Over a time of 7 weeks, I was trained through multiple formalities and issues and the position of agents and about what happens afterlife. I have been quick to understand all my responsibilities and soon realised my 'job' seriousness.
[Recruit f-12526, are you ready for your first purging?]
I just nodded and prepared to enter the rift.
Soon a portal opened as I jumped into the portal feeling like a badass boy. I soon realized that the portal was fucked up as I noticed more and more cracks in the warp. What was going on?. Lucky for me, I found myself beside a man in knight armour. He wore a cape adorned with a dragon coiled symbol. He had spiky blonde hair with black edges and aquamarine eyes. His face was adorned by keen eyes and a sharp nose. His pale features seemed pale even for souls. His body looked seemingly perfect, except for a deep gash across his neck and a deep slash in his back.
Looking at the ghost, he remembered his briefing from the system.
// Flashback
[your target is named Kane. He is the adoptive son of a duke whose lover was raped by the lecherous first prince. In a fit of fury, he killed the prince, allowing the king to use this opportunity to kill his greatest threat to the throne, the duke. He was stripped of his knighthood and abused until being killed by hanging under the name of rebellion.]
"Woah"
(My brain literally melted trying to think of how to continue it, so I changed the circumstances)
"Hello." The man greeted me. He seemed dull and grim, not suitable to his glowing armour.
"Yes sir". I greet. He gave off an aura of superiority. "I just hope you can change my life for the better. I hope you can just marry Estella and kill that bastard king Leroy. I have no other prerequisites. Can you do that?".
Although not known to these souls, their will is the only thing that remains in this world, and it technically never happened. Their souls are actually already gone into the samsara cycle, with their wills powering the cycle with thoughts and feelings. What the agents of counter do is to counter the will's fate, at least in their eyes, while in reality, the agents just counter any souls strong enough to escape the cycle and lull them back into a happy illusion.
I'm really sick guys, so sorry if it's sort of random. I'll explain this later.
Thanks and goodbye.
Ciao.
