Chapter 80 - Chapter 80 – Some Advice from Mayuko

Third person POV

Later, at lunchtime, Masayuki, alongside Emiko, Handa, Souya, and Momiji, are at the school rooftop eating their lunch. The bento boxes of Masayuki and Emiko had some Chicken Curry and steamed rice, while Handa's had a Japanese omelette made by Tohru this morning. As his sister and friends ate their lunch, Masayuki said to them how his plate of responsibilities had been made more heavier with his position as Class Representative for the Student Council.

"Yeah, we know," Momiji responded back with sympathy for him.

"It was hard for you to keep up with your responsibilities, right?" Emiko added with concern for her older brother.

"Yes, but I had to take it so our friends would not be upset or disappointed nor their efforts go to waste," responded Masayuki back while eating his meal.

The young half-Filipino and half-Japanese then opened his water bottle and drank some water to quench his thirst.

"Actually, I voted for Masayuki, you guys," Souya said to them, before snickering mischievously.

Hearing that made Masayuki almost choke on his water.

"What?! You did that, Souya-chan?" Masayuki asked her in response.

"Yup, sorry, y'all," Souya replied back with carefree.

 "Man, oh, well…"

After that, Mayuko came and greeted them. Masayuki and the others heard that and looked at her.

"Oh, hi there, Mayuko-sensei," Handa responded.

"Have you eaten yet?" Masayuki thoughtfully asked her with positivity.

"Yes, I did," Mayuko replied, before going towards them and sat down next to Momiji. "So, I heard that Masayuki was elected Class Representative for the first-year class. Is that true?"

"Yes, Masayuki-kun did," answered Souya back, "and it seems that he had difficulty in his plate of responsibilities and everything, sensei."

Masayuki then confirmed that to be honest with her.

Mayuko understood that, and she gave Masayuki some advice: to do his best and not overwork, for life might be short, but it would be shorter if you work too much in a short period of time.

Masayuki and the others listened to her attentively, and Masayuki was deeply impacted by her advice, now reflecting on his mundane, busy days with school, hobbies, and two part-time jobs. Because of this, Masayuki stood up and said to Mayuko brightly, "Thank you so much, Mayuko-sensei, for telling me that. I realized that most of my active time had been consumed by his daily responsibilities and that I needed some time off from those things."

Masayuki knew Mayuko's name from Tohru, Kyo, and Yuki.

"You're welcome, Honda-san," replied Mayuko back while standing up. "I may not be your teacher by class, but I am willing to help you and give you some advice. Thank you for your time here. Go back to class when lunchtime is over, okay?"

Masayuki and his group then said yes together.

With that, Mayuko left the school rooftop.

At the same time, Tohru and Kyo, alongside Saki and Arisa, were informed by Yuki about Masayuki's role as Class Representative for his class to the Student Council. Tohru and the others were stunned, and Tohru became worried for Masayuki's well-being of another responsibility on him. The Prince Yuki Fan Club, however, were pissed off that the class for first-year students had voted for Masayuki as their Class Representative. Those girls didn't like what Masayuki's classmates did to him, for they despised him well and with hostility.
