Sometime later, Ian went to the Captain's cabin wondering why he hadn't come to check the goods to be loaded on the ship as he always did.
He knocked on the door but received no response. He knocked again, and when he didn't receive an answer again, he opened it and entered.
The first thing he saw was the mess on the floor from the scattered objects.
His gaze focused on the Captain, and then he noticed the bottle of brandy in front of him and the half-full glass Carter was holding.
"What happened in here, Captain?" he asked anxiously.
Carter looked at him with blurred eyes. "What happened, Ian?" he asked in a shaky voice.
"I asked what happened in here. Who threw down all this?"
"I threw them down, and don't ask another question," Carter told him sternly.
"Okay, Captain. Should I at least pick it all up from the floor? "
"No. Tell Serena to come and do it."
