Chapter 27 - No work no gain

But unfortunately, that was still below an 8th tier demonic beast whose whole body was an impenetrable fortress with claws long enough that it could be called a dagger, pulled old man Bael several feet back as the head-on collision ended in his defeat.

Staggering back slowing, old man Bael managed to gain his footing by implanting them deep in the ground.

Seeing that the force behind his attack was minuscule compared to the force he had clashed against, old man Bael fully activated his clan's hereditary bloodline as his body turned metallic with a golden shine around him.

Old man Bael knew he could only manage to hold them out for as much as he can, while he thought of a way to get his group to safety.

…......

Somewhere in the outer layer of the Deadly volcanic region

Elijah sat down underneath the shade of a tree, as he guided the mana to and fro through his body. The mana flowing through him as he guided it through the magic veins between his hands. Of course, each magic vein had a name of its own but Elijah couldn't bother to memorizing something like that since he already had them imprinted in his memories.

The fact that each drawing on the magicraft contained a vivid description of each magic vein to be used for different techniques. While this might be one of the hardest starting points an ascendant has to go through since they would need to learn to identify each veins one by one before they could proceed.

And since they didn't have a choice unless they didn't want to ascend a rank, devoting ones time in learning each magic veins one possessed was normal considering if what he got from his memories were true.

But unfortunately, they would always be someone who went against the rules, as they choose to study magicraft with their incomplete knowledge on the subject, thereby injuring themselves and in worst cases frying their magic veins.

But the experience was still weird to Elijah since it was like having deja vu as the knowledge he currently had felt like he had done it before, but obviously, he hadn't as this was his first time coming in contact with mana. But also allowed him to get a hang of it, directly reaching an upper level mastery on the beginner stage.

There were only 4 stages contained in the Broken mrtyu magicraft, each directly to the comprehension ability of the user;

The initial stage, the beginner stage, the intermediate stage and lastly, the perfection stage.

If Elijah could describe it, it would be the same as knowing how a flying mobile worked, before you could attempt to drive it. Achieving an upper level mastery was already an astonishing progress as Elijah had just started his control over mana six weeks ago.

Ascending to a tier 4 mortal ascendant rank wasn't that bad either, as the - Godly Broken mrtyu magicraft- Elijah practised allowed him to absorb mana much faster from the surroundings, abet his mana heart wasn't the only core that was being filled with mana, as even his yin core directly absorbed the mana that flowed into his body while filtering the yin energy from the rest, allowing the rest to flowed towards his mana heart.

But even with how rapidly the yin was absorbed from the environment, he had barely even filled up the core, only being able to accumulate about 2 drops of yin energy.

Although the process still felt slow, by midnight he felt that the amount of yin energy flowing into his body had tripled, although he knew the cause of this and had other knowledge of how to accumulate more yin energy, he just left trying it out later as he was still currently weak to do anything other than protecting himself.

Elijah didn't know how long he would have to stay in this forest, but he was sure of one thing, that he won't leave until he could protect himself from harm, not dying even at the hands of low ranked devils

''Sigh, I need those herbs if I want my legs to fully recover'' Elijah said as he couldn't continue his training if he doesn't fully heal his wounds, although the injury seemed to have completely covered up, he still felt some internal pains.

......…

''Finally'' Elijah could now somehow freely control the flow of yin energy in his body, as the requirement for practising the magicraft requires building a yin core. Elijah could now freely practised the technique, although his yin energy wasn't much, he could still imbued them with mana while embedding little amounts of yin energy.

Picking up the formless palms technique, Elijah was already aware of the movements, which contained some upper hands movement, mixed with some hand to hands combat techniques. Even though he had already gone through the movements before, it still felt weirdly strange as he occasionally found himself in weird postures, with minimal movements from his legs while his hands did all the work.

Covering his two hands with mana, mixed with small traces of yin energy flowing through it, Elijah moved according to the movements demonstrated in the magicraft, but after trying to stabilize both the amount of mana and yin energy he used at once, while keeping his magic veins open, he failed. Trying once more, Elijah only got the same results over and over again.

Success!!!!

After his umpteen attempt did Elijah managed to stabilize both his mana and yin energy output did he scream out in joy. Even after his multiple failed attempts, he still didn't feel discouraged as this was his first time attempting anything as unreal as this.

But compared to what Elijah had gotten from his memories, all he had to do was to mimic those understandings gotten from the ''Broken mrtyu scripture'' into his own, thereby knowing how his body would react to it and how he would handle it, although with some few changes.
