The Downfall, the day a group of people called " The Origins" attacked the settlement that I lived in. This group of people were carriers of the mutation that appeared when the so-called "apocalypse" started. The settlement they attacked was a community of peaceful people trying to live out their lives as normal as possible. When The Origins raided us there was one question everyone had on their mind. "Why were The Origins attacking our peaceful settlement?. Maybe they were seeking more strength or just wanted to hear the pitiful screams of others. I awoke to the noise of screaming and shouting. I hardly had time to process what was going on before there was something heavy thrown against my door. I quickly got dressed and grabbed a small bag of food and water. Just as I was escaping through the window in the back of my room my door was smashed to pieces and four people rushed into my room destroying everything in sight. As I turned around I froze as I watched the settlement that had saved me from death burn to the ground. I got pulled back into reality when a ball of fire almost took one of my ears. I started running in the opposite direction towards the back of the camp. I ran towards a small slit in the fence and squeezed through it. I blindly sprinted away from the camp. I ran for hours on end stopping only when my legs wouldn't allow me to continue. I stopped in the middle of nowhere surrounded by large buildings. I decided to rest in one of the surrounding buildings. The building I stayed in seemed to be an old cafe, around twenty feet wide on each side with two stories. I began to grab chair cushions to make a makeshift bed. As I laid down, I stared at the ceiling. I thought about if i'll ever get abilities like everyone else in my settlement had. Whilst thinking about what could be I fell asleep.
