Chapter 32
It was like the earth stood still as he enveloped me totally with his hands. We were in the middle of the gazebo, our song filled the air in the background, its final chorus playing.
I missed just being in his arms, his scent flooding my senses. I missed his heartbeat. I missed just being weak around him. I was raised as a strong person. But being around him made me put down that hard exterior, and just be a woman, a person who just wants to be taken care of.
Xedjedy made me look into his face, "Whatever happened was never your fault." he comforted me. "For what it's worth, I'm glad I survived. I am happy to remember things at a slow pace. I love you and that never changed." I could feel his sincerity. I know he was telling the truth. "I may be a vampire now, but I know in my heart that I can never live without you."
