We love control, and if ever we have it, we think we are safe and therefore can do anything. People who have been in control for so long become disoriented when everything falls apart.
I stopped for some seconds and looked at the faces of Grace and Mike, they are scared to their bones and they don't even pretend to hide it. They no longer trust anyone, not really. At this point, who would? Grace has held on to her handbag all day, there must be something important inside, my guess is a gun. Mike too is carrying a gun, he always does but lacks the balls to use it. If Trust gives them any reason to make them believe he is the enemy when I'm not around, Grace won't hesitate to shoot him.
I stepped out and locked the door, walked to the garage and rode off to meet Big Boss.
