Chapter 23 - Chapter 23 - Double Dates, part 2

While that happened, Masayuki and Souya went to an aquarium in the city while Tohru, Kyo, Yuki, and Kagura are at a cinema watching a movie. And as they look around, Masayuki suddenly saw a bunch of Filipino fishes swimming inside of the aquarium.

"What the…"?" he commented to himself in mild shock.

"What is it, Masayuki-kun?" Souya asked him in response.

Pointing at the said fishes, Masayuki answered back, "Those are actual fishes from my father's home country."

Looking at the fishes, Souya responded back, "How can you sure that those are Filipino fishes?"

"I can tell by their appearances and scales," replied Masayuki back, "and I also read about them in a book."

"Okay then," Souya responded in believing what Masayuki said to her.

Just then, a janitor went by, and Masayuki went up to him and asked him about the Filipino fishes in the tank.

"Oh, those?" the janitor positively responded back. "These are investments by our owner to increase sales and customers."

"Oh, really?" Masayuki responded back.

"Yes. Are you a Filipino as well?"

"Yes, but a biracial."

"Ah, I see. Well, have a nice day."

The janitor then left him and Souya.

Processing the information, Masayuki commented to himself, "Wow, I didn't know that."

And so, Masayuki and Souya spend the entire morning and noon going around the city buying things in cheap prices, and even ride a Ferris wheel after lunch. But, coincidentally, Handa and Emiko are also riding the same Ferris wheel as well, but, at a different time and part of the Ferris wheel.

And as they gaze at the city skyline, Souya said to Masayuki, "Wow, this is so beautiful."

"Yeah, it is," Masayuki resoponded while checking his phone.

But, suddenly, Souya was a bit down and uttered these words, "I wish John would see this."

"Did you say something?" Masayuki asked her.

Snapping out immediately, Souya are responded back, "Oh! Nothing, nothing at all."

"Oh, okay then."

Later once they had descended back down, Masayuki and Souya get off the Ferris wheel and went out into the amusement park to buy some snacks and ride other rides. They are having fun, with Masayuki fearing the roller coaster a lot and Souya screaming in it. But luckily, it didn't make them sick.

While that happened, Handa and Emiko are still at the Ferris wheel looking at the city skyline.

"So, how's your childhood, Handa-kun?" Emiko meekly asked Handa.

"Well," answered Handa back with a sad tone on his voice, "not good."

"Why?"

"My mother passed away, and my dad disowned for being a part of the zo-"

He then covered his mouth with his hands upon realizing that he almost say about the zodiac curse, a thing that he supposed to hide from Emiko and Masayuki.

"What?" Emiko responded back.

"Oh, nothing, nothing," Handa replied back with a lie as he removed his hands from his mouth. "What I supposed to say is that my mother passed away, and my father left me because he didn't want me at all."

"That's sad."

"I know, and I ended up living with Shigure-san."

"You mean that guy who owned Tohru's place?"

"Yes, despite being stupid and childish, he is a kind person."

"I see then."
