Chapter 2 - Bar Sulky Cat

James entered the bar named Sulky Cat when Paul was pouring a beverage into a glass.

Paul: You are late, James, again.

James: I am so sorry, Paul. I forgot to bring my phone, so I had to go back to my house to grab my phone.

Paul: You waid that last time too.

James: Yeah, I forget.

Paul: Ok, work.

James: Right away, sir.

Cecilia entered the bar by herself.

Paul is picking up the tab with a customer.

James is wiping glasses.

Cecilia sat at the bar table in front of the bartender, James.

Cecilia: Hi?

James: Hi, there. I believe we've met before.

Cecilia: Are you sure?

James: Yes, I know you.

Cecilia: Where did we meet?

James: Here, you were very drunk. You talked to me for a while.

Cecilia: Was I alone here?

James: Yeap. Wait a second. I received a call from my friend.

Cecilia: Ok, sure.

James: Excuse me for a minute.

Cecilia: Don't leave me here alone forever.

James: You bet. I will be back.

Cecilia: Ok.

James went to the kitchen inside. He dialed his friend, Chelsea.

James: Hey, Chelsea.

Chelsea: Hey, what's up?

James: She's here!

Chelsea: Nice!

James: What can I do now? I don't want to let her go!

Chelsea: You said that she was there every Friday. she will come back next Friday. Take it easy. She is a regular Friday night customer.

James: No, this is it. I want to take a step forward tonight.

Chelsea: Make a talk to her then.

James: Like how?

Chelsea: Bartenders are drinkers' friends. You just make a friendly talk.

James: I don't want to. I want to ask her out right away tonight.

Chelsea: Did she purchase her drink yet?

James: She didn't yet. I tried impress her by saying that we had talked to each other before. Now she thinks I know her well by having talked to her.

Chelsea: Get her name.

James: But how?

Chelsea: Take her credit card, then call her name friendly, but not awkwardly, do it naturally.

James: I don't know her name!

Chelsea: Before you swipe her credit card, check out her name on it. You will know her name by that. Make a quick move before you swipte it.

James: Alright. Thanks. I gotta go. Wish me luck.

Chelsea: Good luck!

James came back to Cecilia, waiting for him, looking at her phone.

Cecilia: I don't remember that at all. I come here alone quite often, but I don't think I have talked to you before. I know you work here, but you are not acquainted in any other way with me. I just order a drink from you. That is all.

James: Oh, yeah? Sure... By the way, can I get you something?

Cecilia: Yes, I'd like to have a glass of Cranberry Juice.

James: Do you have a credit card?

Cecilia: Yes, ah. But I am purchasing it with my cash.

James: We are actually preferring the card to the cash for today.

Cecilia: Oh, yeah? How come?

James: We recently changed the card purchaser machine, so we would like to have you as the first trier of that.

Cecilia: Oh, sure.

Ceclilia gave her credit card to James.

James took her card and a look at the card user's name very quickly. James wsiped the card, and gave her that back.

James: Here you go, Cecilia Bederman.

Cecilia: You know my full name?

James: I told you. We talked here before. You sat there.

James pointed at the chair a little farther away from them.

Cecilia: Holy crap. I don't really remember having talked to you.

James: You were quite drunk that night. You were like wasted quite a lot.

Cecilia: What was I talking to you?

James: You told me that you live here and work here. You talked about your stresses living here alone, not having anybody in your life to have romance with, blah blah.

Cecilia: Oh, that sounds quite like me. I do suffer from my boring love life.

James: Why don't you get a boyfriend?

Cecilia: I can't. My love life is boring. Not special at all. Always the same old thing. Go to work, come home, shower, sleep, or eat.

James: What kind of guy are you looking for?

Cecilia: Just a fun, and loving gentleman.

James: You said that that night too. Haha. You didn't change.

Cecilia: That's funny.

James: Shall we be friends now, like, officially?

Cecilia: Pardon me?

James: Can I have your phone number, Cecilia?

Cecilia: Of course. It is 020-55556-7778.

James took his phone out, and saved her number.

James: I will call you now.

Cecilia's phone rang, and she picked it up.

Cecilia: What is your name by the way? Sorry, but I really don't remember anything talking to you the other night.

James: My name is James Bailey.

Cecilia: Ok, I will save your number here.

James: Where? Pardon me?

Cecilia: Into the list of my friends.

James: Thanks. Can I call you on Monday?

Cecilia: Why on Monday? I work on Monday.

James: I didn't say that I wanted to meet you on Monday. I am just going to call you.

Cecilia: Ah, silly me. Ok. Sure.

James: Actually I don't work on Mondays.

Cecilia: Well, I do.

James: What time do you finish on Monday?

Cecilia: At 430.

James: I finish at 530 a.m. on Monday.

Cecilia: Ha! Cool working hours.

James: I will meet you here at 6 in the evening next Monday.

Cecilia: Sure.

James: Then I am going to ask you out then.

Cecilia: I thought you were already asking me out next Monday.

James: That is going to be a date.

Cecilia: Ok. That's fast.

James: I told you. We've talked before. I waited, I didn't hurry.

Cecilia: Yeah, right. I know.

James: You didn't drink any of that yet.

Cecilia: What is the matter?

James: I am about to give you a free shot. Finish that up. And this is on me.

Cecilia: Thanks. This is one good thing about having a bartender friend at the bar that I usually go to.

James: You bet.

Cecilia: Cheers.

Cecilia held the galss high and smiled at James, then drank it up to the bottom.
