarah felt so sorry because she was thinking that he went to the bathroom because he wanted to join the person snorting at a bathroom stall.
She spoke to John.
"John. Don't worry. I am not disappointed at you. I was a little angry, but you've been away from coke for a month successfully. I am so proud of you. As a gift for your one-month-long effort, I am giving you a chance to snort coke lines today. Is that going to be enough for you to stop sobbing and feel better?"
"Sob, sob. Oh, do you really mean it? Are you sure?"
"Yes, why not? Honey, we can do it together. You teach me."
Sarah knocks on each door in the bathroom. Nobody knocked back. So she tried to open each door at the bathroom.
One door was locked. She knocked on that again.
"Hello, is anybody in there? Excuse me! I can pay you, so can you share your coke lines please?"
