Time had passed, and one day, as Masayuki was cooking dinner at their apartment home after work, his phone was ringing. Upon hearing that, he left his boiling food in a low heat, grabbed his phone, and answered the call, "Hello?"
"Good evening, Masayuki," Hatori replied.
"Oh, hey, Hatori-san," Masayuki responded upon recognizing Hatori's voice very fast. "What is it?"
"Are you free tomorrow?" Hatori asked.
"Well, um," Masayuki replied back, "tomorrow is a full day off from my part-time job, so, sure. Why?"
"Me, Tohru, Kyo, Handa, and Shigure will go to one of our family's vacation houses for an overnight stay," Hatori responded back as he reclined on his chair. "Do you want to come?"
"Woah, what? For real?" Masayuki replied with a surprised look on his face.
"Yes, just send the address of your apartment to me via text message," Hatori replied back, "and I'll pick you and Emiko up and before I would go to Shigure's house. Then, I'll come back to Shigure's house again to p-"
"Oh! I forgot," Masayuki interrupted in response, "my dad had a day-off tomorrow, so he'll pick me and Emiko in the morning. Just go straight to Shigure-san's house instead."
"I see," Hatori responded back. "Do you have a father?"
"Yes, and his name is Pablo Honda," Masayuki replied with an explanation.
"Strange name," replied Hatori.
"Well, the thing is," Masayuki admitted, "he's a foreigner, and a Filipino."
"Wow, a Filipino?" Hatori responded back. "So that means you're a biracial?"
Masayuki then nodded. "Yes. Don't worry, I'll tell him about it later."
"Okay, good night," Hatori replied back.
"Good night and thank you," Masayuki responded back, before he and Hatori ended their conversation on the phone.
After that, Masayuki put down his phone on the kitchen counter and went back cooking dinner for himself and Emiko.
Shortly thereafter, at the dining table, while they are eating, Emiko was surprised to hear from her older brother that they will go to one of the Sohmas' vacation house.
"We're going? Tomorrow?" she asked.
Smiling at her, Masayuki replied, "Yes, and I hoped that dad will join in, too."
"Wow, that sounds delightful," Emiko replied back delightfully. She then became concerned and continued, "But, how about big sis and elder brother?"
"Well, I'm not sure if they'll come or not," Masayuki responded while thinking. "I mean, they're always busy with university and stuff, just like every time."
"Yeah, you're right."
"But, I hoped so, so they could relax and destress from all that pressure."
"You're right, big brother."
Later after dinner, while Emiko was washing the dishes at the kitchen, Masayuki was having a phone conversation with Pablo at his bedroom, talking about the overnight tomorrow.
"Oh, an overnight trip?" Pablo asked. "To a friend's house?"
"Not really a friend's house," Masayuki replied back, "just a friend's vacation house."
"I see. Is it far? Where it was?"
"I'm not sure though."
"It's okay, it doesn't matter. I'll drive."
"Thanks, dad, tomorrow morning it is. I'll bring food, too."
"That'll be great, Masa, your friends will like it."
"Yes, I'll prepare the food by 5 or 6 tomorrow morning."
"Also, do you mind if your big sister and elder brother come with us?"
"Well, if they come, then I'll stay away from them then."
"Okay, whatever you say."
"Thank you."
"Okay, good night."
"Good night, dad."
Masayuki and Pablo then ended their conversation for the night.
After that, Masayuki send a message to Hatori, asking for the address of the vacation house.
Seconds later, Hatori responded by sending the address to him, and Masayuki eventually forwarded that message to his father.
By 9, at Tohru's grandfather's house, Pablo announced this to his family.
But, there are some objections. Tohru's aunt said that she can't come because she had to take care of her father, while Tohru's other cousins said that they won't come, claiming that they're too busy with classwork and other stuff.
"Come on, now," Pablo persuaded, "you should take a break for a while, otherwise, you'll experience burnout."
"Why we should do that?" Tohru's male cousin retorted back. "You're not our real father."
"I'll be going to my friend's house tomorrow to do some studying," Tohru's female cousin added, "so I can't come."
"Really?" Pablo retorted. "Again? Is that for real?"
"My friend needs my help," his stepdaughter responded back.
"Fine then," Pablo replied in annoyance. Then to Tohru's male cousin, "Okay, you'll come, so you could relax."
Eventually, his stepson reluctantly agreed with annoyance.
After that, Tohru's aunt asked, "So, when will you two leave tomorrow?"
"We'll leave after breakfast," answered Pablo back. Then to Tohru's male cousin, "Make sure you wake up before 7, okay?"
"Okay then," his stepson responded in giving in.
