Ever had a moment when your heart was just pumping so hard, that you knew that you were heading towards the final battle...the final countdown...the final fight becfore the end of the storm. Well Mikoto's heartbeat was on overdrive.
Fairy Tail assaulted both Diablo and Dark Matter with full force. It was chaos, Dark Matter raised his hands, his eyes still blank and staring. Massive clawed white hands exploded out of the ground. Hundreds upon undreds of the hands groped out of the ground, smashing aside Fairy Tail members. knocking them aside....but it wasn't enough to deter them completely...
Erza Scarlet slashed all the arms apart as Mikoto blasted a powerful barrage of lightning at Dark Matter. Dark Matter was blasted in the gut, part of his body tore apart then reformed itself. The blank staring eyes turned towards two of Fairy Tail's strongest females. Six large feathery wings spread from his back and he rose into the air. A powerful light exploded from the wings rippling off the purple light that was coming from Dravis's eyes in the sky.
The entire guild was blasted back from the massive power exploding from the 2nd most powerful esper...all but two...
Accelerator's vector deflection had kicked into effect and deflected the blast as Mikoto who under a lucky circumstance, happened to be standing right behind him, was protected further from the blast by her wings.
There was a dramatic silence..as the members of Fairy Tail surrounded the scene in a wide circle. Accelerator and Mikoto stood before Dark Matter, as Diablo stood a little ways away, his molten eyes seemingly amused, not even bothering to fight those he considered lesser creatures.
"Well well.." spat Accelerator. "It's been a while.."
"Been a while? Since what?" Mikoto asked.
"It's been a while since Academy City's three most powerful espers have gathered in one spot." said Accelerator. "You, me, and Kakine all in one place...hehehehe..."
Mikoto grinned. "Now that you mention it...actually..I don't think us three ever have gathered in one place..so what's the plan?"
"Ya ever watch King Kong?"
"Well...it looked like a gorrila playing a game of 'My Barbie doll!' "
"Ya ever see what happened to the Tyrannosaurus?"
"Let me guess." Mikoto said. "Kakine's the Tyrannosaurus."
Accelerator laughed. "You bet!!"
And so the three strongest of all psychics converged on each other.
Mikoto attacked first, the ground around her shook with the combined electromagnetic force of both Dragon magic and psychic power as she puffed up her cheeks. "ROAR OF THE THUNDER DRAGON!!!"
Dark Matter dashed forward, his eyes still blank, letting another massive blast of light explode from his wings and collide with the blast of lightning. Accelerator used the distraction to summon a massive twister to propel him forward, shooting straight into Kakine's side, and slamming a hand into the Number 2 esper's face.
Teitoku blasted away like a bullet from the force of Accelerator's vectors, colliding with the cobblestone, and throwing up rubble. Dark Matter stood back up, half his head missing. His head then instantly reformed itself and he held up another hand. hundreds of strange black humanoids with white crystal-like faces charged at Accelerator and Mikoto.
"That's all you can come up with!?" Accelerator yelled. "WELL THEN!! HERE'S A LITTLE MORE!!!"
Large black raven-like wings that swirled and twisted int the wind exploded outwards from Accelerator and ripped the drones apart as the surrounding members of Fairy Tail regained their composure and charged inwards.
It was mass mayhem all over again. Dark Matter rose into the sky, gliding on his ginormous white wings like an angel as more and more minions began to form out of his own special matter below him, attacking Fairy Tail and the other magicians as Diablo stood by casually smacking aside any who attacked him, not even exterting much effort to fight.
Mikoto's eyes then locked onto the molten eyes of Diablo through the crowd. "Accelerator..you can take care of Kakine just fine right?"
"Yeah." said Accelerator. "I have before. What are you going to do?"
"It's time this world had at least one less mega demon in it." said Mikoto.
"Are you crazy?!" Accelerator said with wide eyes. "Attacking that guy alone is like trying to kill an elephant with a sewing needle!"1
"I've seen worse odds." said Mikoto right before she pushed off the ground and jumped over the fighting mages and drones.
She landed in front of Diablo whose arms were now uncrossed and his gauntlets were clenched, a slow and steadily rising power could be felt coming from withing the alien demon.
"Mikoto Misaka.." said Diablo. "Twice we have fought..and twice you have defeated me. My honor dictates that I defeat you at least once."
"Honor?" Mikoto growled. "Like you'd know anything about honor. You hurt my friends, killed your own brother, destroyed your homeworld..there is nothing honorable about you."2
Diablo's eyes flashed. In a burst of speed and a crashing sonic boom, Diablo's hand was pressing Mikoto's throat against the cracked ground, molten heat exploding off his body with power.
"You know nothing girl." Diablo snarled.
Mikoto couldn't say anything. The pressure of Diablo's armored hand was too great. She could feel her massive powers being absolutely useless against the monster before her...the god...but no..no way would she let this creature defeat her...not before the final deed was done..
Mikoto screamed as she sought within herself towards the inner darkness she had learned to control, the only hope left in defeating the enemy before her. Mikoto's right eye turned black with an iris as white and round as the moon as her wings turned black and black plasma talons and horns formed on her. A massive black black plasma tail slammed Diablo off as Mikoto rose into the air several feet, black lightning rippling out of her body.
"Complete control.." Diablo said, his voice displaying surprise. "IMPOSSIBLE!!"
"Yeah.." said Mikoto as she created a sphere of black lightning in one of her claws. "You just keep saying that.."
There was an explosion of black lightning and Diablo was thrown back till he exploded against a building in a blast of power so great that aura from it could have suffocated a normal person standing within 50 meters.
There was an explosive roar of anger, the entire Earth seemed to shake with malice as Diablo rose from the wreckage, the magic power within him rising to levels even more powerful then any mage on Earth.
"You may have control over some of your Level 6 shift.." said Diablo. "BUT AGAINST ME!! YOU FACE A GOD!!!"
Diablo raised his fists to the air. "Devil's Art: GENERAL OF THE DAMNED!!!" Diablo's body was engulfed in a poweful blast of energy. When the energy cleared, a powerful massive creature with skin made out of pure black spikes with poisonous green points stood. A large green skull was imbedded in it's chest as the monster lumbered forward, lava erupting with it's every step.
"And now..I will truly crush you!!" Diablo roared as he stomped forward, his body moving at frightening speed for his size.
Mikoto's plasma fist and Diablo's massive spiked fist collided with each other in a massive power spike so large, that the shockwave actually caught the attention of Dravis.
The ancient diety of devestation eyed the two tremendous fighters. At first he felt curiosity..then he felt reccognition. The girl...it was Mikoto Misaka..she had grown powerful....very powerful.
It was then Dravis began to feel amused. Despite all her power, she was still not even an ounce as powerful as himself. She had come far...but not far enough. He would watch for now before attacking. Then if she managed to defeat Diablo...which was unlikely, he would destroy her with one swipe of his world crushing claws...
"Go on Railgun.." Dravis said softly. "Amuse me..."
Mikoto screamed with massive power as she sent an explosion of black lightning into Diablo's body. Diablo swiped his spiked monstrous arm at the lightning and tore it aside with ease.
"Heheheh.." Diablo chuckled. "Look...despite all your strength...all your effort..you still are no match for a god. For me.."
"I'm not here to beat a god.." Mikoto growled. "I'm here to save the multiverse!!"
Mikoto shot at Diablo like a black lightning meteor. "SWORD HORN OF THE ESPER DRAGON!!!"
Mikoto rammed against Diablo in a shockwave of god-like power. The sky would have turned dark and trembled with light had it not been completely obscured by the appocalyptic dragon.
Diablo held strong against Mikoto's blow and smashed his fists into her back. An explosive blast of magma roared out from the area surrounding the two combatants from the force of Diablo's attack.
Diablo picked Mikoto up by the back of her neck and raised his fist, prepared to punch her in the face.
"How pathetic." Diablo said. "Before, you had your friends and Elanis to help you in your battles against me..but now you are alone..and you are absolutely no match. And soon your Fairy Tail friends will fall before Dark Matter.."
Mikoto grinned at Diablo despite the pain of her level 6 shift and injuries. "Oh..they're all gonna fall to Dark Matter? Do you know how Natsu was able to beat him in the first place? He used Fire Thunder Dragon mode to alter the magnetism in the air...limit Kakine's connection to his entire network...while I helped a bit."
"What?!" Diablo's moltened eyes widened.
"Oh...you should see how much more electromagnetism I can summon in this form.." Mikoto said. "Look around you Diablo..is Fairy Tail looking beat?"
Diablo turned his attention away from the esper Dragon Slayer in his claws and saw multiple drones disintegrating into nothingness as they were torn apart by the relentless mages. And to top it off..no more drones were forming....there was an explosion of rubble and Teitoku Kakine's unconscious form was observed within the crater with Accelerator standing over him.
"One problem with concentrating Kakine's consciousness in one place." spat Accelerator. "I only have to beat him once."
Diablo looked shocked. Then his eyes contorted in fury. He threw Mikoto aside who cried out in pain as she hit the street, her wings, talons and level 6 power dissapating. "NO MORE GAMES!! NO MORE ALLOWANCES!!! OPULENTUS!!! DESTROY THEM!!!"
Diablo wrenched the green skull out of his chest and threw it into the air. the skull grew bones muscles and skin, it also grew multple other skulls on top of it's muscular neck, and the skulls remained as skulls without in muscle or skin and became wreathed in blue flames. The same blue flames filled the eyesockets of the muscular multiheaded 120 meter skull creature.
Opulentus, one of Diablo's three demon gods roared with incredible fury and power. The flames around it's multiple skulls seemed tor represent pure power itself.
Opulentus lumbered forward, with each step, the sky darkened further. Opulentus opened his multiple jaws and let out a blast of of blue flames at the guild. As the flames closed in Mikoto knew, There was no magic any of them possessed that could block this attack...if those flames reached them, it was over.
That was when Mikoto felt a feirce fire in her heart. As the flames razed forward, she seemed to walk over in slow motion....and then she felt a hand grab her own hand...it was Touma..walking with her..then Natsu grabbed hold of her other hand...and Lucy grabbed hold of his hand..and soon every member of Fairy Tail were holding hands, even the Exceeds had their paws in the hands of their fellow guild mates as Elli sat atop Mikoto's head.
If this was the end...they were facing it together. That was when the Dragon within Mikoto's heart..the enemy of Dravis..the Lord of Creation herself spoke.
"You have come far....I am proud of you my descendent. I will give you my final gifts...a way out of the darkness..."
A powerful light exploded from Mikoto's body and formed itself into a magnificent dragon shaped white aura with glowing golden eyes. The dragon let out a fanatastic roar, and the flames were wiped back. Opulentus let out a growl as the explosive roar blew away his body until he had dissintegrated into the air, leaving nothing behind.
Diablo looked like he had just been told that the universe was made of orange juice. "I-impossible!!"2
The aura rippled and then merged with Mikoto. Together, Natsu and Touma threw Mikoto forward as her wings burst back to life, this time her lightning wings were pure white, here body was exploding with more sacred power then every Saint that ever existed combined. She took a coin from her pocket and aimed it at Diablo Etwatia.
"FINAL RAILGUN OF THE NOVA DRAGON!!!"2
The coin flew forward....covered in radiant light...an ever so beautiful raidant light that was so precious, it was as if angels had come down from the stars and carressed the coin before it had been fired. There was a bursting streak, a bright white out...and Diablo stood before Mikoto, back in his normal form...his entire arm and half his shoulder gone.
Diablo fell to his knees. "E-Elanis...How?"
Elanis's aura disconnected from Mikoto as she fell to her knees as well, her wings dissapearing. The aura shot high into the sky then landed a few meters away and morphed into a bright doorway of light.
Looking at it Mikoto knew...that was the last doorway...the final doorway...the last before the end..
Take that door to enter into the heart chamber of Dravis..place the heart peice..and all this shall end...
Mikoto stood up..she stared down at Diablo. Diablo looked up at her..and this time his voice sounded different. All the pride was gone...it didn't sound like a plea..nor did it sound like anything...it just sounded like a painful longing.
"Long has the darkness persisted.." Diablo whispered. "Long has this evil existed within me...long has Dravis lived...I thought..if I could fight darkness with an even greater darkness..then finally the wars would stop..finally the pain would end. I even killed my own brother for that cause. Girl, you don't know what you have started."
"I'd like to think I'm ending it, not starting it." Mikoto said.
"Dravis is not the absolute darkness I've been trying to hold back.." Diablo continued. "When I was a youth..when my planet was still alive and full of wonder...I was gifted with foresight..and I saw a vision. The dark god Asgawrath...creator of Dravis...a darkness colder and darker even then he...awakening....if Dravis goes...he might..just open his dark heartless eyes upon the multiverse..."
Mikoto suddenly felt a chill go up her spine as she remembered the words Dravis had spoken long ago back within the Palace of Dragons.
"A darkness is coming...I can smell it in the very air.....feel it in the very heartbeat of the Earth....the darkness is closing in........a darkness even colder then I or that strange man Zeref."
Mikoto stared at Diablo, realizing that despite all the things this strange creature had done...she had never really known him. She had always just assumed that Diablo had done what he did merely out of a thirst for power...but really, what more power did Diablo need? He was the most powerful mage on the planet in both dimensions..
"I won't kill you." Mikoto said. "But, I want you out of here..out of both dimensions...leave, and never come back."
Mikoto expected Diablo to burst into rage. To stand up, shout "King of The Damned!" and start fighting in prideful fury.
But instead Diablo shimmered. He gave Mikoto one last look. "Beware Asgawrath Railgun...and do not trust the Soul Reapers..."
With this final cryptic message...Diablo dissapeared as if blown away by the wind.
Erza walked up to stand next to Mikoto. "Despite his evil...in the end he was just as lost and helpless as any human."
Mikoto looked at Erza and the rest of Fairy Tail, then she looked at the gate. She smiled sadly. "This is it..once I walk through that gate...that's it..."
Erza nodded, a tear was trickling down Titania's face..."You have been so brave..."
Everyone in Fairy Tail then put their hands up to the sky, their hands formed an L shape...Mikoto knew what it meant...it meant wherever she may be..they would always be watching...
Mikoto took a deep breath and walked towards the white door..knowing that the moment she walked through..there would be no turning back.
"At least nobody else will have to die.." Mikoto murmured.
That's when something more miraculous then anything Mikoto had ever experienced in her life happened. Natsu Dragneel, Lucy Heartfilia, Happy, and Elli all moved in at once and grabbed Mikoto's arms. Together, they ran with the surprised and shocked Mikoto through the white door, and as they went through the bursting light...Natsu Dragneel said one word...
"Together.."
