Chapter 10 - Ain't About You (WONHO 원호 ft. Kiiara)

I scribbled again on my pad that had been squished between Kookie and I. 'Can we talk later? Am tired.' Kookie wrapped me in a gentle hug, "Of course hyung, I'm sorry we kept you up. Do you want me to call the cute nurse for you?" I flushed red and nodded, the pain was becoming unbearable so I wrote another passage for him to show the nurse. 'Pain is 13/6 kookie -Hurts!' Their eyes both widened when they read my scale. "Shit. I'll go find that blue haired nurse, that's the one you were talking about correct?" Jeongguk nodded quickly, "Yeah. Nurse Min Yoongi, he's a dude. He understands."

Park Jimin's P.O.V.

It's been hours (minutes) since Seokjin left to get the nurse. Jeongguk had pressed the button a few times too but it was taking too long for someone to get here. The pain in my chest and wrist were getting worse, I felt as if someone was pouring molten metal over parts of me and the heat conflicted with cold flushes of ice water that pulsed through my veins. My eyes were watering and saliva gathered in my mouth, my stomach flipped and then flopped disgustingly; I only felt like this when I was about to puke everywhere. I had to get the tube out!

I grabbed frantically at the tube in my mouth to try and pull it out, Jeongguk tried to stop me so I moved my hands like I was puking. He knew what that meant, he'd seen me do it before, so as gently as you really can (which isn't gently at all) he pulled the tube from my throat. I choked on it and it made the feeling so much worse, it was less than three seconds after that when I brought up my stomach contents - all over Gukkie, over me, on the floor and all on the bed. It was humiliating. I couldn't stop crying or heaving, even after there wasn't anything left to vomit. The stomach acid in my stomach was burning my throat which made me whimper and cry more.

I kept making the sorry sign to Kookie in sign language while he rubbed my back and shoulders, keeping away from my neck. I still couldn't have people touch me too close to my neck without me freaking out unless it was a full hug, even then, if I didn't expect it I would sometimes have a panic attack over it.

"Well. That's not how you're supposed to take the tube out but I guess it's done now," a voice spoke from the doorway. "Nevermind. How about we get you boys cleaned up and temporarily relocated while I call someone to get this room back to rights?" I looked up through teary eyes and saw a blue haired person, I knew it was Nurse Min by his voice and I nodded. I tugged on my friends hand making him look at me, I screwed up my face and made a gesture for 'shower' and indicated for him to ask the nurse. "Jimin wants to know if he can have a shower or will give him a sponge bath?" Jeongguk's cheeky tone of voice earned him a short laugh from the Nurse and a slap on the back of the head from his elder brother.

"I'll get some assistance to shower him so-" Nurse Min was interrupted after he'd said I could be showered. "No! I'll help. I mean.. He doesn't like others seeing him but I think he would be okay with you and me. If that's alright? I'm sorry, I just, he's familiar with me and it could help stop him having a panic attack and-" Jeongguk blurted everything out as quickly as I had brought up the meagre remains from my stomach. Min Yoongi looked at me carefully then at Jeongguk. "Do you think you can lift him carefully? We don't want you tearing your stitches." Seokjin sighed from behind his younger brother. "You're an idiot Gukkie," he sighed, "you've got a wound and you still want to lift and press like you weren't just stabbed. For fucks sake." Seokjin turned to the blue haired man in our midst.

"Where do you want these puked on boys? That one *pokes his brothers shoulder* can walk himself and I'll carry this one, okay? Good. Now it's sorted where do you want them?" "Okay then, Jeongguk, Jimin, Seokjin. Follow me this way. We'll put you three doors down for now but I'd like to move you back here once the cleaners have been through." We all nodded and I whimpered painfully as Jeongguk's broad shouldered brother lifted me as carefully as he could in his arms, Nurse Min grabbing hold of my I.V. drip on its pole and we made our way to a clean room.

Rewind time to when Dr. Wang, Nurse Min, Jung Hoseok and Kim Namjoon enter Dr. Wang's Office

"The patient you came in with is suffering complications that may result in having to transfer him to somewhere that can better treat the trauma suffered. Can you tell me anything about Park Jimin's medical history?" A look of dread seeped into Jung Hoseok's eyes. I noticed Dr. Wang's lips twitch as he noticed, though I'm sure only he and I were able to tell it wasn't a pleasant smile.

NURSE MIN YOONGI'S P.O.V.

"Ah, hello, I'm Kim Namjoon. I was the one who found the boy on our jobsite. I can tell you what you need to know about tonight or Mayfuyu Sato, the initial responder, would be able to tell you more about the boys condition than Hoseok can, I believe." Replied the taller of the two, the red-head didn't speak and only looked down in his lap fidgeting with his fingers. I stared at Jung Hoseok until he must have felt it and looked up, locking eyes with him I raised an eyebrow in silent challenge but he refused to rise to the bait and stayed silent.

I made a point of moving the thick patient folder closer to Dr. Wang when I placed my bottle of water on the table which seemed to capture Mr Jung's attention and hold it. I spoke my next words loud enough for only my supervisor to hear, "A Jung Hoseok is mentioned by name in some of the earlier entries from before the patient was transferred to our Ilsan facility, you will find the last document interesting." Dr. Wang inclined his head to acknowledge he'd heard my words and he opened the file in front of him, turning pages trying to find the section he was looking for. "Mr. Jung I need you to be honest with me. What is the history between you and the patient you arrived with earlier in the ambulance. Mr. Park Jimin, I believe?"

Jung Hoseok's face blanched. Kim Namjoon watched his friend/co-worker curiously, reaching out to place his large hand on Hoseok's shoulder but was shaken off. After a few attempts to speak the red head finally found his words, but what he said had Namjoon's eyes widening in shock and something else I couldn't decipher. "A lifetime ago we were friends. We were the very best of friends until I chose to watch as he was destroyed by my.. other friends at the time. It took them three months to... to... Three months tops. They destroyed him. They stole Jimin's light, his laughter, his happiness. He stopped dancing, he stopped eating, he stopped talking.

"They broke him and made me watch.. I.. I just watched. I didn't do anything. I didn't stop them. I couldn't. Until Mayfuyu loaded him in the ambulance I thought Min was dead. He just vanished one day and I never saw him again. I looked for him, for his grave, anything. His family moved away, none of his friends or the school would talk to me anymore. I couldn't find a trace of him to tell him I'm... I'm..." Hoseok choked on his words.

Dr. Wang nodded solemnly. "I'm glad you were honest with me. Due to the fact that the Park Jimin in our care has a current restraining order against you, I am letting you know I can not give you any information about the patient's location or health unless the restraining order is lifted by the victim." I watched as Jung Hoseok's face fell, tears welling in his eyes which he didn't bother to wipe away. "I didn't know... I just... Will he be okay? I want- no- I need to explain everything - how sorry I am." His voice cracked as he begged and though it was entirely pitiful, I couldn't find it in me to care.

I knew he left things out when he told Dr. Wang his story - things I'd personally seen him do to the once cheerful Park Jimin. Dr. Wang shook his head negatively. "I'm afraid we cannot let you in the same ward as the patient. This would breach our responsibility to the patient as well as the restraining order he has in place against you." Hoseok begs now with his hands clasped as if in prayer on top of the table in front of him. "Can you at least tell me if Jimin's alive? Please?" Dr. Wang lets out a soft sigh, shaking his head. "The only thing I can say without breaching this order is to tell Mr. Kim Namjoon that the person found on his building site has been stabilized and has an eighty percent chance of survival if he wakes up."

I smile, the merest twitch of my lips, my love is such a soft touch. Kim Namjoon, however, looked completely stunned at the disclosure of the secrets he didn't know his friend had held so closely. Namjoon had just been exposed to life-changing information about his friends past. He would have never thought the older (by a few months) would ever be a bully, certainly not to the extent of someone losing their life over it... Who was his friend - really?

I felt my pager vibrate in short, sharp bursts which indicated an emergency. Pulling the device off my waistband I lit the screen with the push of a button and felt my breath catch when I saw the room number. 316. Dr. Wang grabbed my hand that held the pager and tilted it to face him, soft golden eyes assessed me with concern and I nodded, flickering my eyes to the two opposite us and back to the pager. "Excuse me, I have an emergency. Sir. Kim Namjoon, Jung Hoseok, my apologies!" As soon as Dr. Wang nodded I fled the room towards the patient we had been discussing and I all but ran into Kim Seokjin just up the hall from my destination.

As I approached him I called out, "Kim Seokjin, what happened?"
