After trading weapons, Raoul and I decided to head home to prepare for the fight with the orcs. I was slowly gaining confidence once I had received the sword and my Draugr friend who I decided to call Draco, after my favorite character in a familiar book about wizards. Once we had made it to the staircase leading outside I called Draco into the ring and watched as he slowly vanished, while my ring began to glow. Of coarse Raoul now stood gawking, trying to understand what had just happened, while I explained the properties of the ring (while leaving out how I obtained it). From my little experience dealing with Draco, versus dealing with an Orc, I felt severely underpowered on that front alone. It was about time to see what this beast trainer guide was. "Collect quest rewards."

I put the point into stamina as information began to flood my brain causing me to collapse on the ground. The book, rather than physical was mental, and all the information it obtained automatically became engraved into my brain. It allowed me to recognize what stats my pets might have, as well as putting points into them as they received experience through killing different monsters. Only instead of experience like in a video game, this was akin to stealing their magic. Given there is magic in this world, everyone naturally absorbs magic into their bodies; and dependent on where you are, there is more magic in the air. When you do this subconsciously, it begins to improve your body in minor ways that would otherwise go unnoticed; this magic, upon your death, flows naturally back into the earth. With the technique I just learned, my pets and I would be able to absorb that magic into ourselves, slowly increasing our health. That's right, now I didn't have to solely rely on my soldier class to bring my health up.
I immediately went to summon the Draugr to try this new technique, and see just how drastic the changes might be; at least that was the plan, until I realized I still had quite a bit of time until I could bring him out to train with. That's when I noticed the time left until I could summon him said 6 hours… I had been passed out for 6 hours; 'wait what about Raoul'. I turned my head around and saw Raoul staring at me with a worried expression, due to me passing out in front of him while he had no idea what was going on. This would definitely take some explaining on my part.
I told him about the technique, so he might be able to one day use it too, and I summed it up to insight during the fight. He didn't seem to buy how I had gotten it, but he was amazed at the idea behind the technique, as its ability to increase your body, however minuscule it might be, was simply unheard of.
Given we weren't to far from town, we quickly returned with Freyja leading the way, happy to be of use again. We took about an hour and a half to get back within the walls of the castle, where we quickly collected our money for the herbs we had been collecting over the past few days. Nearby was a blacksmith who would hopefully be able to give us some good money for the random armor pieces.
We walked into the store and standing there to greet us was a fire giant, with its head nearly touching the ceiling. He gestured with his hand over to a smaller man with glasses behind the counter. 'Well not exactly what I'd expect from a blacksmith.' He was a small 5'7 man with brown shaggy hair and glasses; overall he was probably 140 pounds of pure bone.
"Hello welcome to my store, what can I do for you two?" The shopkeeper asked in a cheerful manner.
"Yes my friend and I recently found some armor out in the woods and we were hoping to sell it, as we have no use for so much armor." I quickly answered hoping he'd buy it off of us.
"Well honestly I'd be willing to buy any armor you got, but I cant offer a great price if the armor is of poor quality; I am looking for profit after all."
"Well if you could take a look, maybe you could let us know how much you'd be willing to pay for all of it?"
We placed the armor on the table as he began to inspect the armor with a magnifying glass of sorts. In the magnifying glass a glowing blue circle appeared confirming it was indeed magic. He looked like he had finished inspecting the armor as he nodded his head and looked up.
"Well honestly none of its really that great. I'd have to scrap all of it for materials and start over in hopes of getting money off of it. I can offer you 60 gold pieces for all of it. Sorry there really is no room for negotiation." He stated his price with a disappointed expression.
"We'll take it, thank you."
Honestly it was more than we were expecting to make. All the armor was of common quality and its durability was down; and like he said, he was trying to make a profit. In the end I had 282 gold pieces to spend on preparations for the fight to come.
