Chapter 2 - Plans for the uncertain future

The world outside a certain window was bright and cheerful. The chirping of birds could be heard from trees with morning dew on their leaves, children were playing with each other, and adults were going out to work. But in contrast to the lively atmosphere outside the window, the atmosphere of the house was gloomy.

Syden couldn't sleep the whole night because he had to sort out his plans for the future.

He knew for a fact that he came back in past but didn't know about the method.

'I am 10 years old now and master adopted me at the age of 8'

'I am not even a novice tier mage now and I have to be at peak basic tier or intermediate tier to be able to enroll at Rosalia academy and for enrollment, a person should be 12 years old.'

A person was a novice tier mage when he could tap into his world tree attribute or could open the attribute after absorbing enough mana to make a breakthrough. World tree was the name given to the tree situated in mana core and mana core was situated at the heart. A fully grown tree is always there in humans mana core but that core is deprived of any mana and the tree is in the color of gray. When humans break through the tiers of mages, they get a color added to the tree and get the attribute derived from that color.

Mana is in particle state everywhere on the planet. When it gets absorbed in the body it turns into a gaseous form and is condensed over time.

In his previous life, Syden was only an intermediate mage even after living for more than 20 years. His aptitude was average but his real problem was the space element. But now he had sworn to advance by leaps and bounds but he couldn't change his aptitude. To compete against those rich kids he had to put all his focus on training. If they could advance 10 times faster than him then he put 100 times more effort than others.

'First I have to open my mana core and advance to novice stage for that I will have to use all the mana stones at home'

mana stones were the normal ores that were exposed to mana for many years and formed a type of storage that could store mana. They also come in different grades corresponding to the person cultivating from them. They were very expensive for normal people to buy but noble families bought them like it was nothing.

Ryan was by no means as poor, he was one of the best blacksmiths in the shank's territory. His savings were quite high for a blacksmith but only comparable to a year's revenue of a count rank family.

"First, let's wash up"

After washing up and wearing new clothes Syden came downstairs and started heading towards his master's stash. The stash was always kept in secret by his master. Even Syden himself didn't know about it till the age of 19.

His master was very quick-witted, even though looked like a fool and pushover from outside. He hid the stash near the washtub of the kitchen but it was not in walls or in the ground but in the air, specifically in a separate space. To open it one must be a space mage and should have the key to the locker. If they weren't a space mage then the separate space wouldn't show itself and if the wrong password was input then the locker would blow up taking the said person down with it.

"Now, let's get started" said Syden while opening his domain.
