As I opened the door, a ball flew to my direction which I caught easily before it reached my face
Min made a sound of approval. "That was smooth" he said
I threw the ball back to him
"You're back early" In-beom said, not taking his attention off the book, he was in
"Someone else was there" I told him
He nodded
"What should we do this year? Learn separately, or together?" Min asked
I thought about it for a while. The three of us learn together apart from the rest of the other students, but I think its high time we stop that
"Together. We're all students, after all" I said
He grunted in agreement
ααααααααα
I woke up to someone tapping on my desk. I looked up to Ji Sung looking at me from his seat
"Didn't get enough sleep?" he asked
"Just wanted some shut eye before class starts" I told him
He opened his mouth but had to close them back before words came out. The bell rang, and our teacher entered
^^^^^
If not for Ji Sung, I would have been ambushed yet again by screaming girls
"When will this stop?" I asked him
"Well, it hasn't since all my years of being here" he said
"Are you serious?" I asked
He nodded. "You'll get used to it after a while" he said
"Michin geot get-da, jeongmal" This's driving me crazy, really, I complained
"I guess the basic things weren't the only things you learnt" he said
I looked up to see him wearing a smile
"That's be too boring" I told him
He chuckled this time
"Let's go" he said
He suddenly stopped in front of the cafeteria; pain etched on his face
"Are you okay?" he asked
"Yeah, why don't you go ahead?" he asked
"I forgot I had a previous engagement" he added when he saw the skeptical look on my face
I didn't want to leave, but I did nevertheless
"Okay then, see you later" I said reluctantly
He smiled then left, stylishly leaning on the wall to support himself
I watched him until he disappeared before I went inside and ate, not registering what I was eating or even the loud noise on the background
^^^^^
"We meet again" a voice said from behind
I turned around to see the handsome boy of this morning
"Hi"
He waved in response
"Do you usually stay behind after school?"
School had ended, but I stayed behind, mostly because I didn't want to meet my mom
"Ani" no, I said
He smiled
"You speak Korean?" he asked
"Well, I'm Korean after all" I told him
"That's correct" he said
"Are you going home now?" he asked after a while
"Yes, I'm done with school for the day" I replied
"Let's go" he said
With a smile, I nodded, took my bag and walked with him. I stopped at the notice board when something caught my attention
"Igeo Mwoyeyo?" what is this? he asked leaning down to see what I was reading
"Do you guys have a music department in this school?" I asked him
"Yes, why? Are you interested?" he asked
I nodded
"Do you play?"
"Violin"
He nodded his head. "I see"
"Do you know how I can get into the department?" I asked him
"It's easy, but you'll have to do it tomorrow" he said
"Dangyeonhaji" of course
After telling me what to do, we walked out of the school
"See you" he said, and we parted
^^^^^
"Welcome"my mom greeted as I walked through the door
I didn't reply
"I've decided on what to do" she said, and that stopped me
I turned to look at her
"I'm opening a veterinary hospital after I get my license" she said
"That's good. It suits you" I told her
"I'm sorry" she said, stopping me again. "I never should have yelled at you"
I contemplated ignoring her, but she was my mom. I signed before I turned to her
"Did you make lunch? I'm starving"
The nervous look she had on her face turned into a smile
"Just give me a minute; I'll make something you'll love. Come sit" she said, quickly going into the kitchen
I smiled as I followed her and sat on the counter watching and waiting for her
^^^^^
After series of thinking, typing and deleting, I finally settled for one
"Gwaenchanh-a?" are you okay? I texted Ji Sung
I can think of things to say if he asked what I meant by the text, but I didn't need to
I got no reply; he didn't even read it
Even if I wanted to, I couldn't stop the feeling that was bugging me
"Aish!" I groaned
This is so frustrating, I complained
ααααααααα
"I'm home"
"Nae adeul!" my son! my mom said as she came from the living room
She gave me a hug which I returned wholeheartedly
"How was school?" she asked after we pulled apart
"Okay"
She gave me a 'is that all my answer?" look, which I responded to with a smile
"I'm going up" I told her
"Okay, sure. I'll call you after making dinner"
I nodded and went to my room
^^^^^
"Dad's not home, yet?" I asked my mom as I sat on the dining table
"Still had operations to perform" she said
I nodded
"I really don't understand why he does that, he's the chairman"
"He's also a doctor, mom. He's meant to"
She scoffed like a child
My dad is the chairman of Doldam Hospital; the best and well known hospital in Korea. It's even one of the best internationally, people come from all over the world to be treated there. Unlike most people often do, my dad still operates. He refused to just be a chairman even when my mom told him to, with the explanantion that being a doctor is in his blood and he couldn't just give it up because of a position he took over from his father. And I'm glad he didn't, he's a great GS (General Surgeon)
My dad is a doctor and chairman of a hospital, while my mom is the CEO of a corporation called HR Group. She's the CEO, while her uncle, who looks like her older brother instead, is the Chairman. She refused the position saying it was too much work; my mom isn't the all work type. She prefers fun and adventure, but she has her moment when she gets really serious, and most of those times, it involves the company
I'm the only child. According to a brief explanation, my mom went through troubles, for some reason, at the last stage of her pregnancy and her delivery. She was advised not to plan having another one; the doctor said it could cost her life, and she loves her life very much. Being an only child isn't bad, except from when I'm lonely, At those times I have my guys; Kwon Min, and Do In-beom. Our friendship started even before we were born; our parents have always been friends since there's high school days, so I guess, this is a generational friendship. Min's parents own an international food company, while In-beom's parents own a bank
We're all quite well off which is why people usually think in the negative direction about us, or say we're faking affection in the public. We don't care though, we know we love each other
