Chapter 111 - The Hunt of a small prey

Running across through the blood-stained alleys. Eloisa moves swiftly but more important carefully. The sound of metal clashing, grunts and spells being casts still dominate the surroundings.

The small child moves with a sense of urgency. The determined eyes look around, alert for any possible movement.

Never had the child been in anything like this before. When she had to kill during her time living in these alleys. It was more of an instinctual response, the last gasp attempt to prevent her death.

Eloisa doesn't really remember much of her times cowering in the streets before. The trauma of being experimented upon had ironically saved her from the trauma of having to kill as a child.

This battlefield, this invasion, felt dangerous. Chaotic in nature, not knowing which blade or fight could be your last.

Many short sights passed by as she continued to move towards the Talvit estate.

Bodies being trampled upon.

The piercing screams that signal one's death.

Orcs and wraiths killing and being killed.

The always dim red light in the city became a little redder than before.

"Stay close, Araam." Eloisa says towards her one-eyed spirit. Trying to imitate a certain headless knight.

The also small, one-eyed spirit lands on top of the devil girl's shoulder. Obeying the wishes of its master.

"ARGH!" an orcish body is thrown against the wall before Eli. Creating a large dent, showing the huge amount of force used.

The small girl quickly hides behind the corner. Not even peeking, hoping that no one spots her.

The devil that threw the orcish invader to its death looks far more beast-like than actually devilish. It still has the horns that define the actual difference between devil and demon. But his head is entirely that of a wolf. His frame is larger, which is surprising seeing that he has a hunchback-like stature. The robe he wears is a familiar one, a red eye can be seen on the back of the white cloth.

*SNIFF* The feline-looking devil sniffs around trying to find other possible opponents. Not noticing anything, it starts to feed upon the orcish invader that he killed. Digging with his claws in the orc's chest to pull out his heart.

The feline-looking devil holds up the hearth in the air for a small moment. Just enough to make some blood drip into his mouth. As soon as the first drop of blood comes in contact with his feline lips, he quickly devours the hearth.

Then suddenly, the beast-like devil's eyes turn towards Eloisa's direction.

"What are you doing here?" It calls out in her direction.

Eloisa is shocked that she has been noticed. Trying to follow up on her promise with Idrilth, she sneakily walks backward. In an attempt to escape quietly.

A hand hidden underneath a white robe touches her small left shoulder. A quiet sloshing sound can be heard next to her. Turning around to look, she stares into gray eyes with violets veins, the rest of the face covered by a mask. The shimmer that Araam used to cover her is quickly dispelled, and she's now completely visible for all to see.

"What is this Hudan, why are you hanging around here and with a child nonetheless?" The wolf-like devil demands an answer.

"Ah, Botwolf it has been quite a while. I was looking for you." Hudan Hakel answers calmly.

Meanwhile, his grip on Eli has strengthened. Eli, who cannot place where she could possibly recognize the priest from, instinctually falls to her knees. Pure fear is the only thing on her mind right now. Her entire body is visibly shaking.

"You looked for me and brought a child?" The wolf-like devil replies, clearly not amused, a heavy gnarling sound accompanies his speech.

"Of course not, she's an old acquaintance of mine. One that I've longed to meet again for quite some time." He says, whilst one of his tentacles comes up and pats Eli's cheek. Leaving a splatter of blood behind on the cheek.

"Anyway, enough about this destined meeting. Treyah Tuldani has ordered every sight to return to the church." Hudan Hakel continues calmly.

"Shouldn't we be trying to stop these invaders? There won't be much left of the city if it continues like this."

"Everything that is destroyed can be rebuilt. However, we cannot allow Anima to reach what she actually wants. Besides, the first sight has given me permission to unleash the gargoyles."

"GRRRR" The wolf-like devil called Botwolf gnarls in response, showing clear hostility.

"As a sight yourself, you should bear responsibility for your duties, right?" Hudan asks Botwolf in a mocking tone.

"Keep your mocking words for yourself, abomination. Talking about responsibility should be the last thing you can talk about." Botwolf replies, looking at the shivering child in Hudan's hand.

"Release her." Botwolf demands in a low, beastlike tone.

"Why should I?"

"Do you think I am blind and deaf? She's under Talvit protection, I will not fight with them merely because of your greed"

"We don't have to fight any of them It's nothing unusually for children to disappear during a war, Just look at the corpses behind you" Hudan replies pointing out the corpses of children that have been killed already

"Besides it is not a matter of greed, it is a matter of necessity, Why should we allow the Talvits to have the only reincarnations in this city? Shouldn't we protect ourselves from any possible harm?" Hudan continues to, speak, trying to persuade his feline colleague before him.

"Very well then" Botwolf replies, seemingly agreeing with Hudan's argumentation

The wolf-like devil turns around and begins to howl loudly, The howl is infused with some form of mana as it carries a dim white glow with it

Hudan begins to pull Eli, grabbing her by the back of her neck. Eloisa who's heavily traumatized and still frozen in fear cannot do anything. She's simply dragged against her will.

Then 2 smaller arms surround her. Pulling her away from Hudan's grip. Familiar black hair, a boyish face about the same age as her with familiar cold eyes.

"Scream" speaking the same words he did back then.
