The power grid was perhaps one of the greatest prides of Psychic City. It utilized both power from solar panels and electric turbines, pluse it used wind turbines that were highly efficient due to the fact the City was airborne. The power output of the entire power plant in general would have been enough to create 700 continuosly exploding nuclear bombs.
Forseeing this massive power source to be a possible safety hazzard, the designer, a former General known as Dark Matter, designed the grid so that if it were ever to become damaged or destroyed, the power would evaporate away rather come out in a huge explosion...not that he would have needed to worry about that if he could see who was destroying it at the moment....with every transformer and power coupling or other never before seen electrical device Mikoto Misaka destroyed, she would swallow up all the remaining electricty, after all, if your were a Dragon Slayer who hadn't eaten in ages, what else would do?
Mikoto's wings spread out extra wide, letting massive lightning bolts shoot out from it's edges and obliterate much of the surrounding area as she walked through the seemiingly endless maze of large metal towers and wires and rods. Wires that were as thick as sky scrapers wound throughout the area, monstrous spheres, cylinders and boxes made of metal studs and circuit boards seemed to make the place more intimidating even while it was being destroyed.
Already, a massive battalion of soldiers were attempting to take Mikoto down, firing high powered sniper bullets at her from afar.
But every time the bullets got close, they would be repelled by a sudden powerful magnetic force. It was like an electromagnetic version of Accelerator's vector deflection. Though Mikoto had always been able to excercise this power, it had increased dramatically ever since she unlocked her Dragon Slayer powers. Now, whenever she activated it, not even Erza's magic swords could pierce the magnetic field, anything metal was automatically repelled. (Gajeel once tried to see if he could pierce through the field with an Rod of the Iron Dragon....this resulted in him flying over 100 meters in the air and then crashing spectacularly into the woman's hotsprings..)1
"Keep firing!" shouted one of the soldiers as the battalion continuously fired their weapons from the towering structures that were scattered throughout the power plant. "If she reaches the central transformer, all security control will be down!!"
Mikoto grinned at this remark. Central transformer? Bring down all of security? Well thank you big mouthed soldier dude.1
"Alright." said Mikoto. "Change of plans.."
Mikoto turned to looked at the men firing on her and jumped, leaving a dent in the metal floor from where she pushed off. she reached halfway up the massive tower and then used electromagnetism to cling to the side of the tower with the hands and feet.
"Look out boys...Spider-Misaka's coming for you." said Mikoto with a grin. She began agiley climbing up the side of the building with skill that only came with a lot of practice.1
"Keep shooting!!" shouted the soldier sounding rather frantic this time. "Kill her!!!"
However, even as the range grew closer and closer, the high powered bullets only stopped in mid air and fell out of the sky uselessly as they came at Mikoto, Finally Mikoto climbed over the edge of the tower and stretched like she had just come out of bed.. "Alright guys...If I heard correctly, there's supposed to be some sort of central transformer that runs power to all the security around this place, mind telling me where I can find it?"
"H-how did she hear us!?" shouted one of the soldiers. "Not even General Misaka could..."
"Never talk about any super secret stuff when somebody's got dragon hearing." said Mikoto. "Now if you don't mind..."
"N-NOO!!" all of the soldiers took out metalic sphere's from their belts and threw them. Mikoto didn't need to be an expert in Psychic City tech to know what those things probably were.
As the the spheres all exploded one by one near her, she closed her wings over herself like a lightning cocoon and took the powerful explosions with no problem. (She used the same general strategy to fight Jackal once when she had a run in with the newly reformed Skill Out which was now lead by the demon mage. It is said that Mikoto was the only one who ever made Jackal cry.)1
Mikoto opened her wings, clearing the smoke from the area with a large gust of wind. "Oops...was that supposed to kill me?"
The soldiers all began to quake with fear..finally one of the soldiers fell to his knees and screamed. "AAAAHHHH PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!!! JUST WALK 80 METERS EAST OF HERE AND YOU'LL FIND THE CENTRAL TRANSFORMER FOR THE SECURITY GRID!!!! WHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA"
"Eh?" said Mikoto looking a little taken aback as she could smell something salty and familiar coming from under the soldier's helmets. "A-are you all crying?"
"Y-You gave us all the same look that General Misaka gives us when we fail a mission!!" cried one soldier. "I-it's just as scary with both eyes!! WHAAAAAA!!!!"
Mikoto sighed. "Er..right, thanks anyways. "
Mikoto jumped off the tower and spread her wings, letting it spread an electromagnetic current so she began hovering safely towards the ground...however just when she was only halfway towards the ground, a powerful stream of lightning blasted straight into her and sent her smashing through several electric towers in a burst of violent sparks...
Mikoto burst from the wreckage shaking some burnt wires off of her and looked to find Mikaris walking through the dust, a powerful current eminating off her gauntlett. "Found you..."
Mikoto nodded solemnly. "I was wondering when you were going to show up..."
Mikaris's eye widened slightly. "Really?"
"Yep." said Mikoto. "You have the same look in your eye as she did...the same cold sadness.."
"And who might that be?" asked Mikaris with some curiosity in her tone.
"Nicole Mavros..she wanted to kill me.." said Mikoto, then with a wide grin on her face she continued. "But funnily enough, she's now one of my best friends...I even taught her how to swim once...or tried to..she's still not really thrilled with water, she keeps on muttering about how it would make no difference even if she ate something called a 'devil fruit'...whatever that is."2
"How can you smile and talk about like an old friend if you know my intentions..?" said Mikaris. "Why?"
"Because, when I look at you." said Mikoto. "I guess I still see Nicole...and maybe the possibility that you can come out of the darkness too...I don't know...I guess it's just Natsu rubbing off on me. But then again." Mikoto smiled again. "Natsu's usually right about this kind of stuff."
Mikaris gritted her teeth as her eye looked livid with anger. "How dare you....that you would assume me to be so weak to fall for you blabbering...for that bastard Mystogan's blabberings...there is nothing left of me..nothing to save!! WHY CAN"T YOU ALL JUST UNDERSTAND THAT!!!??"
Mikaris screamed as her body became engulfed in tremendous electricity. All around her the power plant began sparking and exploding randomnly in response to Mikaris's power.
"That's right.." said Mikoto. "The A.E.A boosts your powers to the extreme...I almost forgot...well then.."
Mikoto's wings grew massive as her power began to rise exponentially as well. scale patterns formed on her forearms and her pupils became slight slits. her teeth became a little fang like.
"I won't hold back either!!!!"
Mikaris clapped her hands together and a ginourmous beam of lightning blasted it's way towards Mikoto.
In a burst of speed Mikoto jumped into the air, dodging the move. Mikoto took a deep breath. "SECRET ART: GIANT ROAR OF THE THUNDER DRAGON!!!"
A beam of lightning even larger then Mikaris's blasted out of Mikoto's mouth. Mikaris clenched her gauntlett into a fist and punched the electric attack, yelling. There was tremendous explosion of electic power, hundreds of circuit boards seemed to shatter as Mikaris launched herself through the power blast and split the roar attack apart as she came right next to Mikoto in mid air.
Engulfing her gauntlett fist in lightning, Mikaris punched Mikoto in the face, blasting her into the ground. Using electromagnetism to propel herself, Mikaris shot at Mikoto with the intention of piledriving her while she was dazed. But there was a blur of speed and Mikoto suddenly appeared behind Mikaris in mid air.
Mikoto closed her fists together as they were engulfed in lightning. "Jaw of The Thunder Dragon!!" Mikoto struck her fists down in an overhead blow on top of Mikaris, bashing her down into the ground and creating a huge crater of metal and circuit rubble around them. (This move was used against Tempesta by Laxus in the Tartarus arc).
"Had enough!?" shouted Mikoto.
Mikaris suddenly shot her gauntlett out and grabbed Mikoto's face. "Not even close!! This armor increases my durability far beyond puny normal human levels...a tank couldn't even hope to come close to my level!!"
Mikaris suddenly yelled as she let a powerful stream of electricity course through Mikoto's face. "Even us level 5s have a limit to how much electricity we can endure!! I'll fry your brain till your ability can't be used...and with only your Dragon Slayer power, you'll be hopelessy outmatched....what!?"
Mikaris immediately felt the power she was sending at Mikoto being sucked in, as if something was devouring the power,Mikaris pulled her hand away and jumped to her feet as she watched Mikoto swallow the last of the residual electricity..
Mikoto wiped her mouth and sighed with air of somebody having just eaten a satisfying meal. "Hey, that tasted pretty good..like really fancy mochi.."
"Y-you ate it!?" said Mikaris. "You're a monster!"
Mikoto shrugged. "Dragon Slayers...what did you expect? Well now...what would Natsu say in this situation...oh that's right...I'm all fired up!!"
Mikoto reached back and grabbed her wings with her bare hands, and they instantly morphed into two giant lightning swords. "SECRET ART!! GREAT FLASHING LOTUS BLADE!!"
Mikoto launched herself at the surprise Mikaris and began slicing the swords in a flurry of super fast blows, the swords becoming faster and brighter with every hit. Finnaly Mikoto brought both her two swords together into one massive sword which she swung downwards with a collosal accompanying electrical explosion.
Mikoto's eyes suddenly widened however, as she realized that Mikaris had just caught the massive energy blade in both hands.
Mikaris sweated as she pushed back against the powerful move. "DON'T TOY WITH ME!!!"
Mikaris screamed as her body began to shoot out a powerful stream of lightning in all directions. She grabbed the blade more forcefully and threw it into a nearby tower with Mikoto still clinging to the handle, the electromagnetic force causing Mikoto to collide with the tower with explosive power. The tower collapsed as lightning from the demolished tower sparked everywhere.
Mikaris began to hear the staticky voice of Cronus blaring through her earpiece. "Big Sister! Are you crazy!!? Kzzzssshh...you'll...Kzzzssshhh....knock us out of the sky by bringing down the....ksssszzzzh..power..."
Mikaris removed her earpiece and crushed it in her gauntlett, she wasn't interested in any interruptions...she was going to destroy that...inferior copy...that scum who dared to come into this world bearing the face of what she might of looked like if she had been able to remain whole and happy...1
Mikaris pressed a button to her gauntlett. Immediately a computerized female voice spoke. "Warning, boundary inhibitions removed. Armor now at increasing power...120%...200%...500%..."
As Mikoto blasted out of the rubble and landed in front of Mikaris, her eyes widened as she watched the ever increasing electrical aura boost to critical levels.
"This is called Boundary Removal." said Mikaris. "Only the strongest espers are allowed to use it...I and Accelerator are the only ones to ever recieve this power.."
Mikoto gritted her teeth..."So that's how it's going to be...then I have no choice.." Mikoto took out a small vile of what appeared to be golden liquid.
"What is that?" said Mikaris suspiciously as her power continued to burst out from her.
"Nicole and Bickslow both helped me compress an extreme amount of lightning into a liquid gell using their spirits..." said Mikoto. "Then I infused it with magic from Fairy Thunder..as for what it does...I'll show you.."
Mikoto drank the contents of the vile and threw it aside as her power suddenly spiked to amazing levels. Her wings gave a massive burst as they morphed into six ginormous feathered angel wings. Thundering Arch Angel, the ability that Mikoto gained when she entered Dragon Force.
"Hmph.." said Mikaris with a slightly sadistic smile. "So much power in one place..there's no telling what could happen when we clash."
"One way to find out!!" shouted Mikoto launching herself at Mikaris.
Mikaris did the same and when the two collided with one another, a ginormous lightning bolt of tremendous power shot into the sky and split all the clouds out of the sky. multiple buildings within Psychic City suddenly had power outages as the two warriors of lightning clashed again and again.
Mikoto and Mikaris flew into the sky at supersonic speeds ramming into each other again and again.
Mikoto spread out her wings powerfully. "SECRET ART: ANGEL BLIGHT OF THE THUNDER DRAGON!!"
Mikaris put her hands together and brought them apart as a massive electrical sphere the size of a mansion formed in her hands. "Final Order 27: ELECTRIC WASTELAND!!"
The sphere of lightning collided with the powerful wave of electricity. An explosion comparable to a nuclear bomb rippled throughout the area as the two espers shot at each other once more. Mikaris was just slightly quicker then Mikoto and grabbed her by the throat with her gauntlet.
"You think all your friends will be for you forever!?" screamed Mikaris. "Well let's see what happens when I take that away!!? I've done my research on Earthland since you first came here..and I know percisely who I will kill the moment I arrive..."
"What!?" said Mikoto as she clutched her throat.
"That boy...Touma Kamijou!" said Mikaris. "I'll be sure to mail his head to you if you survive!!"
Mikoto suddenly felt an anger unlike any she had ever felt before rise within her body, she screamed angrilly and suddenly her wings turned pitch black, like raven wings. Two dark horns formed on her head and one of her eyes turned completely pitch black with a white moon-like pupil. A powerful black plasma tail formed on her backside and black talons made of plasma also formed on her hands. white ribbons of sparking energy came out of her white pupil and random areas on her body.
"YOU STAY AWAY FROM HIM!!!" Mikoto screamed as she took Mikaris by the face and threw her into the city.
Mikaris shot through several sky scrapers and got out of the rubble in utter confusion as Mikoto sped at her again shooting a furious barrage of black spherical energy at her.
Mikaris flew into the sky as an explosion of black lightning ripped through the area and Mikoto punched Mikaris right in the stomach, forcing Mikaris to fly back into the ground with a boom.
Mikoto landed next to Mikaris in a powerful shockwave and began walking towards her slowly and deliberately.
Mikaris hastily got up, blood driping from her mouth. "Wh-what!?"
Meanwhile the computerized voice was speaking again. "Warning..level spike detected in target. Subject has gone up to 5.1...5.2....5.3...5.4....5.5...5.6..."
As the machine continued to speak, Mikoto's body became white as the black plasma structures on her body became more intricate and unstable.
"Impossible!" said Mikaris. "Y-You're level shifting!!?"
Mikoto screamed and shot at Mikaris, a large sphere of black energy forming in her talons.
"NOOOO!!!" screamed Mikaris.
Suddenly the sky erupted with a dark purplish energy and out of the sky fell a tremendous armored figure. The man looked like a mech with his white and red hulking armor, his face being nothing more then a black visor. He had a long purple cape which flowed in the wind. The mech man pounded the ground in front of Mikoto and grabbed her face with his right hand..
"Enough..." breathed the man.
"Ps-Psychic Supreme!?" Mikaris stuttered.
Mikoto's eyes suddenly dimmed and closed as the energy around her body seemed to shatter to pieces and she returned to normal..
"I think I have seen enough.." said the Psychic Supreme. "This subject..I want her alive.."
"...understood." said Mikoto. "I take it...the level shift just now is what interested you.."
The Psychic Supreme nodded. "You know what to do...this could change the boundaries of Esper creation forever....take her to the secret labs...her life is now an important asset to Psychic City.
"Hey!!!!" A voice shouted out with anger from around 50 feet away. Natsu Dragneel was standing there, accompanied by Happy and Ellis who were both hovering overhead. "What the hell do you think you're going with Mikoto!?"
"Oh...so you must be the Salamander..." Said the Psychic Supreme. "This is none of your concern...be gone."
"You expect to take to take one of my family and have me walk on my merry way?" Growled Natsu. "WHAT KIND OF FREAKING SICKO DO YOU THINK I AM!?"
Natsu engulfed his fists in flame and jumped at the Psychic Supreme, intending to pulverize him. But suddenly the Psychic Supreme moved his armored hand quickly and grabbed Natsu by the throat. Immediately the flames went out...shattering as though they were made of glass.
"What...ack....my magic...I can't feel my magic.." Choked Natsu.
"How very quaint.." Muttered the Psychic Supreme. Suddenly the Psychic Supreme became aware of Elli who was pounding her little paws against the man's helmet.
"YOU BULLY, YOU BULLY, YOU BULLY!!!" Elli shouted tearfully.
The Psychic Supreme immediately swatted Elli aside. "Know your place insect.."
"ELLI!!" Happy flew in and caught Elli just in the nick of time.
The Psychic Supreme threw the stunned Natsu aside. "Run along little bug...I have business to attend to.."
Natsu gave another angry yell and ran at Mikaris and The Psychic Supreme...however there was a burst of light...and the Psychic Supreme and Mikaris disappeared along with Mikoto.
Natsu pounded his fist against the ground in a furious rage. "MIKOTO!!!!!!"
