Chapter 30 - Run

"Another!" A lively power flew through me as I released my energy. My clone materialized before Abigor and smashed her fist into his face. Abigor groaned, and his people stood on guard as they started calculating their moves while I threw my head back. Mizu hissed and loosened his grip on me.

Mira unleashed a demolishing hook at me as I jumped from the bed, and I ducked in time before she fractured the bed column.

I ran towards the exit as the energy returned to me and let me know they had gotten rid of my clone.

"Not so fast," Rema grabbed my waist, and I yelped as the door was only an arm away. Damn it! My feet were lifted from the ground as he turned us around. My body froze as I couldn't even move my finger.

Someone used their wicked magic on me. But who? Who was able to freeze a being's movements?

I couldn't escape, but their heavy breathings and frenzy eyes made me more confident.

"I thought I made it clear," Abigor strolled to me while he wiped the blood from his nose.

"Let me go!" I lashed at Rema as I writhed and thrashed against him.

"Haha, stop it, or I'm doing something you won't like."

"She nullified my magic," Luke murmured as everyone except Abigor looked to him. Abigor was eyeing me.

"You're something else, aren't you?" He grasped my chin and made me stare at his crazed blue orbs.

Was it Luke's doing? How did I block it? Remember, Rebel! Please!

"Fuck you!" I spat out, and Rema tossed me to the side in time before Abigor's hand could come down on my cheek.

"Hey, Abigor! We want her intact, remember?" The pink-haired reminded his boss whose nostrils were flaring and his eyes- I gasped as I took in his golden stones glowing and warning me. Of course! He was a dragon, too.

"Don't cause too much trouble, hm?" Rema whispered to me before he let me go.

"What do you want this time?" I snapped at Abigor.

He shut his eyes, and as I blinked, we appeared in another room. Damn it; he possessed strong magic.

This one was a meeting room with the usual wooden rectangle-shaped long table and the same fashioned chairs.

"Sit." He gave an order, and everyone took their places.

Only I remained standing and heavily breathing.

"Rebel," Mizu warned me with his magnificent multicolored eyes boring into mine. His voice was soft and pleading? A faint sense told me Mizu's intentions were in my favor.

"Go on," Luke joined him.

With a grumble, I sat across Abigor at the head of the table.

"What did you and Penum agreed on?"

Abigor's patience was controlled but still rattling as I could almost taste blood in my mouth.

"I would threaten Axel to win the trial if he didn't let me in with the secret information regarding the beast that interests you so much."

"What if he refused?"

"Then his authority would be stained in his people's eyes. And I plan to lose against Lee. As him being by my side and Penum in a higher position will extend my power in this kingdom."

"Hm, interesting," Abigor looked to his side at a crackling fire. We discussed, and a fireplace kept with its music.

"That's a shitty plan there," Luke snickered as the piercing on his nose illuminated the light coming from the fire. "But still…do as you please, Rebel."

"Your mother is captured," Rema started and conquered my whole attention. At the mention of my mother, my blood went cold. "We can help you. Silverborn returned safely due to Axel's interjection."

"Who?" Who was Silverborn?

"Grey," Helio smiled at me, "Grey Silverborn, second in command, Axel's right hand. That beast attacked his village, and he fleed to defend it."

"Did he see that beast?" My curiosity piqued as the animosity towards that deadly creature ignited inside me.

Abigor sighed before answering, "No. A young girl started blowing people, and then it turned into a dragon. Axel appeared on time before it cooked everyone. Yes, he defeated it, but the corpse vanished. It looks like a girl was only a toy."

"If what we all heard is true," Luke leaned in with his hands draped on his legs, "that thing possesses incredible talent. It can move anyone like puppets and simultaneously generate its powres in them."

"Hey, we know it's from the Dragon clan!" I sprang up as I couldn't contain my excitement. At least we knew its origins!

"Girl!" Mira groaned and rolled her eyes. What?

Mizu glared at her before facing me, "Under Axel Kek's reign, many dragons fled to save themselves from the king's strict regulations. So knowing that doesn't do us much since their personal information was deleted from the database."

"Axel will know it!" I retorted.

"That's why we need you," Abigor drew my eyes to him. "Only he knows all of the traitors. I bet he's already on it."

"Then why don't you let him do his job, or are you working with that thing?"

Rema chuckled as Luke fell in his seat leisurely with a smile plastered on his face.

"Our business shouldn't concern you," Abigor stated. His face was flat. "But no. We work alone. Axel is… he doesn't have the right connections with the right people suited for this job."

"Meaning?"

"Meaning he can't find criminals without criminals," Rema clarified as he rested his head on his fist. A smile crawled to his lips. Rema had his nails colored in black as rings graced his fingers.

"Now," Mira interjected after being useless the whole meeting. Her grin didn't portend a good thing. "It's time for Luke and Rema, isn't it?"

I snapped my head to Abigor. What was he planning? Why couldn't he stay satisfied with a peaceful time?

Suddenly, Rema and Luke rose from their seats, making me shiver. What?

I didn't know who to study and who to shun. The two walked to me while my legs staggered backward. Helio threw his head back, laughing as Mizu placed his arms on the back of his neck. Mira leaned in and smiled, enjoying the scene.

"We are done here, sweetheart," Abigor announced with a smile as he exited the room.

"Wait!" I called out to him in desperation but in vain. Abigor waved his hand at me without facing me and then disappeared.

"Baby, you better run," Mizu advised as my eyes scanned the starved looks of the males that seductively approached me.

Rema licked his lips as Luke undressed me with his lustful gaze. And I had patience. I didn't fully acknowledge my abilities, but I would do anything to protect myself. I had a goal.

"We are werewolves," Luke's voice ripped my eyes from Rema. "And we would like to play a game with ya."

My hands shook as my back was this close to making contact with a wall. Fuck, fuck, fuck! How was I supposed to escape an unfamiliar place, especially if one of them acquired the power of suspending one's movements?

"Don't worry. I won't use my magic. Only my wolf form to chase you down," Luke's lips tugged into an evil smirk as his words did nothing to calm my nerves. As if a werewolf wasn't deadly enough.

"By the way," Mira stated nonchalantly, "Rema hadn't fucked anyone yet."

My breath hitched in my throat. I glanced at the pink-haired as he returned his fervent gaze to me. I remembered his gift. If even a day went without him having sex, he died. That's how he refilled his energy. That meant- I gulped audibly and trailed my gaze between them.

I looked at the further corner, where Helio was sprawled in the chair. He smiled before leaning in and muttering a word that stopped my heartbeat, "Run."
