While William glared at the rag-dolled gorilla which flew towards his way, he felt utterly stripped out of options. This dilemma was painfully unexpected, so it was difficult to find a solution.
Or so he thought... the boy didn't have any time to escape, but yet he still became airborne, somehow? Everything happened too fast, so it was tricky to figure out the cause.
Thankfully, this fate wasn't a product of the gorilla's brute strength, no. Although what actually happened was still a blur, he felt certain that something had violently grabbed his waist!
Towards of which, he cussed. "Fuck's sake! That burns!"
This odd fate inflamed all of his sprains and bruises, so it was even harder to figure out these surroundings, as his attention leaned towards pain even while he flew.
It was hard to focus, but a couple of odd characteristics still managed to catch his attention. That is, before he crashed against the rough mud.
In response, he thought. "Can't be true... she's not that skilled, is she?"
It was not that he tried to discredit the other, but the scene which just happened, seemed too complicated.
Olivia had soared the air just a moment ago, thanks to a dramatic leap. In that swift flight, she had been in mid transformation towards her snakezoid form.
Upon the first opportunity, she had grabbed the boy with her long, scaly tail. And once this same tail transformed into its full, seven-foot long length, the lady had enough strength to toss William away from danger.
Such a reaction required a sharpened mind and equally aggressive reflexes, especially since she risked more than the naked eye could capture.
Olivia used her long, spike-shaped arms to attack the airborne gorilla.
Admittedly, she saw the target's fast-paced momentum as an advantage, as her punch would prove lethal regardless of the dedicated effort.
It also meant that one wrong move could have broken a few of her bones, but thankfully she worked quickly. Quite some durability was required to clash against a fat ape.
With all of these actions combined, the albino snake's counter attack was reasonably tricky, especially to pull off. William was rightfully worried.
That was why he thought, "I hope she's alive, that was nuts!"
Three bodies crashed and tumbled across the mud, one of them had a hole across its chest. It was confirmed who suffered such damage, once Olivia stood up straight. She was muddy but thankfully healthy.
William crawled towards the other, and then he hollered. "I can't believe you did that! It was kinda cool."
Although she accepted that sweet gesture, the lady still shouted. "These mud lovers are strong, I told you that it's stupid to fight them!"
"Bla-bla," The younger one mocked.
It seemed as if he wasn't intimidated by the albino snake's seven-foot tall figure, but in actuality he felt too mentally drained to be scared.
However, he could insist. "You just made my job easier, now let me burn that other dumbass' brain too."
Unnecessarily, William squatted down right after he cut the conversation short. Squats didn't aid his neuro-shocks whatsoever, but yet he almost saw it necessary to behave in this manner.
That didn't matter much right now, especially since there were other matters which demanded attention, like his fading senses of focus.
At this point, only the divine knew how many neuro-shocks he unleashed, so his mental tiredness was acceptable.
"Guh... I can't quit now! Can't be that hard to outsmart a furry bastard." He thought.
The boy was dedicated to unleash a few more neuro-shocks. Specifically, towards the only other gorilla which remained on top of the bone-pile.
In cooperation, the invisible attack made its way towards the target under one second. This time around, he wanted to be quicker.
Which was why William put in more effort to concentrate, he wanted to push forward the few senses of focus he had left.
As if in cooperation with that effort, a new tab spread across his vision, right after a neuro-shock crashed on the enemy's brain. Seemingly, this window of information was tremendously useful.
"Now this is what I want," The snakezoid swiftly celebrated.
But since he lightly shouted, this new tab almost disappeared, intense focus was necessary to bring it back.
An image seemingly featured the enemy's brain, through a detailed visual presentation. There even were percentage rates which cited the same mind's vulnerabilities.
The brain sections, or lobes as they're called scientifically, were each categorized in different colours.
In this case, he noticed that the red-coated portion was the weakest. It was less complex, and not quite neurologically dense.
Specifically, its protective barriers were down to twenty-four percent. The resistance wasn't strong whatsoever.
"Haha! I figured you out, ape." The younger one joyfully thought.
For a second, he was intrigued by how the enemy's mind was shaped a lot like that of a human's, but he didn't want to get distracted by that fact. Instead, William instantly unleashed another neuro-shock, and aimed at the red-coloured lobe this time.
Of course the enemy's brain wasn't actually painted with several colours, the system just did her best to categorize the sections.
However, after this one attack successfully crashed on the primate, the results turned out dire. The scene wasn't horrid in the exterior, but still, a lot went on.
"God! That's disgusting..." William whispered.
The visual tab that was spread across his vision, gave an excellent view of how that red lobe had been punctured. Surely, that concentrated attack worked wonders!
After a blink, the system notified. [Your last impact has swollen the target's brain, so the blood flow through the ape's head has been halted. A swollen mind won't allow a steady stream.]
"Huh... is that good?" He half-consciously asked.
It was tricky to understand what that was all about, but thankfully the lady in his head elaborated.
[Now, one of your enemies can officially be labelled as brain dead.] She added.
The concept behind this matter was interesting, but of course William was reward oriented, so he expected that considerable sum.
"Okay so... points?" He pressured.
Unapologetically, the system reminded. [You only brain-fried two mud apes, and your friend helped you kill one of them. You need to find the third opponent.]
It was easy to figure out who the dark-furred primate was. One enemy had made a random dash moments ago, and faded away in the tunnel's massive landscape.
William felt how a headache developed, as he understood the severity. Now, if he wished to obtain the reward, he had to chase some flea-bag around.
In other words, this case progressively became a dilemma. Yet the boy was conscious enough to figure out another idea, but it wasn't perhaps the best.
Regardless, he had to give it a shot. That was why his attention darted towards Olivia, she could help.
"Toss me as high as you can, now! And uh catch me too... don't forget that last part." He requested.
"I don't even wanna know what you want to do, you're weird." The albino snake harassed.
Afterwards, with a visible rate of irritation, she slithered towards the boy and tied her seven-foot long tail around the other's waist.
With quite a bit of muscle work, she flexed her body enough to toss the young one upwards. It required a lot of effort, especially since she had to roll across the mud, just to build up enough momentum.
But once Olivia's irritation was considered, the lady tossed him higher than initially planned. Perhaps that wasn't the greatest act coming from a healer, but it was well-deserved.
Anyway, William flew about fifteen feet above the ground, high enough to figure that his plan was plausible. As in the far distance, he spotted the mindless gorilla.
"Haha!" The madman laughed.
Afterwards, he didn't hesitate to unleash a neuro-shock. Concentration was a necessity, but the target was too far away so he felt nervous about this shot.
Thankfully he knew where to attack, and planned to strike hard. The red lobe, or the frontal gyrus as it was scientifically called, seemed to be the weakest portion of a mud ape's brain.
That side was set as a target, regardless if he had a tab as a guide or not. So with every bit of his power, he focused the attack on that area.
In cooperation, the intelligence-oriented attack beamed straight towards the target.
One thing that proved helpful was the attribute's speed. It reached the enemy in just a couple of seconds, even though the ape had ran over two hundred meters away!
While William fell towards the ground, he was grasped by the lady's scaled embrace; they tumbled across the mud in exchange.
After a moment, he acknowledged that the neuro-shock had landed. Of course, what was left of his attention leaned towards that shot.
The functions which this punctured brain lobe represented, weren't important. Specifics didn't matter this time around, the delivered damage had more value in comparison.
Quite casually, the system notified. [You successfully ruptured a part of the mud ape's brain. Therefore the related side-task, has been marked as complete.]
Unapologetically, she also explained. [Four-hundred system points have been given to you as a reward. A hundred of them have been held back, because you didn't fight these apes alone.]
William wanted to complain, especially since he attempted dangerous plans just to succeed. But there were a couple of things that captured his attention.
Towards of which, he responded. "Uh oh... this is kinda nice."
Olivia had caught the free-falling boy, but that wasn't all. Specifically, the impact had forced these two to tangle up a bit too much.
Once the lady's strength was considered, it was obvious that she could have crushed the younger one... unless she transformed into her human-like form, which birthed their current issue.
"You better not move," The brunette stressed.
Since her fur coat had been tossed earlier on before the battle, it necessarily meant that she had been stripped mostly naked.
So now, the couple of friends were in a good, warm hug. One felt the other's soft skin, however, it was debatable regarding how much they enjoyed this... warmth.
"I can't even move, you're strangling me." William finally answered, under constricted breath.
Although this situation could have shifted towards a hotter pace, Olivia eventually insisted for the boy to close his eyes. Afterwards she loosened her death grip, and reached out for that fur coat.
"Are you good? Can I use my own eyes now?" He sassed.
With an apologetic tone, she chirped. "Yes yes, you can."
In that half-conscious matter, his eyes focused on the lady close by. She was clothed now, but the fur had left a great portion of her legs exposed.
Those fine-tuned, overly white coloured legs were attractive, yes. But with that coat on, she looked like a bear with shaved hind limbs.
"Glad you're ready, sasquatch." He joked.
William wanted to laugh as well, but he was spammed by a pop-up notification. A few paragraphs explained the recent rewards.
He had gotten a decent amount for that side task, but he also received system points for the actual kills. Brain dead animals were apparently considered carcasses.
However, in total he had received a seperate, six-hundred and seventy-five system points for that struggle. He would have gotten more, but these apes were killed with the lady's assistance.
Regardless, the snakezoid still expressed satisfaction. "Hmm... I can buy another brain power... thing now."
There was a lot to be happy about, likewise, a paragraph helped raise his enthusiasm.
It explained that he had a total of fourteen-hundred and fifty-five system points in his possession!
