"CRASH!!" A massive smashing sound was heard as buildings all around began collapsing from the force of the assault by the dragons. People everywhere were running and screaming as the massive beasts ran amok, tearing everything they saw to shreds, roaring their displeasure.
"This is really starting to look like a Godzilla movie!" said Mikoto as she and the rest of the group ran through the city, Kanzaki was leading them.
"This is shaping up to be a real mess alright." said Kanzaki. "I've never seen so many dragons in person except for the undead ones Diablo summoned during the Grand Magic Games. I've never seen such powerful creatures.."
"We need to find the Gate of Thundaarix quickly.." said Nicole. "How many points have we not checked?"
"Seven." said Kanzaki. "But there's one point in the entire city that's the most likely. It was a shrine that was said to be an old gateway in between our worlds. It's a secret area..Only a select few know about it."
"Where is it?" Asked Natsu.
"In the direction we're heading." said Kanzaki. "It's close, but we need to hurry..it only opens during the day..and considering this darkness.."
Over the time the group had been running, the entire sky had become obscured by a dark cloud. Mikoto was sure that the cloud was not normal..she could practically feel Dravis's aura all over it. Now it was impossible to tell if it was day or night without a watch, something which neither of them had.
"Dravis is coming" said Mikoto as she felt her heart beat wildly from instinctual fear. "Natsu, Nicole..you two can feel it also..right?"
Dragons and Dragon Borns had an instinctual fear that always struck them when Dravis was near. Both Natsu and Nicole nodded, however, like Mikoto they kept determined looks on their faces..intent on not allowing the fear take over.
"We'll get that piece of Dravis's heart and kill that bastard.." Natsu growled. "There's nothing else to it.."
Except there was. Mikoto knew it..in the end...they were all going to die....Mikoto's final legacy to the world would be her little sister, and those who survived the war...would they make a memorial to her? She doubted it, barely anyone knew about the prophecy...they'd probably assume it was some freak accident Dravis was involved in.
Fairy Tail would know though. They would tell as many people as they could, spread the story far and wide.
"Guys.." said Mikoto. "I know this sounds like a broken record..but once I have Dravis's heart and I go...it's over..for me and anyone near me...if you want to quit.."
"Don't even say it!" said Elli.
"That's right!" said Natsu. "We're with you all the way through!"
"Indeed." said Nicole. "Speaking of which...Kanzaki.."
"Yeah? What's up?" Kanzaki asked.1
Nicole ran a little quicker till she was running right next to Kanzaki and handed her a letter. "Give this to Accelerator if I don't make it.."
"Accelerator?" said Mikoto.
"It's a private matter." said Nicole as her cheeks reddened and she looked away slightly.4
"You li~ke him." said Happy.1
"It's been a long time since I heard you say that." said Lucy with a small smile.
"Meh..." Nicole just went redder.
"Wait.." Mikoto said. "Do you smell that?"
"Dragons." said Natsu.
"Well of course there would be dragons!" said Lucy. "We just saw them right?"
"No.." said Mikoto.."These dragons are getting closer! Four of them!! But I can't see them!"
"They can't be coming for us all at once!" said Kanzaki. "One dragon can take on an entire army!"
"That is unless they know they're dealing with three mega overpowered Dragon Slayers." said Natsu. "Brace yourselves!!"
In that instant there was an explosive beam of bright power that shot out of the sky, carving a massive exploding gash into the ground. The world spun as the mages fell against the roar attack.
Natsu's eyes opened as he got up staggering, there was a bloody gash on his arm and all around him, Mikoto, Nicole, Happy, Elli, and Kanzaki were unconscious...but...where was Lucy?
Natsu's eyes widened as the dust cleared in a massive burst of wind to reveal 4 dragons standing around him. Zirconis was standing in front of him, and in one of his massive foretalons he held none other then..2
"LUCY!!" Natsu yelled.1
Lucy didn't respond, having been knocked out like the others.
"HAHAHAHA!!" Zirconis laughed. "Hello little Dragon Slayer..looks like just one of you is awake..that makes everything much easier."
"You let go of Lucy right now.." Natsu growled.
"Or what?" said another dragon with a large fin running down it's back named Levia. "Think carefully before you act human, do what we say and it might not have to come to bloodshed."
"You idiot!" said Zirconis. "I'll kill all these pathetic humans regardless of what they do. They're nothing appetizers, mere morsels! Why I'm even bothering to say anything to them is beyond me!"
"Enough.." said a dark skinned dragon. "We are here to destroy, not to reason.."
"Did you hear what I said?" growled Natsu. "You let go of Lucy..or ELSE!!"
"Or else what?" said Zirconis. "What are you going to do about it human?"
Natsu raised his fist to the heavens and the massive Fire Gauntlett Sword formed in a blast of swirling flames.
Natsu leapt into the air and slashed the flame sword downwards at Zirconis, blasting a tremendous fire at him which exploded against his chest, causing him to fly back while dropping Lucy at the same.
The other dragons watched in shock as Natsu caught Lucy in one arm and lashed out another explosive tongue of flame at Motherglare who roared out in pain and tumbled along the ground flattening several more houses.
"So.." growled Natsu as he set Lucy down gently next to Mikoto. "Whose next!?"
"Tear him apart!" roared the dark dragon who attacked simultaneously with Levia.
Natsu jumped into the air and twirled around, letting a massive exploding flame tornado blast out from his entire body. "EXPLODING FLAME WING OF THE DRAGON BORN!!!"
The massive tornado blasted the two dragons back. Natsu landed on the ground and dashed at the dark dragon and engulfed his entire body in fire, then shot up like a rocket. "Sword Horn of the Fire Dragon!!"1
Natsu collided in a huge flaming headbutt with the dark dragon's gut. The dark dragon gave a pained hacking growl as he spat out blood and fell unconscious.
Suddenly there was an explosion nearby and Zirconis rose from the ashes, roaring with rage. "PATHETIC HUMAN!! THE RACE OF DRAGONS ARE NOT SO EASILY CRUSHED!!"
"Yeah.." said Natsu with terrifying look in his eyes. "But you forget...I'm a Dragon Slayer...to me..you're mince meat!!!"
Natsu dashed out of the way as Zirconis let out an explosive beam from his mouth and Levia and Motherglare followed up with roar attacks of their very own.
Natsu slid right under Zirconis's belly and kicked off from the ground stabbing the flaming blade straight into the stomach area. "EXPLODING BLADE OF THE DRAGON BORN!!"
The firey blade gave a tremendous flaming blast. Zirconis reared up as Natsu dashed up along his back using flaming feet. There was a blast of fire from Natsu's feet and he shot up like a booster rocket.
"ROAR OF THE FIRE DRAGON!!!" Natsu let an massive fire geyser shoot from his mouth and straight into Zirconis's face as he flipped in between the slashing claws of Motherglare and Levia.
Natsu then dashed out of the way as Zirconis pounded his claw at him in rage. "YOU BASTARD HUMAN!!"
Natsu grinned and then jumped onto the confused Motherglare's tail, running up of it without a second thought. He then jumped onto Motherglare's head and kicked off of it as he ignited a firey flame in his left hand.
"Flames in my left hand.." Natsu growled. "And a flaming bright blade on my right...put them both together and this is what you get.."
Natsu slapped his flame gauntlett and his fist together and a massive fire ball was thrown down at the three dragons even larger then any of them. "BRILLIANT FLAME OF THE DRAGON BORN!!!"2
The fire ball mashed down on top of the three dragons with an explosive light as Natsu landed on top of a building and stared down at the dust cloud.
Suddenly a massive dragon's talon burst out of the dust and back handed Natsu with tremendous force, causing him to smash into the cobblestone road below.
Natsu rose from the rubble to face the three dragons that were still standing. This time, Zirconis had Mikoto in his talon. "Come any closer human!! And I'll crush the so called Railgun like a grape!!"
Suddenly there was the sound of a whip crackling and a bright whip made of a shining river of water wrapped around Mikoto's waist and pulled her out of Zirconis's grasp and into the arms of Lucy who had regained consciousness.
"Little whelp.." growled Zirconis who raised his claw and swiped it at Lucy.
Noticing Zirconis's attack, Mikoto threw Mikoto aside desperately as the claw smacked into her body and she smashed into a building and fell limp.1
"NNNOOOOOOO!!!!!" Natsu screamed. At that moment a massive geyser of the most powerful fire exploded from Natsu's body and bled into the clouds above with a red glow. The flames swirled around Natsu like a skin until he was completely obscured in fire.
The fire grew massive and began to grow talons and wings...when the fire had finished shaping itself, it peeled back like a second skin to reveal a massive red dragon with fin-like ears and scales that shone like rubies, the dragon's eyes glowed red with rage.1
"Igneel!?" said Zirconis stepping back in fear.
"No.." said Levia. "That boy is a Dragon Born...this is Dragon Skin!"
Natsu opened his massive jaws to reveal the rows of sharp teeth and roared. A sonic boom infused fire exploded out of his mouth from the force of the roar and the ground shook with power.
Natsu spread then spread his wings wide, and attacked, he dove into the dragons, lashing his claws at them ferociously, grabbing Zirconis's neck with one talon and biting into Levia's back with his powerful jaws.
His wings gave a massive flap, creating a hurricane of wind that knocked Motherglare off her feet as Natsu shot into the sky, carrying both Levia and Zirconis with him.
Natsu flew higher and higher into the sky until the city of London was just a bunch of lights beneath the three dragons.
Natsu threw Zirconis and Levia into the air and blasted out a massive beam of fire from his mouth at the two dragons. There was an explosion like a miniature nuclear bomb and the two dragons fell away from the explosion only opening their wings just in time.
Zirconis and Levia both roared ferociously and let out their own roar attacks both of which Natsu dodged in mid air like a pro flier. Natsu opened his flaming jaws again and let out another exploding blast of fire. This time the fire blasted Levia head on, and Levia fell down to the earth below like a smoking rock of lifeless scales.
"I-impossible.." said Zirconis as the Jade Dragon stared at the Fire Dragon before him. "This strength and power..it's just like Igneel.."
Suddenly Motherglare flew up at Natsu from behind, but before the dragon could sink her teeth into Natsu's scaly hide, Natsu lashed his tail out and Motherglare was knocked out of the air with a blow that left a resounding shockwave.
Motherglare fell down to the earth to join Levia and the dark dragon in their defeat.
"No.." Zirconis growled. "I WON'T LOSE TO A HUMAN IN A FAKE DRAGON'S GUISE!!"
Zirconis let out his roar attack with a fury unlike any he had ever let out before as Natsu let out his own flaming blast. The two roar attacks collided with tremendous force that lit up the entire sky like a small sun.
The flaming blast powered through Zirconis's own attack and exploded against Zirconis. Zirconis fell out of the sky.
"Defeated by a human..." murmured Zirconis as he fell to the earth below. "I won't forget you...Dragon Born.."
Zirconis closed his eyes as he lost consciousness and collided with the ground in an explosive crash of smoke.
Natsu roared into the sky, the roar that sounded like Igneel could be heard for miles..
Natsu spread his wings wide and soared down to land next to his fallen comrades...he glowed with a flaming aura..and in no time at all, Natsu had returned to his human form.
He ran over to Lucy and grabbed her shoulders. "Lucy! Lucy!"
Lucy opened her eyes slightly. "I-I'm alright...he didn't hit me as hard as it looked..is Mikoto alright?"
Natsu looked at Mikoto lying next to Lucy and felt her hand. "She's fine..but Lucy...I almost thought you were.."
Lucy smiled and a tear travelled down her cheek. "I'm not going to leave this world that easy..I'm worried about you.."
"You should know by now.." said Natsu. "I'm way too much of a hothead to die.."
"But the world is ending..doesn't that mean everyone might die?" Lucy asked.
"That means I might not get another chance to do this." said Natsu. And with that he closed the gap in between him and the Celestial Mage and their lips connected.2
As the two mages kissed the clouds where Natsu's fire had blasted through before finally parted and a thin ray of sunlight travelled down and illuminated the two of them. Their kiss like a ray of hope in the dark desolation of Dravis..
It was then that Mikoto Misaka's eyes opened just enough to see the beautiful scene. She smiled and a sparkling tear dropped down to ground before her.."About time you idiots..."
