One day, someone came to Shigure's house. That someone was a man, and he was there for one reason: to meet up with Kyo. So, he rang the doorbell, and Tohru picked it up in response. "Um, who are you?" she asked him.
"Hello there," the man, who was Kazuma Sohma, replied back nicely. "I'm Sohma Kazuma, and I am here to see someone today."
The weather is cloudy and has some chances to rain.
"Oh, okay," Tohru responded, "come in."
Kazuma did so, and Tohru closed the door.
In the dining room, Masayuki, Emiko, Handa, and Yuki are sitting while doing their own thing. Masayuki and Emiko were playing games in their smartphones while Yuki was watching their gameplays out of curiosity. Handa is reading his book on pet animals. Kyo, on the other hand, was in his room doing something. Then, Tohru and Kazuma entered the dining room, and Tohru said to them, "Hey, guys, someone is here to see someone else."
Hearing that, they looked at them.
Masayuki and Emiko were surprised to see Kazuma, whom they never seen or met before.
Handa was happy while Yuki was stunned.
"Hello there, Handa-kun, Yuki-kun," Kazuma said to Handa and Yuki. "How are you two?"
Tohru was stunned to hear Kazuma knowing her friends' names, so she looked at him. "Woah, really? You know them?"
Kazuma then looked at her back. "Yes, I know them very well. In fact, Handa-kun is my adoptive son."
Tohru, Masayuki, and Emiko are very surprised to hear that fact because they thought Handa have parents of his own.
But no, Handa's mother passed away, and his father disowned and cut him off, and as a result, Kazuma took him and Kyo in after their mother's funeral.
So, Handa explained to them about it without any intention of skipping out any important information of his childhood with Kazuma. A few minutes later, Masayuki, Emiko, and Tohru now got it while processing the information. Then, Handa apologized to Emiko for lying to her while on their date at the Ferris Wheel. "It's okay," replied Emiko with meek assurance of her friendship with him, "I truly understand."
Masayuki then nodded to support his sister's assurance.
"Thanks, Emiko-chan," Handa replied with a smile.
Kazuma was stunned to see that his adoptive son was friends with Masayuki and Emiko. "You're friends with them? Are they from the Sohma family, too?"
"No, they are from the outside of the family," Yuki responded to this, "and so this girl here."
He then referred to Tohru for the last part of his statement. "This is Tohru Honda. She's my friend."
"Nice to meet you, Kazuma-san," Tohru said to Kazuma with a quick and deep bow as a greeting.
"Nice to meet you, too," Kazuma replied back with a smile.
He then looked at Masayuki and Emiko. "And both of you are?"
"We are her cousins," Masayuki replied back positively and nicely. "My name is Masayuki Honda, or full name: Masayuki Torre Roxas-Honda. It's a pleasure to meet you."
"My name is Emiko Selena Roxas-Honda," Emiko added with a quick and deep bow as a greeting. "It's a pleasure to meet you, too."
"Me too as well," Kazuma replied back. "My name is Kazuma Sohma. Your names are pretty long."
"Yes, they are not Japanese citizens, actually," Yuki explained in response.
"They're both Filipinos by citizenship," Tohru added.
Kazuma was surprised to hear that and couldn't believe that Handa's friends are foreigners by citizenship. "Wow, amazing…"
He then looked at Masayuki and Emiko. "Are you two born in the Philippines?"
"I was," Masayuki replied back strongly, "but my younger sister here was born here in Tokyo, Japan."
"Ah, okay then."
"They're both my childhood friends, too," Handa responded.
Kazuma looked at him. "Woah, really? I though they're just regular friends of yours."
Handa then shook his head. "No, I had known them since middle school."
Kazuma gets it fast. "Ah, that's why."
At this point, Kyo was not aware of his adoptive father's visit in that house. Kagura, meanwhile, was getting some fresh air at the balcony of the house. Shigure was at Hatori's house within the Sohma estate.
