I went back to my home after receiving call from mom. She wanted me to tag along with her in shopping. I informed Kim that I would keep him posted if I would be staying home in the evening. He just nodded in understanding.
Then I texted Kim and informed that I'll be staying home. He was okay with it and informed that he was walking towards his dad's library.
And after that day we barely met eachother I mean we didn't meet at all during the stay. As I would be out most of the time with mom and would directly go to sleep once I returned home. And we barely texted eachother. To be precise Kim didn't check his mobile at all. I texted him the very next morning asking what he was doing, no response. Then after sometime I sent another message telling him that I was going out with my mom again. No response. Then I randomly texted him every now and then still no response, so I assumed that he would be busy studying and I knew that Kim didn't use his phone much.
Few days passed by and the academic year was about to begin in a week. I went to Kim's home and asked if we can leave tomorrow. He asked his mom, Mrs. Scott gave a thumbs-up that she was OK for us to go.
Then I asked him where his mobile was. He started searching his pocket, around the table in dining room, then went to his study room, I followed him and didn't find the mobile. He was about to leave the room when I grabbed his hand to stop him. But Kim turned towards me and the movement was so abrupt that I ended holding him by his waist to stop him from falling. I guess I didn't just hold his hand but pulled him towards me *chuckles*. I saw his reactions that was something that I didn't understand, he had red tinch on his cheeks, his ears were turning red. He released his hand from my hold. Cleared the tension between us by clearing his throat. And when asked where he was running to Kim told he would check with his mom if she saw it. I took out my phone, told him not to disturb his mom. He nodded. Dialled his number no sound of the phone ringing, then we went to the next room and tired calling then to next one later to next one only to realise that he had left it in the book he was reading that evening when I texted him ie., in his dad's library.
Next day, we went back to our home. And since we returned Kim started acting a bit strange. Not sure how to describe. Kim started avoiding me most of the times. He laughed but it was not the same how he used to before we went to our homes. I ignored it thinking that he was homesick. Time flew without us even realizing and it was the first day of being college students. We both were in same college but our interests in subjects were different not sure how and when it changed. I chose Physical education as my major while Kim chose Medicine as his major. We said goodbye to each other and left to our respective classes.
I made a lot of friends within few hours. We didn't have class and we just had orientation program from the management. An announcement was made when all of us were chatting and getting to know eachother that ''All the freshers are hereby informed to assemble in the auditorium after fifteen minutes''.
Time was almost done when James freaked out that we are running late. We all started running towards the auditorium and thank god we were actually on time because there was a huge crowd still trying to enter the hall. After that like after few more minutes we entered the auditorium and we had no other choice than to sit in the middle row which was straight to anyone standing on the stage.
I glanced around to look how the auditorium was filled and I was dumbfounded. Almost half of the students were into their books like they were sitting in library. And the auditorium was not that noisy like it was supposed to be.
Then I started looking around again until my eyes fixed on a particular person. It was Kim. He was laughing wholeheartedly and talking to a guy sitting next to him. It was after so many days that I saw him smile like that. My heart sank looking at him smiling like that with someone else that wasn't me.
