Chapter 22 - Chapter 22

In her fight against the scorpions an old couple died, and that broke Agaton's heart and she took an oath to protect and safeguard her serpents. One night she decided to go and fight the king of scorpions alone.

The fight got so bad that she almost lost the fight but a mesmerising black serpent came to her rescue, they could not defeat him, they only scared him to retreat. The black serpent transformed into her human form and she found that it was her elder sister Meddy. Meddy left the Nogase Mountain after Agaton have all the serpents the power to turn into humans.

They hugged and they did a little bit of chit chatting. The king of scorpions came at Agaton again and this time he had his entire kingdom with him. This time no one was there to save Agaton as her realm was trapped inside into some kind of an enchantment.

By the way Agaton was running, my heart could remember the feeling of that pain. She did not want to die, she cried out for help but no one came, she found herself at the blue sea. She looked at the reflection on the water and she stood still and she told herself that she is a shapeshifting serpent and she doesn't run away from her enemy instead she faces them with pride so, she took her serpent form.

The scorpions were giving Agaton a hard time, despite Agaton being extremely powerful she still could not keep up with the scorpions. An extremely handsome man came to her rescue. The guy was tall, dark skinned with blue eyes. He fought with such ease, he killed every scorpion including their king mercilessly.

After he was done fighting them, as if he knew who she was, he told her to transform into her human form.

I stepped a little bit closer to look at the boy because his voice was familiar. When I got closer I noticed that it was my husband, my love my Hermon. I missed him so much that I nearly commited the mistake of running to him. I yearned to hug him and tell him how much I love him.

"Hey how did you know that I can shapeshift?" Agaton asked the man next to her.

"I know everything about you Nogapele Agaton." The man answered. Agaton was shocked by this statement.

"Who are you and where do you come from?" Agaton asked a little bit annoyed.

"Do you really want to know who I am?" The man asked crossing the distance between them.

Agaton took a few steps back and she answered "Yes I do."

"Okay then, I am Kisas. This sea you see here belongs to me, I own and rule every living thing that is down there. I am King Kisas the emperor of mermen and mermaids, the supreme protector of the marine creatures." The man explained.

Agaton was left dumbstruck, she didn't understand who the man beside her is, as he had a human body. As if Kisas can sense her confusion, he decided to take his real form. His skin and eyes glowed brightly that no one could look at him. When Agaton looked at him she saw a merman with a blue tail and he was holding a trident helping him to float and he was adorned with golden jewellery like mine.

All this looked familiar , I started remembering that I once saw Hermon's eyes glow and that his body used to glow everytime his body used to touch water. The only thing that surprised me was that he turned out to be a merman and that trident he was hold was the same one that I saw in the sculpture.

"Kisas... I'm sorry, King Kisas why did you help me? I know that you would not help me without expecting a favour from me, so what do you want?" Agaton asked.

"I don't want anything from you Nogapele Agaton." Kisas answered.

"You are lying, you want something, tell me before I run out of patience and leave from here." Agaton threatened.

"Okay I want you to be with me all days everyday for twenty days starting tomorrow." Kisas said.

"Is that all?" Agaton asked surprised.

"Every magical being wants a fight with me and you want to be with me for twenty days? Aren't you scared that I might kill you by mistake?" Agaton threatened changing her eye colour and attracting the strong winds towards them.

"Enough with threatening me, I can take care of myself, worry about yourself Nogapele." Kisas threatened back.
