Chapter 107 - Chapter One-Hundred

The howling wind wrapping around his black form, Eskil lowered himself onto the snowy peaks of the mountain where the temple called Uppsala resided. Vegeir, his brother, tensed at his arrival and eyed him wearily. He was unsure of the reason for his visit, and seemed to be preparing for the worst.

Eskil chuckled, "Calm yourself, brother, I am not here for a fight today."

Vegeir shifted his weight. "I see that the curse has been broken. May I ask how that happened?" His eyes widened when Eskil chuckled. "What have you done to the slayer?"

Eskil glared at his younger brother. "You don't need to worry about her."

Vegeir climbed down from his perch. "Is she harmed?"

"No. She is very well."

He didn't believe him, Vegeir was worried about the little female slayer who had proved to be an excellent ally of his. If his brother's true form had been taken back, that meant the curse was broken and he would be able to harm a mortal again. Libelle could be in grave danger now, so where was she?

Eskil said, "Brother, I should really thank you."

"For what?"

"If you hadn't gotten involved with her and encouraged her to seek out the curse, I never would have found my lifemate."

Vegeir inhaled sharply. "Your lifemate? Who?"

Eskil smirked. "Who do you think?"

"It's not possible. Libelle? The slayer?"

Eskil nodded. "She'll be joining us here shortly."

Vegeir couldn't believe his ears; his elder brother had finally found his lifemate? The fact that his lifemate was a dragon slayer...it just didn't seem possible. Nevertheless, his brother's curse was broken and he looked happier than ever before.

"If you're wondering how the curse was broken, I honestly don't know. I was protecting her from a lunatic and it just happened." He sighed, "She wants me to wait for her here."

Vegeir tilted his head. "Why is she not with you?"

His brother's pearly white teeth glimmered with his smile. "She is clearing up a murder."

"You didn't?" Vegeir gasped.

Eskil laughed. "No, I didn't."

He smiled to himself, staring into the clouds as he reached his mind out to Libelle. Beloved, I am here.

Her mind reached out to his soon after. "I'll be there soon, my love."
