Chapter 4 - A Normal Day for Sashal Dustans

It's Monday morning and I woke up at six even when my body is tired and worn out from working and crying myself to sleep. I went to the kitchen to cook for the twins. Dad's doing to work and I'm heating water to make him his usual dark black coffee but he went out of his room all-dressed for work, not giving me the glance that he usually gives.

I heave a soft sigh and bit my lower lip to prevent myself from crying. Was I too harsh last night? Hayy.

I placed the cup of coffee on the table and went to my room to wake Kwinnie up. They have classes today too and I need to make sure they are ready before I go to school. "Kwinnie" I called for her as I tap her shoulder lightly.

"Wake up and have breakfast" I said with the sweetest voice as possible. No matter how hard my day went or how tired I am. I make sure to give my siblings the love and nourishment they deserve to have.

She turned to look at me and dried saliva is seen in the side of her mouth. I chuckled softly seeing her bloated cheeks. "Sister can I sleep for five minutes more?"

Cute. But "No." Her five minutes are always longer and we end up going late to school. "wake up or I'll carry you and dump you to the tub" I said and she rose up rubbing her eyes using her tiny little hands.

"Let's wake Dino up too, hmm?" and she nods as I carry her in my arms.

"Good morning Daddy" she greeted Dad with her sweet morning voice and he immediately plastered a smile to her. I always think that the twins are blessings to Dad and I even when our mother left us right after giving birth to these angels.

"Go to Daddy. I'll wake Dino"

I went inside Dad's bed room and saw Dino sleeping with a soft snore coming from his nose. He's too young to even snore. Did he happened to adopt this from Dad?

"Dino wake up" I said and pat his bottom.

"Ugh. Sister can you stop touching my bottom?" he complained. I smiled with his immediate reaction. I can't believe he's growing this fast.

"Why? Wasn't I the one changes your diapers when you're a baby?" I teased him.

He sat up and pouted "But I'm not a baby anymore". I shook my head in disagreement "To me, you still are a baby"

He crossed his arms and sulked, he is now trying to go back to sleep but I carried him immediately "Oooops. We're going to school today."

When we went out of the room, Dad and Kwinnie are already seated on the dining area. I cooked the left over rice with scrambled eggs and bacons that the twins love and I'm just having a bread toast. We ate in complete silence except from the twins loud chewing sounds. We're about to finish our meal when the door flung open and revealed Miss Hena, who's holding a plate of three sandwiches and I think baked bread is inside the brown paper bag she's holding.

"Miss Hena" the three of us said in unison.

She's a very close friend of Dad, and she helped me raise the twins when I was ten and they were still babies. She usually bring us food or gifts. She's kind and sweet to us and she's a maiden. Which gives me the strong feeling that she loves my Dad, romantically.

"You can join us and eat Hena" Dad deep voice inivited her in the table.

"No thanks but I'm full Choll" she sweetly declined my father's offer. "I'm here to give my three little pups their snacks for school"

I smiled looking at her, she was the mom that I never had. "Miss Hena what is it?" Kwinnie's excitement is flashed in her face.

"It's your favorite ham and cheese sandwich!" she exclaimed making my siblings eyes twinkle.

"And you have something for Dad too" I wiggled my eyebrows at her while biting my toast. I watched her fair skin on her cheeks turned red. She's blushing.

"Oh. Is that for me?" Dad asked when he placed his newspaper down the table.

"Ah y-yeah. I baked it." She said shyly. Anyone in our town can tell that Miss Hena has feelings for my father, except my Dad ofcourse. He's dense and too distracted to even realize that Miss Hena has been with us for seven years.

I looked at the ticking clock on the wall and realized I have morning classes to attend too. "C'mon twins. Let's take a bath and go to school" I said and they stood in their seats.

Dino took a bath at Dad's room, refusing to get help from me insisting he is a big boy now. Kwinni had a quick shower and after I helped her get dressed. I quicken my phase to get ready. I let my black short hair down and wore my well-ironed uniform. My school attire is the most feminine thing I owned. It's the only time I wear a short pleated skirt, a ribbon tie, a blazer with my name plate and high socks with black leather doll shoes.

And despite having a very girly outfit for school. My bag is black and it's a backpack. This is how the mornings in our house go, everyday. For seven years.
