Chapter 34 - ELANIS THE LORD OF CREATION

Diablo paced the demonic looking throne room within the palace of Fulmen. Ever since the Railgun had escaped his clutches, he begun to feel a growing familiar sense. As if something he had known for a long while was within his midst.

For hours, he had paced within the throne room, contemplating this feeling. What could be wrong? So far the plan hadn't hit any major hicups except for the Official Guilds escaping death by a hair's breadth. What could be wrong? Dravis remained within the underground chamber of Elanis as planned, and none of the guilds could hope to defeat him even if they went all out on just Diablo alone...

Then, after 3 hours of pacing, Diablo came to the one conclusion that he would not have thought possible, not here of all places: Angelus. His brother was here... and he was alive.

"So, you have come here dear brother." said Diablo. "It would make sense for you to take refuge in such a sacred country...but how long will it last? Will you come out and fight me? Or are you now too weak to lift even a finger?"

Back on Diablo's world, he and his people had been considered near that of gods in the universe. Even the smallest infant born of his world had the power to destroy an army of 3000 humans. They were the most ancient of races, older then even the unnamable things that dwelled within the underworld of Earthland...Not even Zeref could imagine the kind of world it had been. A combination of chaos and harmony. A world of both war and peace... a world of death and life.

And now one of the only known relics of that world was here...his brother...

"I will find you Angelus...and I will crush you... right after I crush that miserable Railgun.."

"You seem to be quite focused on killing the girl..."

Dravis's voice echoed throughout the halls.

"Dravis, I did not know your strength had returned enough for you to speak on the spiritual plane." said Diablo. "Your strength is quickly returning it seems..."

"Yes.." said Dravis. "I have already grown 3 times my previous size in the past 2 hours...By the end of the week, I will have returned to full strength...speaking of which..has my son absorbed the Railgun's power yet?"

"No.." said Diablo. "That girl's luck remains abnormally large as always.."

"You wish to kill her yourself..." said Dravis. "Is it because of your defeat during the Grand Magic Games? Is this some desire to pay her back in full for that failure?"

"It isn't about revenge." said Diablo. "Actually it's more about obtaining a sense of completion. That girl is the only one to have defeated me since Zeref, and I am much stronger then I was back then 300 years ago. Killing her will complete the circle...just as defeating Zeref completed the circle back then."

"Do not let the superstitions and culture of your dead world cloud your judgement." said Dravis. "After Exisio has absorbed the power he needs, it must be he who destroys Railgun once and for all. If you feel so strongly about it, you can add her soul to the many damned slaves at your command after her death."

"Like I said before...it is not her suffering I care about but merely the completion of the circle of defeat and victory." said Diablo. "For every defeat I come up against... there must be one victory, balance must be achieved."

"...I am warning you Diablo.." said Dravis's voice. "My Omnicience has already predicted somewhat of the possible futures in store for you...the next time you engage the Railgun, you will know more defeat. Do not intefere with what must be done..."

Diablo remained silent at this. He sat back down on the horrid throne and clasped his hands together. "Destiny it may be...but I will not remain motionless in this."

Mikoto walked through the forest. It was still about 1 hour until the guilds were to gather to hear the plan of attack. So to pass the time, Mikoto decided to take a walk to smooth out her headache.

Mikoto sighed, closed her eyes, and breathed in the fresh air. In truth, she wouldn't mind staying here a little while longer. There was no war, no strife, only memories, mere ghosts of the past that could no longer hurt those who dwelled in the present.

Mikoto opened her eyes and immediately thought she was lost. The trees around her were completely different from the trees that had surrounded her a few seconds before. Everywhere there were cherry blossoms. It was like standing in a beautiful pink forest, pink petals flew through the air everywhere, even the ground was covered in the beautiful cherry blossoms.

"Where am I?" said Mikoto. "How the heck did I get here?"

Suddenly, Mikoto heard a voice in her head. It was a voice unlike any other. It seemed to grow, as if life itself dwelled within it. Almost as if one word from that wonderous voice could sprout a thousand trees and grow a million newborn children with merely a nurturing statement.

Come.....Come my grandchild...come......you are so close to the truth.....

Mikoto walked forward at the voice's beckoning. As she moved, she could feel the blood in her veins throbbing, as if it was reaching it's ultimate point of origin. Mikoto stopped at what to be a stone grave marker. The stone marker crumbled to dust to reveal a stairway going into what appeared to be complete darkness.

Do not fear the dark...the dark cannot harm you as long as light runs through your veins dear child....

Mikoto continued down the stairwell, her vision went completely black as she groped through the darkness. She then saw a tremendous light ahead...a light unlike any other. A beautiful light...a warm light.

Mikoto walked towards the light hoping to God that this didn't mean she was dead or something. When she finally came into the light... her jaw dropped. It was ginormous city...a city larger then Tokyo, Beijing, New York, and every other large city in the world combined. Magnificent towers golden spires and lovely houses ran all throughout the surface of the city. A large stone roof of rock thousands upon thousands feet high could be seen as a ginormous sun-bright crystal jutted out of the center, lighting up the entire place...

But that wasn't the thing that held Miktoto's attention. What really held her attention was the humungous pure white shining dragon head looming ove the city, the rest of it's body hidden in the rest of the tremendous cavern.

The white dragon turned it's mountain sized head and twisted it's neck so that it's magnificent golden eye was peering down at Mikoto.

"Why hello my dear. You are a little tinier then I imagined one of my grandchildren to be like... then again I should have expected it..Thundaarix is the only one of my children who only had Dragon Born children instead of pure dragons.....she was never one to settle down much."

Mikoto continued to stare. She hadn't seen a dragon this large since... well since Dravis.

"Forgive my intimidating size." said the dragon. "I'm afraid there is only so much a thousand years of dieting can do when you feed off the world's love constantly. I find that despite all the war in this world...there is always a little bit of love left no matter how slim."

"Who are you?" Mikoto murmured.

"I am Elanis." said the dragon. "Lord of Creation. You can say I'm like your Great Grandmother. And Dravis is kind of like your uncle..as distasteful as he is."1"You're the one that Angelus talked about." Mikoto said. "Dravis's opposite. You and him were the originators of Ying and Yang."

"Yes." said Elanis. "Though, it has been a long time since the last battle between us ancient forces."

"Why am I here?" Mikoto asked. "Heck, how am I here...?"

"This is a secret place under the island that none buy I know about.." said Elanis. "Even Dravis is blind to it's existance. This is the Drakon's Citedell....a paradise for the last dragons on earth. Though as you can probably see, it's population has not yet arrived. None can reach this place unless I choose to let them. I have brought you here, because it is your fate that you shall defeat my brother and resolve the battle between Ying and Yang once and for all.."

"I don't understand" Mikoto said. "Why can't you fight Dravis?"

"Because.." said Elanis. "There are rules... especially between two beings whose power equal that of dieties. By creating this Sanctuary, I am no longer allowed to fight, not as long as there are still dragons in this world who will require it's shelter in the future...and I am sure Igneel might have hinted it to you...the dragons will soon be pouring into this island. And the Drakon's Citedell will finally serve it's purpose. Dragons will finally be able to live peacefully... however, man's fate still lies in your hands."

"Then...how are you supposed to help me?" asked Mikoto. "What was the point of bringing me here?"

"I'll show you..." said Elanis.

Elanis began to glow with a light more intense then the sun itself. When the light cleared, Elanis was gone... or was she?

Mikoto looked down to see a baby dragon with silvery white scales and golden eyes curled at her feet. "I may not be allowed to fight...but I can still provide assistance."

Elanis crawled up Miktoto's leg and onto her shoulder. The baby dragon began to hum into Mikoto's ear. There was an erie breath of air, and Elanis turned into pure silver liquid wich branded itself onto Mikoto's arm. Mikoto gritted her teeth as the heat burned on her left forearm. when the heat had dissapated, Mikoto looked down to find that there was a small silvery tattoo on her wrist near her palm. It was the Fairy Tail emblem, the same as the one on her shoulderblade, except this mark was very small and silver.

A voice then echoed inside Mikoto's head.

Now...we are one...

Back in the clearing which held the frozen memory of Deliora, all the guilds had gathered to hear the plan that had been come up with thanks to Erza, Lyon and Gray. Everyone had gathered...except for Mikoto of course.

"Hey, where is Mikoto?" said Natsu looking around. "Is she okay?"

"I hope she didn't run into Hydra Head again." said Elli. "It's like we can't catch a break with those weirdos.....Wait!! You don't think she's been captured do you!?"

Lucy, noticing the tears that were beginning to form in Elli's eyes, instantly tried to reassure her. "Don't worry! I'm sure she's just....er...late! Yeah, she's just a little late!"

Suddenly there was a big yell. Everyone looked to see Chelia and Kuroko were jumping back in fright, as Mikoto had just appeared there in a blink of an eye. There wasn't a flash of light, or anything. She had just...appeared.

Mikoto looked just as shocked as everyone else. "Eh? What the? How did I..? Eh?"

"Cool!! Mikoto got multi-skill! She can teleport now!" Natsu shouted enthusiastically.

"Don't be ridiculous.." said Mikoto. "I do not have multi-skill... I just ran into somebody...er...very strange. I-I'll explain later."

Angelus nodded at Mikoto, as if he knew what exactly had happened. "Well now that everyone is here, I suppose you can now discuss your plans.."

Erza stepped forward. "It's rather simple really, Hydra Head is not made out of ordinary fighters. Even the weaker members have strength equal to S class wizards. However, we have the superior numbers. If we were to put several people to fight one of their mages at once, we might be able to get the upper hand."

"We'll put several members to an enemy at once." said Lyon stepping forward as well. "Depending on how powerful we have seen them to be. In the meantime, Hibiki will stay hidden in the forest with Uiharu, Lucy, Tabigake and Saten and use his archive magic to help us keep tabs on whose still fighting and who has been defeated."

Gray stepped forward this time. "And while each member of Hydra Head is being taken down, Natsu, Hope and Mikoto will both lead Grimmix and his assasins into a trap."

Tabigake stepped forward and put a strange looking remote in his daughter's hand. "This is a little something I 'borrowed' from Aleister. It's a device designed to negate both magic and esper abilities. It's not as potent as your friend Touma's Imagine Breaker, but after you put those assasins within a predetermined area of about 50 meters or so in diameter, they'll not only be unable to fight, but they'll suffer from magic difficiency syndrom so intense they'll be absolutely helpless."

"Why couldn't we just use it on Diablo?" Mikoto asked. "Wouldn't it be better if we used this trap on him?"

"This device only works on espers and those with a certain limited amount of magic energy." said Tabigake. "Diablo's magic energy will be too imense for anything short of Imagine Breaker to negate."

"Which brings us to the main point." said Jura. "How are we supposed to deal with Diablo?"

"I believe I can help with that..." Angelus stepped forward. "Though it is likely I will perish in this fight with the injury I have sustained.....I should be able to weaken Diablo enough that a combined effort from all your guilds can finish him off...."

Kuroko leaned in close to Mikoto and whispered. "Not that he doesn't look cool and all with his tree armor....but he kinda looks like he's a lower level then Diablo...."

Angelus heard this. "Forgive me...I have not revealed my combat form..." Angelus snapped his fingers. In an brilliant flash of light, Angelus's armor changed.

He was now covered in a brilliant white armor that was adorned with gold highlights. on the center of his armor where the Hydra Head symbol would normally be on Diablo's armor was the shape of a golden tree. His cape was now of the whitest cloth. His helmet had taken on the design of a roaring dragon. The eyes within the dark unseeable features were now glowing pure gold. Shark fin-like blades adorned the metal plates on his shoulders, and similar spiked gloves to Diablo's now covered his hands, though these ones were white and not caked with blood. The started to tremble a little like it always did around Diablo.

"I haven't entered this form in so long..." said Angelus. "I feel quite nostalgic."

"Y-you're...." Jura exclaimed in astonishment.

"So beautiful...." said Elli. "You're like an opposite Diablo."

"Ying and Yang..." said Angelus. "Even among us brothers, that exists. A bit of Ying and Yang exists within all things. Even the most evil of foes hold some good in them, and the most good of friends contain some evil. Of course the enmity between me and Diablo might be a more obvious example."

"Then it's settled." said Erza. "While Angelus faces off with Diablo and while Natsu, Hope, and Mikoto face the assasins , here are the groups that will be taking on the rest of Hydra Head's forces:

Nicole, me and Gray will take on Aurumnus Rager

The remaining members of Blue Pegasus will fight Arachnis Widower.

And finally, Lamia Scale will take down Gore Beastwalker."

Erza looked around. "Any questions?"

"I have one.." said Nicole. "What are supposed to do about that new guy whose hunting Mikoto? Exisio."

"We already have somebody on that job..." said Erza as a sly smile crept across her face. "You see, though Hydra Head may have thought they cut off all methods of communication... they forgot one thing. You see, one of our guild members happens to have a device that's tapped in to a special communication network... it took some trying, but after a while, Mikoto and me with my Lightning Empress armor were able to contact him..."

"Unfortunately, he was already on a lone job, so he didn't have time to call up any reinforcements for us as he was 20 days away from the nearest town." said Mikoto. "but...he is a one man army."4

"Who did you call?" said Jura raising an eyebrow in curiousity.

Miles away on the port of Fulmen, a small boat approached. The fisherman aboard looked at his passenger doubtfully. "Are you sure you wanna do this kid? The whole city's been taken over by some sort of freaks lately. It's like the town is overrun by undead skeleton warriors."

"You just worry about getting me to shore." spat the passenger. "I'll take care of the rest."

When the boat docked at the port, two burning skeleton men with glowing eyes ran forward like crazy predators...Diablo's minions.

Two gunshots were heard, and the skulls of the skeleton creatures shattered as they fell over and disintegrated into dust.

The white haired red eyed skinny boy stepped onto the docks with his futuristic walking stick as he put away his gun.

"Keh!" spat Accelerator. "Exisio huh? This should be fun.."
