Classes for the day were finally over, right as I was heading out the door I heard somebody call my name.
"Robby, wait for me!"
The person calling out to me was Callum my long time friend and roommate at the school we attend. He's your average person, well built, good looking, and popular with the class, maybe he's more of the popular kid. Personally I see myself as average, nothing special to note, brown hair, well built with some fat on me, and not particularly popular.
"What is it this time Cal? Some new online girlfriend?"
"Not this time! But I did get a new one how did you know?"
I sighed at the fact I somehow knew.
"If it's not that then what is it?"
"There's this new game by Rebound Studios and they just released a dedicated VR headset for it! it releases on Sunday."
Callum and I decided to meet up in front of the local game store on Sunday so he can help me buy the headset.
[Sunday 3rd Aug 20XX]
After waking up at 8AM and waiting 4 hours in line I finally arrived home with my headset in tow which comes pre installed with Rebound Studios' game, Yggdrasil's System, to break it down simply all players are given a unique ID and that ID decides which class systems you can play as, the rest is the standard RPG and MMO clichés.
"Alright Callum, I'll message you my player ID later"
"See you later Robby."
I booted up the game, and with it I got introduced to the lore of the world, the major cities, evil organizations, and more. I also got to learn that this game world is run by the players economy based and the world's story direction.
Soon I got greeted by the menu presenting me with three options.
[Login], [Options], and [Exit Game]
Logging into the game and creating my character which I kept faithful to my likeness with adjustments to my facial features. I was next decided on my handle, I spent a good while on this thinking of what wouldn't sound too weird like, Death Lord or Nav31_Knigh7 for example, I went with a simple name instead.
"Ryuk"
Then I got my true intro into the game, my [Class] selection. I was given the choice between 3 different [Classes] or [Systems] as this game calls it. They were [Summoner], [Blacksmith], and [Mage], I decided to look at what each one does... Oh they have rankings assigned to them? Seems as though [Blacksmith] is C tier, [Mage] is D-B tier then, finally [Summoner] is F-S tier!? Why is it such a high range of good to bad?
…
It seems that [Summoner] is as it says, I can summon forth creatures from special monster cores and special crystals made using alchemy which is accessible by learning the [Alchemist] system. [Blacksmiths] can make weapons and use them too but their stats are pitiful when benchmarked next to normal classes such as [Samurai] or [Paladin]. Then [Mage] was my final one, simple magic of 2 attributes are randomly given, so it seems you can become a healer with [Mage] if you acquire the light element out of the random pool of 6.
"Alright I've made my choice!"
