"The truth...I understand now..." said Diablo as he stood within the dark throne room. "It lies within this very place...the very truth to what the prophecy holds in store for the Railgun...for all of Fairy Tail. For the entire world..."
Diablo paced the throne room as if looking for hidden crevice in which he could find the answer. The second half of the prophecy was here, he knew it!
Dravis's voice spoke out from the gloom. "What you seek is pointless. I have the only copy of the second half of the prophecy that was within the Index Librorum Prohibitorum."
"We were all fooled by Thundaarix and my brother Angelus." said Diablo. "They created another copy in case you were to obtain the other half yourself. I must find it..."
"And to what reasons would you wish to seek a prophecy of one's destiny that does not concern you?" asked Dravis.
"To know the destiny of Railgun...to finally know what befalls her in the end."
"And what makes you so sure that Misaka dies in the end of all things?"
"Rumors." said Diablo. "Rumors that the prophecy doesn't just entail the death of you at the Railgun's hands...but also the death of the Railgun...."
"A death that will never occur in that manner as I shall ensure that the prophecy never comes to past." said Diablo. "You forget Exisio too easily Diablo."
"I must at least know what would happen should it occur.." said Diablo. "And if you won't tell me the prophecy, I will find it myself."
"I warn you Diablo. Only one who has dragon's blood within them can read it." said Dravis.
"And has this protective enchantment ever prevented one of my race from reading such a thing?" asked Diablo.
"No creature of your race has ever tried."
"Then I will try myself." said Diablo. "And confirm whether it can be done."
"So you seek the truth..." said Dravis. "The truth of the fate of Railgun and Fairy Tail.
"I must know...If I will be the one to finally kill her.." murmured Diablo. Diablo continued to look around the throne room. "....I must know....I must..."
"....." Dravis's voice remained silent, but Diablo could tell he was listening intently. Listening for a sign that Diablo might betray him. But Diablo wasn't about to betray any force he had loyalty to. Had he been that kind of person, he would have killed Black Whisper years ago.
He held loyalty to all those with great ambition. And Dravis had great ambition, that was all there was to it. While his goals might deviate from the original plans of his masters, he was not going to go off the map completely.
The Railgun, however, was a stranger part of the puzzle. She was somebody that had defeated Diablo utterly..even if she was only able to do it thanks to the combined power of two other Dragon Borns. Diablo had to complete the half circle of defeat with a half circle of victory. Otherwise he would not achieve balance within himself.
An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, that's something that the puny Earthlanders of both dimensions had come up with. But it could not hold truer for Diablo. A defeat for a defeat. Nothing personal, but that had to be achieved.
"I hope that you haven't forgotten our other objective." said Dravis. "I don't know if you haven't noticed, but the ranks of your guild are now two short...."
"Feel no worry, I have already picked a candidate to fill Aqualas's spot as number one among the Deadly Three." said Diablo. (The Deadly Three is what the 3 most powerful mages in Hydra Head are referred to as. The Deadly Three is comprised of Diablo Etwatia, Noiress Blackout, and formerly Aqualas. In order to be qualified for the Deadly Three, your magical power has to be at least 20 % stronger then that of a Wizard Saint).
"Has your leader approved?" said Dravis. "I understand that Black Whisper doesn't just accept any into his ranks."
"Yes...however, we first must resurrect him of course....before he can claim the top spot."
"I sense your intentions...and who you wish to resurrect.." said Dravis. "The only mage who has ever had a heart black enough to even come close to yours...you intend to resurrect..."
"Zeref.." Diablo finished. "Yes..I do. Long it has been since Fairy Tail defeated him...however, it is time he returned. Achnologia I shall leave to the dead...he is far more usefull as one of my slaves. But Zeref...he must become the guiding darkness in our cause should we wish to proceed to next step of your return."
"Explain..."
"Your element is death." said Diablo. "You are, by all rights, the Death Dragon. So naturally, you consume death to regain power quickly..."
"That is true."
"But.." said Diablo. "Besides Purehito, only Zeref ever knew death magic, and Purehito's magic is far too puny and weak to be of any use to you...however, if Zeref should feed you some of his own magic...your return to power shall become far sooner."
"True...yet not.." said Dravis. "I find your plan most interesting. Fine...but be warned. We know not of Zeref's true ideals...in truth, it might be safer to resurrect Achnologia."
"I know what I am doing..." Diablo began to walk to the door of the throne room.
"Where are you going?" asked Dravis.
"Where else? To find my brother...and to destroy him at last." said Diablo. "My family tree needs some pruning."
Outskirts of Fulmen 5:00 pm.
Erza peeked over the edge of the roof. She, Nicole, and Gray were currently hiding on top of the roof of one of the lower houses. Nicole was sniffing the air.
"He's close." said Nicole. "I can smell it."
"You sure he won't be able to detect us?" said Gray. "After all, he is a Dragon Slayer."
I'm quite sure.." said Nicole with a sly smile. "You see, I shrouded us with a special move called the shroud of Tsukoyomi...as long as the moon is out, our scent is covered. It's a spell that doesn't require much magic energy." (Just a bit of trivia, the Japanese god of the moon is called Tsukoyomi Mikoto.)
"Perfect." said Erza. "That means we have the element of surprise on our side..."
The crew continued to sneak along the roof tops, occasionally leaping to some to some of the roofs that were too far apart to climb.
Finally, Nicole stopped on the edge of one of the roofs. Standing in the light of one of the street lights was a shadowy looking figure in the rough shape of Aurumnus Rager.
"Alright then..." said Gray making a large sword out of ice. "Let's take him out."
The threesome jumped down. Erza instantly requipped into her Flame Empress armor and slashed out with her sword. A blast of flame exploded against the shadowy figure.
However, the figure fell over into the light to reveal that it wasn't Aurumnus Rager, but a statue made completely out of gold.
"Crap!" said Nicole. "He already sensed us before I casted the Shroud of Tsukoyomi!!"
"That's right!"
Nicole, Erza and Gray turned to see Aurumnus Rager standing in the middle of the street with a grin on his face. "You didn't honestly think we wouldn't expect you guys to attack sooner or later...did you!?"
Aurumnus leapt into the air. A mass of golden liquid formed in his hand and morpehed into a ginormous mallet. "SKULL MASHER OF THE GOLDEN DRAGON!!!"
Aurumnus swung the mallet downwards as Gray thrust his fist and hand out. "ICE MAKE: SHIELD!!"
A large crystal-like shield made of ice erupted out of the ground in front of Aurumnus. However, the golden mallet smashed straight through the shield and created a shockwave powerful enough to send Gray flying into the nearest lampost which crashed and fell to the ground on impact.
Erza moved quickly, her sword was a flaming flash in the night. She swung her sword at Aurumunus who put his arms into an x motion. "Shield of The Golden Dragon!!!"
A massive smooth domed shield formed between Aurumnus and Erza, blocking the flaming sword in a clash of sparks. But one did not block Erza so easily.
Erza sidestepped Aurumus so that she was right behind him and brought her sword down in a deadly flaming overhead blow.
Aurumnus grinned and a sharp spike made out of molten gold shot out from his back and blocked Erza's sword.
Aurumnus's fist became a spiked golden morning star. "Crush of The Golden Dragon!"
"ETHEREAL LOTUS: REAPER'S SCYTHE!!!" A ghastly scythe made of the ghostly energy from Nicole's talons blocked the fist.
Erza kicked Aurumnus away as Nicole dashed at Aurumnus, her ghostly scythe ready to slice Aurumnus apart.
"ROAR OF THE GOLDEN DRAGON!!!" A massive twister of molten gold blasted out from Aurumnus's mouth
Nicole opened her mouth as well. "ROAR OF THE GHOST DRAGON!!!"
As the molten gold and ghostly energy collided with each other, Erza and Gray both dashed at Aurumnus from either end.
"ICE MAKE: FREEZE LANCER " Gray shot out a barrage of ice lances as Erza ignited her sword again and sent another slashing fire blast at Aurumnus.
Before any of the moves hit however, Aurumnus's body glowed with a brilliant light. "Golden Lotus: EXPLODING GOLD!!!!"
There was a massive explosion of golden light and when the light cleared. The entire area was covered in solid gold, the buildings , the road, everything looked like they had been touched by King Midas. And that included the still and motionless Gray and Erza statues....
"There's a reason I am counted as fourth strongest in Hydra Head...My gold can negate all forms of magic-..." Aurumnus stopped talking. He had just noticed Nicole still standing there, apparently on hindered by any form of gold.
"Wh-what!?" said Aurumnus. "How did you!? WHAT THE HECK!?"
"My nature prevents me from being affected so easily by magic that involves solid matter." said Nicole with a sinister smile. "Now...I suggest you free my friends...or..."
Nicole's talons grew sharper. "I'll slice you to a billion golden ribbons"
"So you're the Ghost Dragon Born that used to be in Fright Face." said Aurumnus. "I'm going to have fun with this!!!"
Aurumnus launched himself at Nicole, both his fists turned into massive spiked maces.
Nicole enlargened her talons and caught both of the maces in her ethereal clutches. A massive shockwave blasted out from the force of the blow as Nicole gritted her teeth and pushed back on the powerful move.
"ROAR OF THE GHOST DRAGON!!!!" Nicole opened her mouth and blasted out a powerful twister of ghastly energy.
Aurumnus ducked the move and opened his mouth. "ROAR OF THE GOLDEN DRAGON!!!"
A massive blast of molten gold rammed into Nicole sent her flying through several houses in a cloud of dust.
Nicole staggered out of the wreckage. "Urgh...not my best moment."
Suddenly, Aurumnus shot out of the dust and thrust his fist out at Nicole. "SECRET ART!! GOLDEN MONOLITH!!!!"
A ginormous gold tower the size of a sky scraper smashed straight into Nicole from above.
"And a perfect finale, to a sadly easy fight..." said Aurumnus.
"Oh...really? You sure are dillusional."
Aurumnus backed up, his eyes widening in shock. "What? How can you be.....?"
The skyscraper sized tower gave a shift as Nicole pushed it off of her with one arm. Her ghost talons now had golden claws on each finger. Golden blades were coming out of her forearms. A massive golden light was now surrounding Nicole Mavros as she chewed on what appeared to be chunks of gold.2
"You just ate my gold!!?" said Aurumnus. "Impossible!! A Dragon Slayer can only eat one's own element!!"
"Tell that to Natsu, Gajeel and Mikoto.." said Nicole. "You know, I'm rather tired of all you Hydra Head Types always assuming just because you're more powerful then the rest of us, that you can come and push Fairy Tail around...well....let's see now it goes when Fairy Tail does the pushing.."3
Nicole tossed the giant golden monolithe into the air. She then jumped up into the air with the monolithe. Her golden shadowy talon morphed itself into a giant spiked club with golden spikes. "HAVE A BIT OF YOUR OWN MEDICINE!!!
Nicole hit the tower with her club, causing the massive monolith to hurl at Aurumnus at top speed.
Aurumnus used his enhanced speed to leap out of the way as the massive tower embedded itself in the gold covered street.
Suddenly there was a flash of golden light, and Nicole appeared behind Aurumnus in a burst of speed. Nicole's talons morphed into two shadowy scythes with glowing golden blades.
"Ethereal Lotus: GOLDEN REAPER!!!"
Nicole sliced her scythes around at impossible speeds, the glowing gold creating amazing flashes as the blades sliced against Aurumnus.
Aurumnus jumped back panting and grinning. "My you really do have some power in you..."
Nicole narrowed her eyes and noticed that Aurumnus was now covered in golden scales. "So that's how you endured by blows just now...big deal..I haven't seen Gajeel pull a move like that a million times."
Nicole slammed her golden ghost talons against the ground. "SECRET ART: GOLDEN PHANTOM GUARDIAN!!!!!!"
The ground erupted as a massive ghostly purple aura the size of a building burst out of the ground. The purplish aura became engulfed in molten gold that morphed itself into a humanoid form. The head of the gold monster twisted into a ghastly phantom-like face with purple glowing eyes. The possesed statue began to cackle sinisterly.
"Wha-what kind of move is that!?" said Aurumnus.
"Just a little something I whipped up on the spot especially for you..." said Nicole. "Now...let's see how much cursed precious metal can hurt when it comes right into your skull..."
The golden possesed monster came at Aurumnus in a flashing burst of speed. The moment it's massive golden fist made contact with Aurumnus, there was humungous explosion of golden light.
When the dust settled. Aurumunus was lying in a crater of molten gold, absolutely unconscious. Nicole stood over him . "Now that's how you play with gold....."
Nicole turned to look at the golden statues of Erza and Gray and sighed. "Now...I just have to figure out how to get you two free...."
Nicole scraped a golden talon against a gold covered fountain by accident and the gold immediately dissipated over the fountain. "Hmmm...or I could do that."
