I woke up looking around, Everything in the cafe was rotten. I decided I should go scavenging for food. I pulled myself up using a nearby table, I walked out the shop entrance. I looked around my surroundings, I couldn't get a good look last night when I first arrived because of how dark it was. There were a couple apartment buildings and a half destroyed smoothie place. I decided to search the smoothie place first since it would be quick but all I found was a pack of gum. Next was the apartment closest to its right with about a six foot distance between them. I searched through the first floor not finding anything of use, next I searched the second. it had sharp kitchen knives and some metal pans, I plan to melt them and forge it into a sword. In my old settlement they would teach most males how to forge weapons. I put them in the bag I took with me while running from the settlement. I was searching the last bits of the second floor then I suddenly heard a loud crash above me. I ran out the building, almost tripping down the stairs. I looked up into one of the windows, two glowing white eyes stared back at me. I ran towards the cafe knowing it wouldn't do me any good. He saw where I went so I couldn't just brush it off. I kept worrying if he was going to come down and attack me but as I said that three dark figures stood in front of me. Noticing it was all the same guy I realized that it was his mutation ability. Cloning, the clones started punching me. not wasting any time, I pulled a knife and stabbed one of them directly in the center of it's throat. the other clones dropped dead, I killed the original. he looked about twelve. the same age as me. I felt bad but I didn't know if he had any companions. I started for the back exit just then a force blocked the door. I looked back, it was a surviving member from my settlement. I took a closer look at her, she was the boy's mother. They had the same unnaturally bright red hair and glowing white eyes. I felt a force start to lift me as the woman started crying. she lost concentration and I fell to the ground. I took my chance and ran, by the time I finished running it had become night time. It was roughly 9:00 or 10:00pm. I laid down on the bare dirt ground too tired to move. I began to doze off when a force wrapped me around the neck. It was the kid's mother. I was starting to lose consciousness as I fell to the ground. confused I looked around and realized I was sinking into the ground. I was and kept panicking but slowly realized, this is my mutation.
