We had been fighting for a while and upon trying the fire arrow, my damage output increased to 3 per hit, but that also meant my chance increased by 6% with each arrow. Luckily the Draugr seemed to be pretty slow, although when it would use its sword the power in its attack was enough to destroy a tank, if they were in this world. I had fired 11 arrows at him, using the active skill, bringing his health down to 26 and my chance of taming him to 83%.
'Activate ring' I decided to call in my head, unsure of how I was actually supposed to use it.
{To activate ring you must be within 2 feet of target with ring equipped, aim at target with ring and say kneel "target species"}
'Well how could this go wrong' I thought sarcastically as I let the Draugr approach my location. He swung his sword as I dove behind him and quickly got up, pointed the ring at his head and yelled "Kneel Draugr".
The Draugr then turned around and fell to his knees sword in hand.
({Mission Accomplished}: Would you like to collect your rewards (y/n))
(Pets has been updated from 0/2 to now hold 1/2, host can call consciousness of pet in and out of the ring; when placed in the ring there is a 12 hour wait till you can summon them out of the ring)
Well that's a huge plus; I was wondering how I could walk through town without having my different pets following me around everywhere. Of coarse I decided to leave him out of the ring for now just in case we had to fight anything soon. I collected what arrows I could salvage, that hadn't broken off when fighting the Draugr. I now had 16 arrows from my original 24; meaning I'd eventually need to go buy more. I also decided not to take the sword from the Draugr just yet in case he needed to use it soon.
Finally, confirming what both Raoul and I had been thinking, the door began to open due to the guard no longer being there. Inside gold pieces lined the floor, along with broken swords, armor, jewels and a couple metal buckets. "He really did grab anything that was shiny" I commented.
"I'm sure we could find something useful, lets place everything into piles and pick out whatever is valuable." Raoul proceeded to pick up a sword near him and placed it into an open area on the ground, a couple feet away. I followed his example and we began the tedious task of sorting through our loot.
While it felt like hours, due to the simplicity of sorting the loot, it actually took us closer to 30 minutes to sort through everything. By the end of it the gold count was 436 pieces, which we split evenly getting 218 gold pieces each; bringing my total gold count to 227. Most of the armor and swords were complete junk while only a few were of notable quality; we decided to sell all the armor in hopes of getting something better at a blacksmith in town. The swords were slightly better with one being of intermediate quality; upon inspecting it I saw its stats were quite good.
{Intermediate Wolfbane Sword}
Durability: 76%... increases user agility and strength by 2 points while holding sword. (Active Ability: when activated increases agility and strength by 6 points total, while giving user vision in the night.)
With the decision that this was definitely a great fit for Raoul I decided to give it to him. While he did use a bow, if he ever got into a close up fight, this would be a great weapon that could clench him the victory. I grabbed the second best sword which had nothing notable at all.
{Common Longsword}
Durability: 88%... increases strength of user by 1.
I walked over to where my new companion the Draugr was standing and I decided we would trade swords until I found either a better one for him, or me. As if understanding what I wanted, he kneeled down and held out his sword in both hands. This time when inspected I saw just what separated a rare sword from an intermediate.
{Rare Sword of the Undead}
Durability: 98%... increases user stats by 5. (Active Ability: when activated calls all corpses within 30 feet of user to aid in fight.) (Passive Ability: With every 100 kills using this sword, it increases user stat buff by 1.)
