Chapter 3

Still, half dazed by the fact that I was surrounded by a pack of werewolves. I almost didn't register what he said. Although him mentioning Firstborns stirred something inside me that felt familiar. "What exactly are Firstborns?" I asked numbly. I was still thinking of a way to get out of there as soon as possible, but it felt like I had just woken up from a nap and didn't even know what year it was.

"Well I'm pleased you asked, Firstborns are direct descendants of Van Helsing himself. Not the monster hunter, though they are related." Dailin replied with a look of disgust. "they are the self-righteous assholes who think it's their job to stop those of us who want to have a little bit of fun. Like us." He said pointing at himself and his crew, he looked like a toddler whose favourite toy had just been taken.

"Well in a nutshell I despise them." All of the sudden all three of my newly acquainted captors fell to the ground spasm racking through their bodies. He growled and called his crew forward. He pressed a button on his desk and the entire floor sank, bearing us down like an elevator. There was no sound of any engine running anywhere near us. The floor slid into a hollow in the far ground below with a soft hiss and then everything was quiet again. We must have been rather deep, I couldn't hear any sounds of the night outside, it kind of felt like a tomb. We stepped off the landing and I noticed we were in a basement kind of setup. The most terrifying was all the walls were covered in chains.

Dailin first chained Lupea up against the wall and then White, they were separated. Then he chained up himself. "As you probably know it's a full moon tonight, and you know what that means," Dailin said just as he closed the last lock. "The only reason why I hate the Firstborns is because their righteous 'rules' got my father killed." He continued. His face contorted, and he let loose a howl of pain. "Wait, so you're chaining yourselves up, to stop yourselves from hurting other people?" I asked as I started looking for ways out. "You know as werewolves can't control themselves when the full moon shines down on us and they become ruthless monsters." I continued, to buy myself time. "What?!" Dailin roared with laughter. "You have it all wrong, my dear friend."

I am not your fucking friend I thought as he continued. "We like hurting people, in fact, we are ruthless killers, as humans as well as werewolves. Unfortunately, there are those pompous twats out looking for us and I have no intention of dying any time soon. "But if you can't control yourselves how do you kill in werewolf form?" I asked. "We can control ourselves but when the full moon comes up we have no control," Lupea said struggling against her chains. "What's to stop 'The Wolf' just from ripping those chains out of the wall? They don't look very strong and the stories I've heard say werewolves are insanely strong." I asked now actually interested. "These are silver chains, werewolves aren't overly fond of silver," White said and then moaned as the chains dug deeper into his flesh. I kept searching for ways out now that I was free and safe from their claws.

"It's not going to work, I am the only way out of here," Dailin smirked as if he could read my mind. I saw a chain with a nice set of spikes on them with no occupants. I got an idea that would most likely get me a special place in hell right next to Dailin. I sat down in the wingback chair and made myself comfortable. "So how long does it usually take?" I asked reclining in the chair. As an answer, a giant howl split the eerie silence. I sat up straight looking at the raiders and where they used to be three savage wolves were glaring at me their eyes filled with absolute hate. Just like that, I was stuck in a basement full of man-eating werewolves that could easily crush me in their jaws, with teeth the size of hunting daggers.

The wolves struggled against the chains, but true to their word, the chains did not break. I looked down at the desk and started looking for the button. Just as I was about to push it Dailin dove me of the chair. He had not chained himself completely.

I grabbed the empty chair and hit Dailin over the head with it. Then I jumped on his back. In hindsight, this was not a great idea and I'm lucky I am not dead. I curled the chain around his throat and pulled, the chain having spikes had its advantages. After a couple of seconds, I felt Dailin go limp and released before I completely killed him. I moved back to the desk and pressed the button, the elevator floor started moving upwards. As I stepped off the landing when it came to a standstill, I started running.

I found my way out of the enormous house and found that I was not dressed for running, I had been stripped of my working clothes and was dressed in a white overall. Those idiots had dressed me as if preparing me for the looney bin. As it wouldn't be a psychopath's house without it, the mansion was surrounded by a forest, most of the trees closest to the house were dead. I ran deep into the forest. I kept running, snagging my clothes on branches and bushes, I ran until I couldn't breathe anymore. I didn't see the low hanging branch until it was too late, I hit the branch at full force, doubled over in pain, and then passed out.

I woke up with a beautiful face leaning over me. Her brown hair framed her face beautifully with eyes a soft azure bluer, she had a splash of freckles over her nose and cheeks. As she smiled she showed off her dimples and I honestly thought I was dead. "Hi there, I thought I had lost you for a second." She said in a sweet alto, "I found you out in the woods this morning, your clothes were torn beyond repair and you were lying half frozen to death in a ditch." She gave me a caring glance before standing again and moving around the room.

As I got up I saw that all my bruises and wounds new and old had been cleaned and bandaged. I was also wearing new clothes. I stood up and went searching for a bathroom, the girl noticed and showed me where to find it. Just before I got out I heard a scream. I ran out and was greeted by a pole in the face. The last thing I saw was a giant figure leaning over me and mumbling something that sounded like oops.
