After a while everyone gathered at the temple arcade.
The villagers decided to prepare lunch for the students.
They prepared traditional dishes.
After lunch, in the late afternoon students and villagers interacted.
Sama talked to one of the villagers about the prayers they are offering.
"We are offering our prayers to God to bless us and protect our village from evil spirits." She replied.
"Evil spirits..?" Sama asked.
"Yes, we believe that this village is haunted by some evil spirits." The villager said.
"Why, I mean how can you be so sure that it is evil spirit" Sama asked.
"There are incidents that proves they are evil spirits." The villager said.
"Why do they haunt this village." Sama asked.
"I don't know the details, but there was a story I am hearing since I was a child. And the things I witnessed makes me want to believe it." The villager said.
"What is it" Sama asked.
"This ritual was started long ago. I heard it from my mother that there was a witch in our village. She came from a different place and settled in this village. She performs exorcism and summons evil spirits. Our village faced very hard situations after she came. So our ancestors decided to send her away. With the help of a cultivator they got rid of her. But the cultivator left the village immediately after sending her away. From that day evil spirits will come looking for her every year on this time. So we offer our prayers to our village God to protect us" the villager explained.
"What happened to the witch after that." Sama asked.
"No one knows what happened. Everyone has their own stories about that. Some says she went to the forest and disappeared. But someone said she turned into a tortoise and hiding somewhere." The villager said.
"Tortoise?? Do you know where she is hiding." Sama asked.
"You believe that? How can someone turn into a tortoise." The villager said.
"Anyways, don't go out alone at night. I heard that those evil spirits will feed on humans when they saw humans alone" the villager said.
"Only when alone" Sama asked.
"Yes, that's the reason why we are always together during this time of the year" the villager said.
"Is what you said correct.? I mean, are you sure the woman is a witch" Sama asked .
Sama thought that the villagers are mistaken about the witch and the witch they are talking about was may be the tortoise woman she met at night.
"Yes, this is what everyone knows." The villager said.
"Ok." Sama said.
Whatever Sama heard but she can't believe that the tortoise woman is a bad person.
She decided to talk to Ryan about this.
And wanted to pay a visit to the tortoise woman.
Sama suddenly remembered that the history of the of the village was engraved on the stones in the temple.
She thought she can have an answer after reading the engravings on the stones.
