Third person POV
The next day, at school, today is the election day for the student council. In the sophomore class, it was decided that Yuki would remain as student council president with a majority vote for his second term. But in the class for first-year students, most of Masayuki's classmates are talking about Masayuki becoming the class representative for them. Some objected due to Masayuki's amount of work on his plate.
But some insisted that it would be a good idea.
"Are you sure about that, guys?" Emiko asked them.
"Yeah, Masayuki-kun had a lot on his plate now," Handa added.
"Nah, it will be fine," replied one of their classmates. "Besides, our English club president is that capable."
At the same time, thanks to Masayuki's English Club, the English exam scores of those who joined the club had risen significantly. Some started to communicate in English more fluently than ever. Masayuki also introduced English-dub videos and songs for them to try in order to boost their fluency rates. The biracial student used his phone and laptop to play these new mediums for language learning.
But back at the election day for student council members, Masayuki overheard their conversation. So, he stood up and went to them. "Hey, what are you guys talking about?"
"Oh, it's just you becoming representative of our class to the student council," replied one of their classmates.
"Hey, I am not sure if that one was a viable one," Souya objected.
"It will be fine," answered one of the female students to her.
"I am not sure if I am capable of running as the class representative, you guys," Masayuki replied while doubting his capability.
"I'm sure you'll handle it, my friend," another classmate replied back in assurance.
And so, before class time began, all of the students in class began their voting. Masayuki, Souya, and another student candidate are in the candidates list. All of them began writing and casting their votes for them. Whoever had the highest number of votes wins the election. Handa and Emiko voted for Souya, while Masayuki voted for the third student candidate. Souya secretly voted for Masayuki.
Later on, after all of the students had cast their votes, the results were in:
Masayuki: 11
Souya: 5
Another student candidate: 4
Upon seeing the results on the chalkboard, Masayuki was shocked to see that he had won the election. "No way…"
And so, the entire class applauded his unexpected victory in the election.
Masayuki couldn't do anything about this and just accepted it. "I'll do my best in my position as Class Representative for this class," he said to them in a position of swearing an oath for office. As a result, Masayuki was now Class Representative for the first-year class.
Later after class and before lunch time, two from the first-year class reported this to Yuki, who was in the meeting room of the Student Council. Yuki was surprised to hear that his close friend, kouhai, and ally was elected as Class Representative for the first-year class but was happy for that. Masayuki, meanwhile, felt overwhelmed by his new and additional position.
