Leonard drove the speedboat away, and further into the ocean. He took a look at the compass, he was currently heading north. He needed to get rid of this kid, he had no more purpose. Before, he would be anxious when he was planning a kill, but now he felt strangely calm. He even had thoughts to spare about the future.
'I have Yukki… I'll cure her with the system, then we can do whatever we want! We won't be so restricted by circumstance. That locked tab… if it's actually magic research, then I think it would be a good idea to let Yukki handle it. But I would have to defeat a supernatural being…'
Disregarding where he would find a supernatural being, even if he found one, he truly didn't want to fight one. Why would he dare go up against someone with unknown supernatural powers unless he had no choice.
Leonard had reached far enough into the sea, there was nothing in sight except for the northwestern open sea.
He glanced over at Yukki. Why was she still not awake? He understood she was weak and must have gone through a lot, but it was a bit much if she was still asleep. He would have to give her extra special care later using system powers.
'Enough about that though, it was time to get rid of the boy. What was the point of keeping him? I didn't need any captives or slaves. This boy would just be living evidence of his crimes.'
Reaching over to the cramped space under the seats, he took out the boy. He was planning on attaching a weight to him and letting him sink to the bottom of the sea. It was better than simply drowning him because it would be better if his body didn't float.
Preferably, none of the three people on the speedboat would be seen again by the people in this city. He planned on moving away. After all, how long could he avoid danger in this place? This place was never safe, and after recent events, it was even worse for him. Now that he could obtain money, it was better to move away to a better place. He would just head to a poor neighborhood like this one whenever he wanted to commit some crimes to satisfy the system.
However, the [Tier 1 Regular] section of the store only sold simple tools and items. There was no such weight.
Leonard's eyes were attracted to the remaining chains on the boy. He had only broken them off the container, but the part that was attached to his limbs was still there. After all, he couldn't simply shatter it.
'Would the remaining metal be enough to make his body float?
He wouldn't test it, because he knew it was going to be a pain to get him back if he did end up floating. Neither would he just throw him in the water.
All he wants is for the boy to disappear, both dead and non-recognizable. He couldn't just dismember and shred his body, that would leave blood all over the boat.
'...Why CAN'T I drown him?'
Leonard grabbed at the boy, lifting him up off the ground and onto a seat. The duct tape around his limbs had already come undone, but that was expected. It was duct tape. It had already served its purpose. Seeing as the boy was already free, he might as well directly order him.
"Look here!" The boy had only a glance of hesitation before he faced Leonard.
"Not like that!" Leonard rebuked. "Wha-" The boy was visibly confused.
"Turn around!" Leonard ordered. "Look at the sea. You see that? That's where we're going " The boy looked intently where Leonard was pointing. There was nothing.
There was also no real point in deceiving the boy to sneak attack him. Leonard could easily overpower him. This was just Leonard practicing his acting skills.
Leonard shook his head as he pushed the boy's head in the water!
With a swift motion, Leonard held the head with one arm, both arms with one arm, and his legs with one leg. Just like that, he could not be resisted.
…
A few moments later, there was a drowned body sinking down to the sea. It wouldn't sink naturally, but Leonard had tied a bag of nails to it causing it to sink. This was Leonard's idea of a makeshift weight. Of course, this little trick here cost Leonard, but he simply didn't care that system items were overpriced.
'What now?' Leonard was thinking. It would be for the best if he could just directly leave here, taking this speedboat away to another town. However, he knew this was impossible. This was a rented speedboat. Even disregarding that simply stealing it away would be a crime, a crime with evidence that he performed it, there was still the much more important fact that he simply couldn't take it away. There was a limit on how far he could bring this speedboat away from the store he rented it from before it directly shuts down. He had to return the speedboat, it's not like there could be a captured party for him there. Well, not anytime soon. If he stayed in this town any longer, he had no clue what would happen.
Not that he would stay here, he would try to leave as soon as possible. What was stopping him was the lack of transportation. Many usable methods of transportation would be troublesome because of the situation with Yukki. The crucial point is that he could not let anyone recognize Yukki. What would anyone who knows that Yukki was kidnapped think if they saw her? Everything would be obvious, and his efforts would have been for nothing.
Leonard shook his head. He was overthinking things. It was fine right now, he still had time to plan. Regarding a disguise, it wasn't too hard to make Yukki look different. To begin with, there was likely no one familiar with her face except for him and her school peers. Perhaps the gangsters who took her have some impression of her looks, but that's why he was changing her look up, right?
A simple visit to the system [Store] would fix this.
Leonard bought a mask and an oversized hoodie for Yukki. He bought clothes to replace her old ones with.
As he was changing her, Leonard thought about her health. It was clearly getting worse, he had to do something. He did plan to put her in a reputable hospital that'll take good care of her, it'll be easy once he has more money.
At the end of the day though, that would just be… a "normal" measure. It isn't that regular things should be ignored, just that it could not make the crucial difference. Leonard was looking forward to when both measures are combined well.
He had gone through his shop a couple of times already. There were quite a lot of items, too many to list, but he still could remember the important items. The only thing that had any hope of directly helping her right now his healing ointment. It seemed that it was more about bruises or injuries, but it was still under the Mystical section. It worked wonders on him, he figured it should help his sister.
Leonard undressed her and took out the remaining healing ointment, and started rubbing it on his sister. He would just rub it on her entire body, not just the bruises. He figured if it had a cnahce to cure her illness, then he better try.
Leonard sighed.
...…
'What…' Yukki's mind roamed around. She had been feeling absolutely horrible. Once she got kidnapped, she really couldn't handle it anymore. Her body ached, she felt like a log, and mentally she was depressed. Recently, she was going unconscious whenever she got too stressed.
Yukki slowly opened her eyes, her vision still blurry. She lay still, thinking. 'The last thing… the last thing… There was a man saving us…?'
Whenever she thought back to her last memory, her mind strangely thought of Leonard.
She looked down at her body, she was dressed in a completely different set of clothes, and there was a mask and hoodie near her. 'who…' She looked up.
Both Leonard and Yukki's eyes meet each other at the same time.
